  1. Rocket, you commented on twitter the other day that food was the rarest commodity in Day Z. Bring it back. I never loved this game so much or felt so desperate after a spawn. A friend and I sat in a building and we debated who got the only food we found in all of cherno. A can of coke, and pasta. I won. I watched my friend starve to death before we made it to the next town. Never loved this game more.

    Bring back the Rare food.

That's what I mean! Food at 1.7.1.1 was awesome. TBH: I loved that the food was rare and you started with no loot. It made finding anything really really nice. You felt relieved to find food and water.

    A New Leaf.

I had just died the other day. I spawned, and found a body almost instantly. It had a makarov, 6 mags... your old starting gear. Looked like someone decided they didn't like their spawn and wanted a new one. They didn't know that... you'll lose all that. So I'm jogging east to Balota to meet up with my ghillie'd buddy with his SD m4 securing the med camp so I can loot it. I run across someone who'd just spawned. Seeing my wimpy makarov, he turned and fled toward Balota. I called out on direct, "STOP. STOP RUNNING OR I'LL KILL YOU." He stopped. "That's good, drop the painkillers and band-aids." He paused. I looked at the ground. Painkillers and bandages. My pathetic loot. I realized I just made this survivor's life hell. I took something he'd probably need very much to survive a zed encounter. Something that would save his life... I shot him in the face. Four times. I giggled. I openly started laughing. I am a cruel, cruel bandit. Honestly, I shoot players because they're other players and I know that they're going to kill me if they find me. But now... I'm thinking I will no longer have such prejudice. I'm going to try to find other people to survive with, because that's where this game is going and that's the next step. Thrive. Now, I've thrived before. I've had all the gear... NVGs, M4a3 CCO SD, DMR, Coyote pack... plenty of mags, food, and water. But when you have it all, there's something you lack too. When I am satisfied with my gear, I usually look to start it all over again. I head over to Cherno, pop up on a roof and I become a mayor. Now, I'm thinking I head south to help people. Just to see what it's like. So, my friends... Bandits... I think this is our departure for a while, our last split can of beans (who am I kidding... we're all eating cooked meat.). Good night, my friends. HunterFive / TheSlenderman

What do you Fear as a Bandit?

When I'm fired at by someone, and I can't figure out where they fired from.
  5. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, seeing, or hearing one. Ever. =(
  6. What rifle is that? Sounds... Suppressed.
  7. I applaud the new addition of the double barrel. However, I think weapon diversity needs to be greater. Currently, there's a lot of fun weapons out there and you don't want (Obviously) to double up on meaningless (CoD style) guns. IE: I don't think there should be a Springfield XD 9mm and a Glock, just because the XD is different... However I do think that there should be the Glock 21 (.45) Because it carries more ammo than your typical 1911 single stack. So here's the guns I think should be in this game. SKS - Common rifle in Russia, cheap, crappy, pretty inaccurate. Semi-auto 10 round clips give a slight edge over the really common Enfield, however the Enfield would be much more accurate at range. G21 - An extreme edge over the 1911, adding two rounds to your magazine, as well as the torch on the bottom. Ruger 10/22 - The most common rifle by far SHOULD be around, with ammo that hardly does anything, but guarantees a Zed kill with a headshot. Ammo and magazines should be plentiful, as it is the most common ammo around. Suppressed 10/22 - The makeshift can on the barrel should completely obscure the sight and make it basically a crap-shoot on target. It's easy to suppress a .22, and most people that make their own suppressors do it for this platform first. Getting either of the .22s should serve simply as a "Until I get something with more firepower" feel. If the spawn loot is permanent then it is a very viable gun in the beginning, or even a starter gun, as you could say that -1000 blood is a body shot and -1500 is a headshot. Give them two-three ten round mags and a player kill becomes an undertaking, because killing someone, if you hit them every time, will cost you 60+% of your ammo. I believe that using Esc > Respawn should require you have one bullet. For obvious reasons. This prevents people respawning now to get a better location. Add a button to consolidate ammo to magazines.
  8. 1. Debug Monitor: Simplify this. I don't need to know how many zeds I've killed. I don't need to know how many survivors I've killed. I SHOULDN'T know the amount of zed out there. I want to know Time I've spent alive, amount of blood in me, and my humanity. 2. Disconnecting: Force the character avatar to remain "Alive" for one save cycle until they disappear. Save state at end of cycle. 3. Chats: Once direct chat works, remove all other chats. 4. Dead: Upon blood < 10 force save. 5. YOU ARE DEAD Screen: Now, post this live's stats. Kills on Zed, headshots.... basically the current Debug. Time spent alive.

    A few modest suggestions

I don't believe there should be a toggle. I believe that you shouldn't have a count of zed, or unneeded facts about your life.
  10. Dallas 4. Don't know where I was, investigating huge explosions. Explosions came from two sides of a town, alternating sides every minute or so. Huge ordinance, with a huge cloud and particles. Zed running everywhere. crawled to what I thought was a safe distance, and rose to a crouch. Within a few seconds, I saw a laser beam and smoke tracers hit me directly. Complete trash. I can accept being sniped at 1000m. This is horse shit.
  11. I've been playing for two days and I see you guys on the forums complaining about getting killed. I don't understand at all. Why do you guys want this game to change to PVE only? It completely robs the game of it's charm. I'm sure most of you, robbed by the charms and romance of Hollywood movies, believe that zed is the greatest threat to you in the wilderness. Surely, hordes of undead that cannot be indefinitely destroyed are the most fearsome thing in the cities. You are incorrect. Your mistakes are what kill you the most in this game. None of you that come here and complain about these random killings should be playing this game. Go back to WoW and your MMOs where sharing is caring. There's places and times when generosity is needed, and there can be some here. You all can cooperate and form clans and groups. That's evolution. You people need to realize that bandits are not bandits... We're survivalists. If this was reality, my life is always worth more than yours. What you have is what I need. What you represent is a threat, and I don't like that. PvE? HA! There's always going to be people like me here. 200 yards from your campfires, waiting for a straggler. 15 yards away, ignoring your "friendly" calls. Joining you, when I can't kill you all. In my mind, I'm plotting. I feel like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Think like a true survivalist. Everytime you party with someone, you feel the same hesitation they do. I love when you think I'm a friend. It's easy to shoot someone in the back. Whatever you do... Don't become someone like me. Hunting a hunter is so much harder.
