Hyper only increases your dehydration rate. Have never heard of anyone getting killed by it. In fact, I've personally ran with it last patch for over a few hours by stacking items that have high heat values, and with proper hydration, have had no further negative effects. Big tips for staying out of Hyper. Stay wet (not needed, but helps). Don't sprint everywhere (it's bad for your sight picture anyways). Stay away from TTSKO and Camo Facemasks (Oddly Balaclavas don't seem to be as soul crushing). And worst comes to worst, stay hydrated.

Supposedly this was patched last night, the zigzagging that is.

((A fun thread to raise eyebrows at DayZ logic.)) 1. An Ice Pick is a better tool to farm with than a Hoe. 2. You can carry an empty barrel or Non-Military tent in your hands, but you can't carry an empty backpack. (Developer Response!) 3. When you overheat, it causes you to lose water more quickly. This makes sense because you're sweating. However you don't get wet from sweating. Which is one of the largest dangers of getting warm in a cold environment. 4. Everything to do with the lack of stamina limitations. ( In Development.) 5. You can get in a Hatchback with a Military tent on your back, but you cannot store a military tent in a hatchback. 6. You can fill containers with different liquids. Gas and Water. However you can't check (sniff) containers to figure out what's in them.

- Nail a guy in the chest with a Mosin. Watch that dude run a sub 12 minute two mile afterwards. (Cripple Effects are planned for development from what I've heard) - Servers not having a minimum graphic settings requirement, either static or adjustable makes a large portion of the game concept orientated more than stratagem in practice. Translation? Low graphic can often remove all plant life, leaves, and even entire forests. It can make buildings see through (this may be a 1PP bug, or a building type bug and not necessarily a graphic setting issue), and fail to render the color of clothing while rendering the model, showing players as giant white blobs sometimes from 500M all the way to 25M. (It's Alpha. =p )

The price for this months 'Impossible-To-Find Item' will go to...
[DGN] Johnny replied to Luc Tonnerre's topic in General Discussion
Chickens are obviously the hardest item to find in .60. -
I'm going to go with VSS. All of the above science absolutely leans towards the M4 being superior but... It currently has the reported bug of despawning your gear when logged on your character. In these rough times for gear and whatnot. That's a pretty steep cost.

So I'm curious what the communities thoughts are on the value of building a base in the future. Obviously we have a loose understanding of the concept in application, plenty of games out there sport some sort of base building concept, and most everyone that has dealt with it, also had dealt with how it dosent really sync with the value of a real world base, when put into a virtual format. ATM, we're able to use a few different movable storage containers from living out of barrels, tents, car tents, and military tents. Each having their own value, rarity, and ease to find. To being modest and living out of protector cases (I've seen it lol ^.^)). There is also the ability to live out of a built dwelling like log cabins with limited space, and are able to "lock" doors. (Although doors are currently badly bugged) But obviously we're dreaming bigger here. All that said, all the glimmer and sound goodness aside, what is our thoughts on the real value of this direction? Will this be more aesthetic than function, what sort of schemes and strategies would you like to try? What sort of functions do you want to be able to do?

More realistic weapon magazine reloading
[DGN] Johnny replied to maximilionus's topic in General Discussion
Makes sense. Should toss it in the suggestion section. -
Stay on the southern or western side of the map, and below NW Airfield. Your southern leg and Miskino leg are both likely areas on a well populated server.

Premium Autoconnect-Tool for Exp 0.60

This deserves to be stickied and locked. Seriously, best damn post ever. LMAO -
1. Try DayZUnderground or The Civ. Both servers have a really great track record of keeping hackers and duplicators at bay. Really great experience. 2. Killing people through walls isn't necessarily a product of hacking or cheating. Objects do have penetration values, meaning different bullets pass through different materials depending on the materials type and thickness, and the bullets caliber and speed.

One military geared player is with worth more than a dozen fresh spawns in time investment alone. That said, most military geared players are not nearly that successful in their lifespan. Even on the coast.

I've often wondered if one day this game would be in-depth enough to warrant books that offer cookies and relevant information. To include the lore of Chenarus, the events of the apocalypse, and even survivor diaries. This could go further into tidbits about understanding survivor craft. A book for example in the hospital that has a chart of blood types. We could even take it further and allow survivors to craft "scrap books" by tearing out pages in different books they run across. Slowly building their own reference manuals. It could also be a method to allow MVPs to leave their marks on games they love and have helped foster, much like the Developer Cookies we have now. Players that have contributed hugely to the DayZ community like Wobo, JamJar, etc. Just seems like a cool concept. ^.^ -
That's exactly it. DayZ is like one of those luxury condos people in my town buy based solely on the location, the floor plan and other marketing materials. Then the construction gets delayed by months. Eventually they let you move in, even though it's not finished. And each month they keep going on about the pool and the fitness center and all the other fantastic amenities, even though the hot water and electrical don't work. I hope you find a more positive outlook. That state of mind dosent sound terribly fun or productive.

