  1. There are plenty of ways, we will only move those who are off the map, don't worry it will all be fine.
  2. I will see what I can arrange (= consult with Ander, and he just agreed with me so that's a yes) on resetting people who are placed of the map at this point. Mind you, this means beach spawns. In other words: We will move you.
  3. That's part of it Irenicus, with latencies of 4000 ms or no response at all your updates wouldn't register.
  4. What happened this morning was me (before that it was Ander, but he was even more exhausted than I was, or rather: I hit the bed at 7 PM and he stayed a bit longer so I could take it back over later :P) manually keeping it under control whenever it was dying again. We needed to get away from that ==> maintenance. During that time you could play just fine for a while and then all of sudden it would all desync big time.

    WoW style loggout?

    Keep in mind that a logout timer only works in these kind of games for 2 reasons: 1: They only appear when you don't alt F4. 2: Your character stays cause they made the engine to do so. As a mod this is difficult to add, it will certainly be added the moment the ability to do so exists.
  6. Actually till about an hour ago it was the DDoS. Like I said, you wouldn't be able to play either way. Looking good so far btw. ETA should be fine.
  7. It's a trade-off. Generally speaking I can't blame people for wanted to play' date=' some go a bit beyond what I'd consider reasonable, but many people seem to use the "I paid $30 to play this"-argument, forgetting they didn't pay us to play, but paid for the engine to play the [b']mod. As long as it doesn't turn into a major unending trollfest, I'm definitively willing to answer in a reasonable way at any times :). And again, thanks all for supporting the project. Even if not being able to play turns you into an aggressive zombie. Grab yourself some beans!
  8. The TS & Title somewhat contain what you need to know. It's down for a few more hours. I can make 2 threads for it, but I don't see it helping as I will update the TS with all relevant information. Thanks for the suggestion though!

  11. Fourty7, I read your entire post, but I'd like to add it's not related to that announcement from weeks ago. It's difficult to explain, but it should all be fine again very soon, just hang on!
  12. I will try to keep it as simple as possible: This had to be done really soon (within 48 hours), right now just was the best timing due to the other circumstances. We are sorry for the lack of communication, but please try to keep in mind that we have far bigger concerns.

  15. Early preparation for it yes, but 1.7.2 is needed as for a server-side code fix. As I mentioned, be patient or try out the workaround TR!PLE posted, which I put in the first post of the relevant thread of that subject, thanks.
  16. Would like to add this is a long-time planned maintenance, just decided that this was a good opportunity to do it. The project is not at the end of destruction, Rocket is doing fine. 1.7.2 is not coming out today, it is coming soon enough however etcetc. Just be a bit patient.

  18. Miro, please understand that we are sorry and do care, but at the same time just can't use the time we have on restoring over 100.000 characters, we simply have too much going on to do so.
