I literally started up DayZ, joining a New Zealand server. Setup completed and... unconscious. The area around me had not even materialized. Does the character actually spawn in before the player? I was on the coast, new spawn. Edit I just got kicked. Ping was at 156... I hate that. I never even got to find out what happened.

After finding a Remington at the Station in Chernogorsk I decided to make a midnight run to the outskirts of the city with the intention of moving inland. In the hours before I had gathered enough sustenance and equipment to allow me to make the journey. After coming across a small town I had checked a warehouse and moved into to check the... checkpoint building. Here, I found two cans of Coke which were quickly swapped out for my two cans of Pepsi as per my real life preferences. As well as a Makarov which I had actually previously gathered magazines for in the city. I moved into the surrounding forest and logged out. The next day when I logged back in I had lost my Makarov and in what is perhaps the most devastating part... lost my two Cokes, which had been replaced with my previous loadout of two cans of Pepsi. NOOOOOOO! After getting over the initial devastation I decided to question the forums as to why this has happened. I am obviously not blaming it on some hacker even though they are known for stealing my Coke, and I understand how buggy this game is. I have been playing for a few months now and, as far as I know, nothing like this has happened to myself thus far. From what I saw through my tear filled eyes my initial loadout from prior to leaving the city was still on me.

Literally about five seconds. I decided to get off at that point.

But seriously. I want to modify some scripts. Not to grieve, just to maybe give myself and others a better start. Something as simple as spawning in a Kalashnikov and running through Chernogorsk with a sizable group of following Zeds. Honestly, there is no chance of me even doing this anyway. I am just tired of dying unarmed. Anyone care to place a wager on how long this will take to get locked?

Genuinely great story.

So there I was, at the Balota Airstrip. Searching the control tower when I heard a Kalashnikov going off, I noticed a player standing directly outside the door, the paranoia got to me and I began swinging my hatchet, I quickly realized that he was simply stuck in a standing animation after he had died. Another player, this one alive and with a Kalashnikov exited and began spraying my position. I ran around to the opposite side and went up the ladder, at this point I still had nothing but a hatchet and was hoping to find something a little more... efficient. I got to the top and found nothing, I had almost no hope. I could see him at the bottom of the stairs, unaware that I had flanked him. He was still gunning, this time at the zeds who had come to the position. I knew it would not be long before they started climbing up the ladder and I would be cornered so I climbed up to the top of the tower. A while passed, zeds were everywhere. The player downstairs had gone up to the level below my own. Needless to say, I was stressing. He still had no idea that I was even there. Then I heard him firing... the zeds had reached the top. They were even attempting to climb the ladder to get to me but he was taking them out. After that, nothing happened. No flies buzzing, just an empty building. I stayed up their for a while just in case and I caught a random round in the head... I was dead. I respawned this time determined to reach an ally I had promised to meet up with. I was in Chernogorsk, the outskirts to be exact. After quickly running through the supermarket I had found two dead players, one with an Colt but no ammo. I made my way through the city, seemingly alone, a feeling I was all to use to being wrong about. I made my way to the medical tents and got myself some morphine, then the fire station. I reached the top of the tower... and logged out. Later that night, I logged in to find a completely pitch black night. Stupidly I walked forward and somehow managed to fall out the window onto the roof below. After passing out I was at five thousand blood. I took some morphine and logged out. The next morning I logged back in to find an Kalashniov with five mags.

Do you not use the entrenchment kits?

I just respawned in Osmel, after about two minutes of running I came across two tents right in the middle of the road... They were empty. My initial thought was a bandit trap, but then I thought that maybe kind survivors were doing this to help out new players. What do you think?

I ask because, after spawning in a new town, I pretty much went straight for the hills and after running for about an hour along the coast found myself at the roads end and staring at luscious green hills with absolutely nothing on them. Have I reached the end of the map?

Its so weird, I have no idea where I am.

I have the same problem, neither the base game or Arrowhead are working and are displaying this error.

That does not seem to be much of a basis for a friendly relationship...