Shoot a guy once in the chest with a Mosin That bullet will go through all seven cans of food, blow a backup up, ruin his plate carrier, destroy both of his canteens, shred his TTSKO top, puncture each morphine and adrenaline shot and destroy every single round in the bag. =)

I can see why CLE was turned down. Late .59 is a great example of the dangers off too much stuff sitting on persistence. Still, I feel a limited number of tents of each type is a better solution than this current timer, which does seem to be incredibly rough.

Well said.

Anyone else noticing that players seem to be sleeveless if they are inside a building or at certain distances? That bright skin popping through. Messed around with it a bit, and watched as it rendered from the cuffs to the elbow, and disappeared in reverse based on distance (like 15 to 25 meters).
-
I think it's server specific. DayZ Underground is the only server I'm seeing the behavior on.
-
Currently other players are the only real difficulty in DayZ. I could see the mentality changing if the rest of the environment was more dangerous and cooperation was actually helpful, outside of having more numbers to overpower other players.

(04/23/2016 Part2) Dear Journal, My Comrade and Myself, had watched a Military Compound for some time, near the hill of Veresnik (044:073). From that same hill, we heard iterations of SKS volleys from inside the walls. Always one way. Always seemingly final. We watched weary for this phantom from our perches and scopes, and yet this butcher of men remained faceless. Hours, volleys, the sound of execution. Moving along was a mutual choice. No hope lived within those walls. No hope and little reward. We inside moved south. It wasn't long moving south before we spotted another group. One had a way of turning into three, quickly. Then two. From the corpses, the first to die was a long rifle. Unlucky. The other two and us exchanged for a bit. But the range put our rifles to the advantage against the AKM and Scorpion against us. The scorpion died next. The AKM, showing valor behind description. There was nothing left to salvage from him. A shame. The other, the black pock. The last, a sparsely scavenge at best. (04/23/2016 Part 3) Dear Journal, A grueling travel, the sounds of lone shots haunting the wilderness, myself and my partner finding ourselves at Myshkino Military. The mountains above it. Listening as the survivors below carve each other to pieces. We watched. We thought an AK opened up on an SKS. The SKS won. Soon an AKM followed, and silence with it. We watched him bound from the walls to the tree's afar from our positions. No value. no threat. It was soon later, we saw another below. They had to be careful, as infected where thick among the tents. My partners scope stayed high, as I crawled below and into the camps to assess. I was most definitely not alone. Overwatch signed towards my location, "one lost, one added", "purple bandanna", "center". Shots followed. Overwatch bled out. 10 Minutes later, I watch as the man with a purple bandanna is chased into across from my position. He's too concerned with the gnashing of teeth. My first round likely breaks his leg. He falls to the ground. From my crosshair, I watch him bleeding, struggling, and barely triumphing. And it is then, in that moment of hope, as he laid bleeding on the ground, the corpses of the infected all but his. That the second round finds home. My comrade had been slain, items of his personal effects clutching in the hands of a dead man, with a pokadot bandanna. I hang his flesh on the tent. And leave, with a rifle on it's third owner, and an optic on it's fourth.

(04/23/2016 Part1) Dear Journal, We have traveled from Electrozavodsk, through Mogilveka, up past Vyshnoye, and into Stary Sobor without having seen a soul living. Even the infected seem to have been as sparse as ammunition and optics for our rifles. It is west of there we hit the Hunters (052:075). They had the sun and defilade at their backs, and us a tree line to hide our bodies behind. We believe we saw them first, them catching glimpse soon after. Though I believe it was their aggression and posturing towards our position, it was us who fired the first shot, and us who killed first. My partner slew the first man, whom's scope was trained and confidence seemingly invulnerable. He was not. The second man took another two minutes to fall. Though it could easily have been less than. We likely put 15 or so rounds into his concealment mistaken as cover. For good measure. As we scavenged their bones, finding those sourly needed optics and mosin ammo, we noticed one of the corpses had dark splotches about his skin and left it to rot. More and more of those cases these days, perfectly good equipment becoming unsalvagable. Hard times simply made harder.
