    - Either there is a water barrel fairy that waters all the barrels of chenarus, or barrels by default have a water presence inside them. This can be seen when you put dry clothing into barrels. Which begs the question, why can you not collect water from barrels? -If you spray-paint or hacksaw weapons, it makes the ammunition inside disappear. =)

The maps are either grafted to magnetic north or have no declination. Which allows magnetic azimuths to directly convert to grid azimuths without penalty.

How do you greet people in dayz

Getting killed by someone with a shotgun is a relatively nice greeting. Considering they are great for breaking legs and leaving players helplessly stranded.

-You can't drown if you enter the water with a broken leg. -The ammo in your weapon can be ruined when you are shot, even though your weapon itself is pristine. This includes weapons with internal magazines, and the round sitting in the chamber. -A Damaged PU scope is clearly damaged when you look through it, a damaged hunting scope is not.

I succumbed to the darkside...spent a day KoS.

You're a forgivable person until you break someone's legs, take all of their stuff, and leave them in the middle of nowhere fully hydrated and energized. Which is most definitely a fate worse than death. ^.^

    Lack of netting

It is currently spawning. Have found it on the boats between Kami and Electro. That said, it's uber rare.

Pristine Rags (stack-able up to 6 uses per slot), are better than medical bandages (four uses per slot).

Skinning and quartering a body causes equipment to disappear. Which makes me seriously wonder the additives in human steak. O.O

Kill a man with handcuffs on, and the handcuffs disappear.

Coastal Poverty was wonderful [WARNING silly content]

I admit, I like your rendition of the saying a bit more.

    Hit registry

Shotguns are a little strange in DayZ. If it makes you feel any better, I had someone take a weapon out my hands yesterday. Thankfully he was just as confused as I was, and it gave me time to "retrieve" it.

You can dissemble a ruined improvised backpack and get pristine ingredients.

When you strip 7.62 from a stripper clip and discard the clip, the graphic of the empty stripper clip is of a full stripper clip. Those visual bugs that make you take a second look. ^.^ ((Also, oddly enough, if you load an SKS with downloaded ammo from a stripper clip, it plays the animation as if it was on a stripper clip.))

    Inventory management

Not missing much. They're pretty sketchy atm.

    Day/Night cycles on servers

Only difference I've noticed is the temperature tables. Haven't done a dedicated test though. =/

    Question About DayZ SA .60

Far as I can tell, micro-updates that don't need a persistence wipe to take effect. For example re-sizing gear, minor bugs like the compass that didn't show up in the loot pane, stuff like that.
  17. I'm a huge believer in the Subscriber method. Players interested in asking questions, donate a little extra for them to host that content. That funding helps expand their media and PR team without cutting into their primary budget, and supports the manpower to consolidate a lot of their updates while only minimally distracting the developers. Not to mention it illuminates all the dark corners of the development hierarchy, both good and bad.

A few thoughts on.. (Difficulty, Modding, etc)

A Developer is the highest tier of Game Master. You're not the GM sitting at that Friday night table, designing a game for a specific community, you're the guy who wrote the book. You facilitate and empower those middle management GMs, those Clan Leaders and Network Leaders, with the functionality to cater to those different communities. And that creates an inception of content development. You create, a soul behind the code that caters to a diverse group of players, while not being universally watered down. IMO, those points of yours are perfectly on track. Hidden somewhere in the syllables and wording, defines a game that is going to have one hell of a shelf-life. Looking forward to seeing what comes of it. ^.^

Not saying either way, just a good video to chew on if Shotguns are your thing.

Gamma and Brightness - Night Play

Gamma goggles are a widely accepted cheese that undermine the integrity of this games experience. I'll flatly admit that I gamma goggle, but to fool yourself into believing it's a trivial issue or working as intended, is laughable. Now if we're laughing at you, or the developers final product implementation of day vs night cycles and the requirements they will bring.. Well, time will tell. I for one, hope that flashlights, headlights, torches, and so on, are not doomed to forever be novelty items that clutter the CLE.

A Thread for Memes and Humor, poking fun at those little DayZ things that you just have to laugh at. ^.^

Probably my favorite DayZ clip from Daniel. Well worth watching his other videos if you haven't!

How I imagine Fast Hydration in DayZ.

You remove tires with a tire iron, while the tires are bearing the weight of the vehicle. Which is an impressive feat of strength considering V3S's and Bus's. ((Not mentioning NewUI Bugs))

Picking up your gear after you die.

The best move for a moral or traditionalist gamer, is to not get too emotionally invested in this title, yet. I enjoy the hell out of DayZ, and I think it has the potential be an amazing game for many years to come. That said, it's not a game. It's parts of a game, and in a way that becomes a game in itself, but DayZ is not the idea of DayZ yet. If it was. It'd be a very very broke game. -Fast Eat Exploit -Fast Drink Exploit -Fast Pick Exploit -Force Loot Reset Exploit -See through walls Exploit -Walk through Walls Exploit -Hide inside Buildings Exploit -Hide inside HitBoxes Exploit -Duplication of Items Exploit -Circumnavigate tools Exploit -Teleportation Exploit -Invisibility Exploit -Circumnavigate Global Ban Exploit -Immortal Saline Exploit -Immortal Improvised Suppressor Exploit And so on.... How does this relate to your topic? There are plenty of players that dislike the cheese. I think picking up your old gear is definitely one of those lackluster events, that momentarily feels good but undeniably waters down the dynamics in an in-genuine manner. As much as it's the communities doing, from major cheese like duplicating to minor cheese like fast drinking, I find it hard to hold them purely responsible. It's a heavy cross to bear if you plan on playing this version of the game while staying truly traditionalist. I can understand why people do it, especially when it seems like peanuts to the much larger looming slights that players face. I also don't think anyone believes that this is truly the developers vision or working as intended. If someone does, I just simply hope they are wrong. ^.^ I definitely don't think Gear ID's and player Imprints is a good idea. I do believe the solution is in the spawn mechanics, Despawn Mechanics or/and gear size vs storage space. Of all the solutions, I prefer a hard look into spawn mechanics, when the time is right. Which can't be done reasonably until the PVP and PVE experience has a little more integrity and death is truly at the responsibility of the player and not bugs or exploits.
