    Question about non Chernarus maps

There's a good page in the private hive section that has info on all the different maps and mods: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/109569-index-of-dayz-community-mapsmods/ My personal fave is Namalsk - it's easily the scariest map, especially up around Vorkuta.
  2. It's definitely not the longest time I've spent with broken legs, but one time I was riding a bike down to Polana to meet a friend, when I suddenly got shot by a sniper and my legs broke. I rode all the way back to Chernongorsk while my body was humorously splayed out on the ground following a bicycle without a rider. 20 minutes later arrived at the hospital where I was hatcheted to death trying to break open the windows.

    Graphical Glitches

I'm doubtful, since it only recently started happening with the latest ArmA 2 version. Any suggestions?

    Graphical Glitches

I've already looked on my own and all the solutions to my problem don't seem to work. For some reason, my grass, buildings, and trees turn/flash white, and in the case of trees they turn into white squares depending on my distance from them. I know this is more of an ArmA 2 problem and not a DayZ problem but I don't really know where to turn to. Suggestions I'd read say it has something to do with Anti-Aliasing and said to disable it completely. I did that but still had the same issue. Other suggestions said to also turn off AToC but that didn't do anything either. I even checked the ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA cfg files and made sure AA was disabled and AToC was set to 0 but it still didn't fix anything. This isn't exactly game-breaking but it is unfrigginbelievably annoying and I have no idea how to fix it so please somebody help me :(

    DayZ Fan Art Thread

Reminds me alot of the cover for the book Z for Zachariah. Which is also an awesome book.
  6. I actually like the insanity idea. Players with alot of murders and bandit kills could have random peripheral dots appear or maybe hear sounds that don't exist. Would add to the fear aspect of the game.

Give players the tools and ability to occupy houses.

I thought most people played on private hives now, so the whole spawning inside a locked house would only be a problem on the public hive. The randomizing idea would still work better of course.

    DayZ Single-Player

Sorry about the big wall of text, I had alot of things on my mind and needed to get them out before I forgot them. Also, I figured a majority of responses would be somewhere around the lines of "you don't know what DayZ is about, you should go play something else". To clarify, I do know what DayZ is and I've been playing since right around the time DayZ came out, back in the days where there were only a few populated servers. That being said, I love the multiplayer aspect of DayZ, but still have a desire to play it single-player or co-op. Maybe I just want to play something more like Fallout or Stalker at the moment but I think as long as the multiplayer is not effected by single-player then there is no reason not to include it.

    DayZ Single-Player

Well it is the suggestions page but I was at least hoping someone would consider it :P

    DayZ Single-Player

Don't get me wrong, I love the thrill of PvP. But it would be nice to have a zombies only type of gamemode.

New type of server (involves white list and time limit)

I was actually just pondering an idea similar to this. Pretty much the same thing except a player who is killed may not return until the last person or team of people remains. It would also be restricted to members who sign up and are still living. Living players who do not return to the server for a certain amount of time would be removed to keep the server from reaching a standstill.

    DayZ Single-Player

Before everybody goes apeshit on me, I'm not raging or complaining about PvP in any way with this suggestion. What I am suggesting is a single-player/local co-op mode of DayZ that allows 1-8 players to relax, kick back, and blast zombies. My reasoning: Sometimes the usual grind of online play can become boring or too stressful to continue playing for extended periods of time, especially when I've acquired nice gear and there's more pressure to stay alive. I know this is part of the core functionality of DayZ - and I like that - it's what keeps me coming back to play. However, when I do need to take a break from the pressures of online competitive play I still feel a desire to continue playing the core DayZ gameplay. So my proposal is a local gamemode that uses a character separate from your online public profile where you can play with other friends in the same room and just fight zombies and explore the landscape. Loot tables and vehicle spawns could be adjusted by the players, as well as difficulty (zombie hearing and vision, base player health, and zombie health and damage; possibly also player's starting loadouts). Also could be the ability to edit the mission for different scenarios, such as creating a mission and storyline with the DayZ gameplay. It could also be played co-op, with the ability to turn friendly fire and general options (3rd person, tracers, nameplates, crosshairs, and death messages) on or off. Players could choose to spawn together and work as a team or spawn separately and hunt each other/compete for the best gear. Besides allowing the player to relax a little bit, a single-player gamemode could do wonders for DayZ's atmosphere. DayZ already has a perfect atmosphere, blending fear, loneliness, and wonder to create a game that is equally frightening and fun to explore. A single-player option could give players an escape from many immersion breaking characteristics of online, like side chat, hacking/scripting players, and server restarts. It could also give players a place to vent their anger or frustration after being killed online. I see very few reasons not to offer a modifiable single-player version of DayZ, besides the general argument that "DayZ wouldn't be fun without other players", which I would have to disagree with, or Rocket's bizarre stubbornness against letting the community mod his game (which I understand is still only a mod in alpha/beta, which I don't feel really matters that much). So tell me what you think. I for one am definitely in favor of a single-player experience. Multiplayer of course would still stay the most important part of DayZ, but why limit what the player can experience? Edit: The amount of zombies that spawn from locations could be mofidied (x1/2, x1, x2, x3, etc.), as well as the amount of zombies that a player can alert at one time to increase difficulty levels.

    What's your longest survival time?

About 17 days playing on Fallujah. I'd been through all parts of the city and went through my fair share of weapons and vehicles. I had been working on fixing up a Little Bird when within 3-4 hours I lost most of my ammo, 2 cars, a tent, and all their contents. Then me and my two buddies split up hoping to find some gear to make up for the loss. Sadly they were both killed and we got separated. If you were hoping for a badass ending you'll be disappointed. The very next day the admin changed the map to Panthera and all the regular players, myself included, lost their characters. Bastard.
  14. lol you couldn't tell from how the player base behaves. Killing someone for gear seems to be the most common event in DayZ

    Custom Map Subforum

This is less of a DayZ suggestion and more of a suggestion for the DayZ forums. While I understand that custom maps (anything other than Chernarus) can be discussed in the Private Hive section of the forums, I find it sometimes difficult to find info on specific maps in the Private Hive section, mainly due to private server advertisements and clan recruiting being the most common topics posted. So why not add a new subforum under Private Hives and above The Graveyard devoted specifically towards custom maps? Forum goers could post topics and questions about the custom maps in this section, and find reliable private hive servers in the Private Hive section. Tell me what you think!
