The simplest solution is an extended death timer. Which I hope is adjusted at the proper time in development and/or given additionally to server owners to specify.

A Few Thoughts on.. (Deadlines, Roadmaps, etc)

More transparency is always a credit. Making a great game, and glad to be around during a time we can play products and watch the development hand in hand. -
You can't saline yourself.

At this point, I simply assume anyone in a full Ghillie is duplicating or hacking. Stuff is a mission to find. ^.^

Welcome back. We missed you. It got sketchy.

Goodness, read some of the newer posts these days. Thank you for what you do, Mods. ^.^ Also, thank you to the developers for all the recent thread replies!

Can you explain how? ^.^ When it's right clicked it simply says inspect. Guessing you need to re-cut it?
-
-You can use rags to bandage. You can use rags to tie an armband. Once you've used rags to make an armband, you cannot untie the armband to use as a bandage. (Debunked! You can't untie it, but you can re-cut your armband) -You hear changing clutch of a vehicle much further away then you do the engine of the vehicle. (Audio bug)

The login/log out timers help prevent combat logging and help take the edge off of ghosting. Both simple solutions to huge problems when you can warp between realms. Also "Stable, Smooth, Simple, Fun" does not discredit my suggestion in anyway. A lengthy death timer is a simple solution for creating value and investment into each toon's lifespan. Fun is perspective, as trendy as it is to say, catering to everyone's "fun" aspect generally is the fall of cult classic titles . Adding a lengthy death timer is a much simpler solution then adding beards and skill pools which are already planned in development. Stable and Smooth are easy boxes to check, because the majority of the framework stability wise and transition into death wise, are already there.

Make sure to report public servers that kick for no reason
[DGN] Johnny replied to aurien's topic in General Discussion
I absolutely despise this practice. -
Could implement a death timer as an alternative as well. Death locks you out for X amount of time on the respective hives. Make it inconvenient enough, and players with think twice before slinging lead, bum rushing down main roads, and spawn hopping.Same could be said about fighting diseases instead of just pulling the trigger and recovering. Pesky Cholera.

I tell myself this is intended to prevent too much of the viability gap between duplicators/hackers and the honest players. That values will be redistributed with least effective being most easily find-able after they close up the huge imbalance that would create with the games current security measures. I'm not sure if I'm lieing to myself, but it's a comforting thought. ^.^

One of the biggest issues IMO, of properly having an atmosphere in SA, is the ability to use settings to negate that atmosphere. It makes large portions of the environment non-organic to the gameplay. Shadows settings, Vegetation settings, Distance Rendering Priorities, and Gamma goggling do more damage to any version of immersion than aesthetic adjustments could compensate for. In my opinion. I honestly do hope these are just placeholder settings for the finished product, and that a hard-line is drawn at some point to protect the fidelity of the game, even at the expense of a few players needing to upgrade their systems. I would even settle for a series of servers with locked settings, that prevent players from "optimizing" their settings at the expense of game fidelity.

Found Plate Carrier: Damaged Found Pouches: Pristine Found Holster: Pristine Attach all: All now Damaged. FML. The Plate Carrier conundrum cracks me up every-time.

On the other hand, there is no limitation to the apples a tree can provide.

-You get seriously happy when you see little changes like how the raincoat is two slots now instead of four, or that you can now see Compasses in the loot pane.

There's a standard definition of what Beta is for a reason. As much respect as I have for developers and this game, it's irrelevant how they do business or what they say the game phase is at. A movie producer that has rated R content dosent magically get a PG13 rating because they feel 13 year olds can watch their movie. That just not how it works. If they continue to work on Alpha content, it will continue to be an Alpha game. If they work on both Alpha and Beta content at the same time, then the game development continues to sit at it's lowest unfinished rating of Alpha. Otherwise the terms "Early Access", "Alpha", "Beta" and so on. Don't really mean anything to 99.9% of the gaming industry or community, because magically some developer or publisher can call his product something he or she hasn't earned to call their product. Which is the trending concern here, that DayZ hasn't earned the Beta tag and calling it Beta is purely aesthetic in function and not a sign of what the game has earned by it's level of development. Which is a major regulation issue right now across the gaming industry, that I have a feeling is only going to last a few more years. Especially as publishers become more blatant about releasing Beta Products as finished products with finished price tags attached.

Few of our members got hit with it. If they loaded into DayZ within that window of time. However they got all their stuff back a day afterwards. Rest of us kept our stuff.

Nice. ^.^

-You don't get wet in ponds or rivers, unless you move in those sources. Sitting or laying will not increase those status effects. -You don't cool by just taking off your clothing. You'll need to lower your heat rating value and move to cool off.

Some players like to have multiple backpacks for different things they are doing. ^.^ I know if I'm PVEing, I'll carry a mountain backpack. PVP might not have a backpack, use an improvised or Tort. Not to mention if you're playing with a buddy, it's always nice to be able to carry over a backpack for them, without too much trouble. ^.^
