Thank you for blaming us, of who most spend at least 14 hours a day fixing stuff for free, on an external patch breaking something and us having decided that it's better to release everything in 1 go when it's considered ready. If someone gets banned for it, they did indeed break the rules. I haven't seen such a report yet (name scheme is already an issue as it is, so that will be a reason for a contact).

Reserved slots is certainly something we'd consider once that possibility exists (which can't be done within a mod).

There are a few issues with this suggestion that still allow abuse. Say you marked someone as "GUYHAZTODIE" and you see this black spot in a set of trash and you aim at it and it appears to be that guy. What I'm trying to say is that tags like these allow you to recognize someone as human while you'd never know without the marking. It still makes it easier, but the idea behind it seems nice. Something that currently can't be implemented (mod limits), but will certainly have a word about it in the future. Bookmarked.

@ Yar987, no server has been blacklisted for editing the difficulty setting, so I don't get your point regarding CH on/off, heck we even promote sharing that info by putting it in the name of the server. Private hives --> resurrects, fake stats (edited # of kills etc), not legit obtained weapons, teleporting, want more? The game is in alpha and if it hadn't been for the game having close to 20.000 concurrent players at peak (atm, and that number rises quickly, like really quickly), but more like 200, the mod would still only have "official servers". Now that it's impossible to fund this many servers, it's really great that hosters/communities provide the mod with servers for others to play on, but they have to understand they are supporting the development of this mod towards the future. People already abuse the system as it is, GSP only hosted servers then? So you can only rent it and have no access to files or anything? Kinda like CoD or which game was it?

I'm not sure if he meant what he said or that he worded it wrong. It's irrelevant anyway. The problem is that both a Hive and 1.7.2-update require restarts. It makes more sense to do both at once over performing maintenance twice. Just play some Pacman for a few hours and you will be fine soon enough.

Alright, the newest update changed your IDs to contain a string value. As these were handled as integers (set of digits), these IDs aren't loading correctly and by that causing you to stay locked. This is something that will be solved today with a very tiny Hive update afaik. As for the others (without alphabetic characters in their ID) that posted in the last 24 hours: If you are still unable to join, it means it's something else on your side (usually a wrong version, your character is certainly not corrupted). SiennaWroten, 1 more post and I will just ban you from the forums as well. Stop with all the bullshit as you know very well what is wrong with your character. Spawning yourself RPGs, Radios, NVGs, M4A1 SD Camos, M9SDs as soon as you die is just stupid. On the 7th of june you respawned 11 times and all 11 characters were fully decked out a minute after spawning, just suck it up with the crap and go buy yourself a new key if you want to play. I'd have given you a chance had you admit it, but no, you have to be one of those morons who thinks lying about it is the way to go, deal with it.

You can run 3 50 slots on that and still have a bit of resources to spare. HD is close to irrelevant. I wouldn't do 4 as that means 1 server per physical core. You could even bump the player count a bit higher most likely, trial and error on how far you can go...

Not even a rare sniper, just a DMR. Like half the playerbase has a DMR these days.

Repost your IDs. it's hard to go back through all of them to see who just respawned, who got help elsewhere and who just quit... I fixed ~80 characters from this and about 400 in total in the past hours. Anyone who is not fixed just has to post his (actual) id again.

I think it would be a good start not to give yourself items, including 20 copies of every part to fix a car. Oh, and M107s with thermal vision kinda carry the same story...
