I had similar but my engfield rifle was still useable and glitched infinite ammo, rifle also replaced my hatchet for melee attacks. (would swing the rifle)

the entire purpose of a MULTIPLAYEr rserver is to interact with OTHER PLAYERS. having at least one universal chat channel is fairly integral to interactions OTHER than shooting at one another. Removing the single means of communication between players DOES remove a vital aspect of any game/mod etc from it. the COMMUNITY. can't really form freindships with other players or determine if they're freind/foe without COMMUNICATION.

dunno if it'll help. I'm running the lateste beta version, but 6 updater is unable to locate the isntallation for ARMA 2:OA which keeps it from properly updating Day Z. so far I've tried the manual install via torrent. multiple attempts to get 6 updater to work, 6 launcher doesn't do a damned thing for me but take up HDD space unfortunately. very frustrating when installing a mod is more agravation than building a new PC for the first time ever was -.-

Having a similar issue, I normally play on Dallas 22 (server) Updated ARMA 2 to the newest beta revision and installed the newest Day s 1.7.1.5 (even deleted the old 1.7.1.1 folder in the app folder for steam (using the luanch options doesn't work I have to manually launch from the .exe file) the server I usually play on is runnint 1.7.1.5 which i should be as well, however it keeps reporting to me that I'm running the older 1.7.1.1 which isn't even in the app/common/A2OA folder anymore. have to say the absolute worst thing about this mod is keeping it up to date. I've spent more time this week updating the game than i have playing it. very frustrating. If its any help using 6 updater which can't seem to find the install for Arma 2 (probably becuase of the beta version?)
