I was interested in responding this yesterday, but something came up. Now that it's a trollfest I doubt there is much to gain here, but I'd like to respond to 1 thing:

This server is running an incorrect version of the server side application.

Fixed the corrupted characters again. If you can't join it is not your character. -
Can't stop someone from playing there, but don't come here asking for anything related to them.

I wouldn't recommend using a mod for it, but generally speaking I don't see any issue with this, so have fun.

Alright, server hosters should be able to give their server a reboot to get them into a responsive state again Please confirm. -

DDoS ==> Packet loss ==> Data not being saved ==> Some items vanishing, others returning to your inventory. Anything a player has done in the past 24 hours can have not been saved, with for some people resulting in an advantage, for others in a disadvantage. -

Alright, locations of people off the map have been reset to spawn at the beach. The gear you had at the moment the Hive was taken offline will still be there. Any missing items CAN NOT and WILL NOT be restored. Sending us mails, PMs, screenshots etc will not change anything regarding this subject. We are sorry, but that's the way it is. -

They will be back when most of the lag is filtered out, we can't spend time restoring lost characters from helicopter drops and those people are usually the most geared ones. Will see how we handle it. -

Oh' date=' I think it's fine then, there's a few trees here and there (groups of 3-4 I guess) BUT if we continue walking, you do see just plains and plains of grass, we're about 5 minutes walk from the plains I guess. Our camp should be safe from "forced" resets right? (Safe from players I know not) [/quote'] Tents won't be moved, at least not now. This is just for players and yes you will be fine. -

You are off the map if you only see grass wherever you look. If that's the case you will spawn at the beach. -

Restoring gear will be impossible if anything has been lost. Something I regret having to say, but people who played during the major packet loss events are simply going to have to play with what they have. We really can't do anything about that. -
