Simple solution: stop dc'ing when a player shoots you or a zombie knocks you out.

Sometimes it can linger if I left determined to do something in game without accomplishing it. At work, I browse the forums A LOT. I get tired of FB and the news quickly so I camp on these boards when I get a good amount of work finished.

Dating & full time worker, recent college grad. I hang with my Gf for 3 or 4 days of the week, depending. All free time goes to dayz when sitting at my house. So when I do play, I will sink some serious time in. It takes a lot to get a proper game session in, let alone just meet with friends in game. On days I don't go out or meet with friends/Gf, I can get about 4-5 hrs in game in a setting. On days I'm busy, I might sneak 1-2 hr before sleeping late at night, but those sessions are often quick supply runs.

As for recoil and those picturing themselves with the ability to shoot like a soldier of future under high stress... Aren't you special? Id be ok with more recoil so long as it gets steadier the more you shoot/kill things... Progression with accuracy and experience. Many people who say guns don't jam or don't have signs of wear ... I just smdh. Many people I teach how to shoot a rifle can't even get the proper angle to look down the flip up sights/irons the first time.

You're going to have to hit the spots you had possibly saved it last, or the route you driven prior to restart. Happened to us plenty of times. When a server goes down in the middle of driving or too close to a save, it's hit or miss where it will be... And what gear stayed.

I've "broken" the loot before by spawning close or into a building. The loot next to it also broke and the loot was missing. Don't server hop, and spawn in the woods.. Enter the city that way. Edit- just read you travelled to cities... That I have no answer for. -

It's already been hinted in a prior thread on this forum, with a mod posting inside of it, that ARMA 3 will probably be used in the stand alone product. I highly doubt it will be created from scratch. Refrain from calling me delusional, thanks.

I think he's going to be forced to move to standalone sooner than he thought. The game is out growing mod status and he's stretching the limits of ARMA so much he's already broke its single player mode. Moving to a standalone with ARMA 3's engine is the best thing he can do now. I'm sure he's doing it with his team in the background.. Maybe internal testing and trying theories with this mod. This is just to be used as a test bed... A successful one at that.

I did read correctly. You're justifying the town because of one water well. You could just say the town is useless then... But then you'd be on the same side I'm on. -

All you're doing is encouraging the introduction of more hacked in items if you're actually using these "won" items on other servers... But again, I stick to the core game and really don't know much about this.

In reply to some who keep mentioning "you want every town to be a dm center with then same loot?" I will refer you to my initial post in this thread, which I recommend reading entirely. That's fine if you don't, just don't debate with me then. Anyways, if someone says a city is great because it has a water well to refill your bottle ... Well... I'm going to hold judgement. -

People are still not getting the point. If you have hunting supplies- these towns are useless. If you have a backpack worthy of many spaces- again, useless. If you have even a basic AKM, again- useless. (it zeroes and kills just as good or better than others and ammo is everywhere.) If you have binos you found in Cherno before going up, again it's useless. Normally I get full gear before roaming up. Northern towns are a waste and are visited by many for car parts. Are you really going into a barn up north when you have an assault rifle (even a basic 74?) crazy.... Give the small towns tents with a chance of higher grade loot and then you have a reason to go in. ( as an example) Most people encountering others are prob running into those who are meeting up with friends. I normally just use northern towns to try to find a straggler to kill or meet up with friends. ... Not for loot unless you're talking zino, NWAF, stary. Those are not even being considered "lonely" northern towns... Not going to debate those. They hold the good items. -

I believe these towns are great for those just looking to stock up on food but people are not thinking ahead here. Those who say this game is ruined by pvp and then say we're fools to make northern towns more "attractive" are not getting it. Making every town, including those in the north, unique by having specific drops would reduce pvp. Spreading the amount of payers, instead of concentrating them in Cherno, electro, and stary would force snipers to move. No city would be an ambush location if other cities were as significant. This is the way to reduce mass pvp without forcing anyone into a play style or bandit skin. Example: one town is known for having a stock of anibiotics, 2 towns may have barracks off the edges of them to spread the military grade loot areas, maybe more towns have quarantine zones that consist of military tents, others have stocked supermarkets with a higher % of food, and so forth. Every town would have a reason to visit it per say. Now, with this I believe spawn rates for military weapons become more scarce. Just because they have more spawn locations does not mean you'll hit jackpot every time.. But it would encourage you to venture to the next set of tents in a perfect world (without server hopping.) -
I agree that military grade weapons should be even harder to acquire, and even more rare to find when you finally get to this hard earned position you had to fight through. Even then, mags should be way harder to come by so you have to be wiser with your bullets. I say make SOME buildings only enterable after two players work to restore electricity or something to access a building. One payer trying to do that alone should be possible, but much-much harder. Could be done with instances based areas maybe. I say make most food and drink products much more rare too... But that might increase pvp..

Suggestion to make dayz more frustrating and more challenging

Some of your idea seem very over the top, and #7 makes no sense. However, #6, 5, & 3 are great. I'm all for worn guns, even when freshly spawned they should never be perfect. Not sure how people got this rapid fire leads to jams all the time. Most of these rifles are mil spec; we're talking military grade m4 and m16s. Most of the time its the weather elements, abuse by the user, and how many bullets get put through it (without cleaning) are the major factors. My ar has not jammed up because I decided to rain bullets on a target, which I've done a few times. The burning idea is great, but it may be too much of a classic zombie idea.. These are different. Hand combat, with knives too, are a must. We should be able to pull out our survival knives and slash at anything threatening.
