Yeah survivedayz is in need of a new patch along with the patch from dayz. I feel behind everyone else in getting to test\play the new content. Especially those insta-zombie death animations. Excited to see it all come together. BTW, the server has had some hard de-sync issues and it's become near game-breaking. Especially in PVP, because the sync is causing two models of one player out in the game world. -
Great patch. The zombie death animation looks much better now. Very happy for these changes.

Oh come on now. Lets not argue over peanuts when I stated I'm being as basic as can be. I think it got the point across. No need to get technical on someone with caliber differences and twist rates.

There is no such thing as a glock 1911. They are polymer framed pistols that have no external hammer (the "fin" in the back that strikes the bullet.) Glock has a model called the g17 in game, which is the 9mm glock model holding 17 rounds. The PDW is technically an Uzi and it is a sub machine gun. In simple man terms, you can think of sub machine gun as a medium between pistol and rifle. They're in the middle seeing their length is longer than a handgun while shorter than a rifle. Shotguns will fire pellets and slugs. Both of which cannot shoot as accurately to far distances as a rifle can. Shotguns are used at close for a more effective blast, and are often more maneuverable because of their profile. Rifles have a higher fire rate and are more accurate at long distances. Shotgun slugs are used to hit targets at a further range because of less spread. Shotgun pellets should be used up close due to spread damage. Think of pellets like a hundred bb's coming at you when they leave the shotgun. Slugs are like one big bullet. Some snipers are rifles with better scopes. Such as the mk12 spr (technically.) the DMR is an M14 AIM with a scope, and the dragonuv is a AK with a longer barrel and long range scope. Meanwhile, the m24 , m107, and .50 cal are purpose built sniper rifles. Some snipers are built to be just that. I tried to keep this simple and understandable. Playing survive Dayz mod: G36C SD with 1 mag AKS Kobra as backup in bag M9 Then all the basics in my Alice pack. I carry chemlights for those dark nights seeing NVGs are removed. I really miss owning the AKM. That gun is probably the most underrated one, too. I'd own it over an M14 AIM or basic M16/M4 any day.

Whoever says stealth kills is not fitting for dayz... Well, I just think you're 100% wrong. In a nice way to put it. I should be able to come up behind a zombie and stab it in the back of the head as I move quietly through town. It should be fairly challenging as it is now... But anyone in the right mind would do this. I would silently take down zombies before entering a spot... Why not give the players the tools to stealth kill zombies with their axe, knife, or crowbar in style? A very grief animation could be done with some nice gore effect following. This should also be done to players who are not watching their back. Same goes for holding them up and robbing. If you allow a player to get behind you that closely, you deserve it. Besides, how annoying is it to be looting a tent with your rifle out in stary, and then having to run away like a dumb ass because you can't take down the zombie without shooting it?

Very nice. Any plans to edit cherno to make it unique for survive dayz? Would be cool to have thirsk and edited cherno for the mod. And a wait to connect the two so things come together. But I might be getting way too far over my head with that idea. -

Actually, glint does reflect when sunlight hits some scopes in real life, given the conditions. So, while military grade rifles will not glint, civilian scopes should. Good way to have it in game, seeing military scoped rifles would be much more rare anyways. -

I wouldn't mind the zombie numbers as they are now if they ran much slower or had detection dubbed way down. Combined with a lower timer between their death and more spawning. Those ideas might make the high numbers very tolerable. -

Lack of server restarts seem to bog down the hive some. When it was restarted earlier it had this same problem with others. Can't wait for v1.1 -

Stay. The night brings way more advantages and immersion than during the day. I have no problem using a flashlight. I find it much more fun and pulls me into that survival horror setting better. I don't care if other players see it, but it also does hurt NVG player eyes like flares. They're not just "targets" like players think. If you're not standing on a flare like an idiot, people can only guess where in the vincinty you are. I say play on a night server, and use flares to lure high end equipped bandits in an ambush. They fall for it every time. Trust me. -
Snipers aren't a problem. People should stop moaning.

In that context, I'm pretty sure if the outbreak occurred in real life, not too many cities will have civilians manning .50 snipers on rooftops... Shooting them without dopping a scope with uncanny accuracy. I think you'd never run into such weaponry with such occasion, nor would so many people be getting sniped while in a grocery store. Those getting killed while in a town by someone with a rifle in the same supermarket... Or in a house across the street, seems more plausible to me. This is why I like survive dayz. All stupid .50 cals removed. Only the DMR, CZ and M24. They are also super rare. I noticed much more balanced sense of game play. Especially with NVG/thermal out. I've been really enjoying a more balanced approach that has less snipers, and more grounded firefights. -

Lag was perfect this time around (today on 1.5a). It felt like normal dayZ when I was wondering around the northern parts of the map. Not sure how it is in the big cities, but I had no problems at all navigating zino with the hordes wandering by. I think it might be the perfect number now. But that's just my feedback.
