How to find out where you are without map?

so im using this http://dayzdb.com/map to know the map layout however i have no clue where i am in game. unless you happen to find a map in game, you have no clue where you are (im a newbie so i dont know the layout). is there any way to know your location besides finding a map?? i want to join up with a friend but we're so lost -
Rofl @ all the QQ threads complaining about being killed by other players. i got a suggestion for ya, go play a singleplayer game cause you obviously cant handle getting ownt by other players. l2p u mad?

i server hop to get infinite gear + flank behind you and alt+f4 when im about to die. i also shoot on sight regardless if youre unarmed. u mad?

The fact that you can go to a loot location and change servers indefinitely until you have your desired loot makes this game boring. Dying and losing your loot isn't even a concern anymore because you can easily gear up this way. Because of this, exploring and finding loot isn't fun anymore. And before you say, "then don't do it". I don't, not anymore, but the fact that this is still in the game makes it boring and kills the fun knowing everyone else is doing it. -

i want to snipe people so im trying to find the DMR (or other sniper rifles, not cz550) so i go to the barracks and just server hop until i find the DMR. i must of changed servers 15 times and NOT ONCE did any sniper rifle spawn. wow how am i supposed to be a bandit and snipe if sniper rifles never spawn wowwowowow

i just found out how to snipe with the DMR using the milidots after watching this however that video only assumes the player is standing. how do you aim with the milidots against crouched or prone players?

if your plan is to snipe people, is cz550 even worth attempting to get and find all the ammo for it vs trying to find better ones like DMR? for me the problem with cz550 is the lack of ammo. its only 5 rounds per mag and the only place the mags spawn are in barns, and its very rare. other rifles have 20+ rounds per mag so you only need a couple mags and you're set. so is it even worth it using cz550 and running out of ammo fast or should you just try to find a DMR or something with more mags?

what exactly does save vehicle do? im assuming it saves the vehicles location so it doesn't dissapear. however, whats the difference between 'saving vehicle' and just leaving the vehicle behind? the vehicle won't disappear either way. 121212

i heard someone say you could change your lee enfield mag into cz550 mags. i tried to in game but it wouldnt let me. does anyone know if this is true or not?

What server difficulty shows distance zooming?

how come sometimes zero'ing doesnt work? (cz550) is it dependant on servers? and does the DMR sniper rifle allow zero'ing? it never allowed me to do so in addition to this sometimes finding the distance (mouse scroll with sniper) doesn't work as well. why is this?

ive read that theres a singleplayer shooting range mode where you can practice shooting your sniper rifles and whatever guns you want to use. anyone know how to do it? -
for certain vehicles that spawn at a fixed location, do they respawn after a certain period when someone has taken the vehicle? if so, how long is the respawn time?

i snuck up behind a sniper and killed him. i was looking through his pack and then his body suddenly disappeared, so i was unable to loot anything. the body disappeared probably 15ish seconds after he died. afaik this isnt supposed to happen. what may have caused this?

i know that most vehicles are randomly generated, but are there certain spots on the map where vehicles are guaranteed to spawn? if so, where may that be?

i heard that if you come across an hospital supply box with nothing you can rearm it and it will instantly have all supplies? how does this work
