    Day 46.

So, I've seen some serious stuff over this character's life span. I hadn't played in a long while. Last time I'd played, I had been in the hills north of Elektro. I had a m24, no secondary, and an ACU pack with a M4 CCO in it. I was underfire, when I logged, by hackers that had been chasing my friend and I down. How do I know it was a hacker? Simple. They were on a bicycle, and my friend hit them with two m203s and the guy took three full stanags. Open combat, open field. So, here I have survived that. My friend met up with me (He found an off-road jeep) and took the m4. He went down into the firehouse to get more loot: I had no food or water. So, he goes down there and gets shot and killed. Apparently, there was four people in there, ambushing people that came in - I hadn't seen anything while on overwatch. I went and picked him up in the off road, and we went and looted the NW airbase, where we heard two choppers patrolling. Running and hiding from them, we logged for the night. We found a DMR the next morning, and a m4 Holo GL. He had a standard m4, and the m24. I've got the DMR and Holo m4. We ran down to Cherno, popped three people in the city (roof of the tallest building, two on the ground). We ran up to the mountain inbetween Cherno and Elektro, and popped some fresh spawners. After one particularly fine shot at 700m - we were teleported to the air above the ground in Elektro. After hitting the ground, and breaking our legs... We logged. The hacker was patrolling the falling bodies and finishing them off. We switched servers and barely were able to wake up from being unconcsious and heal ourselves in time. Feeling completely cocky, we looted Elektro for ammo before heading out to snipe again. We were both killed by a guy with a 1866 hiding out in the corner of the firehouse in town. He got gear. Whelp.

    It's a trap!

I just spawned in Prig and I was in a open sprint to the near by barns east of Cherno on US 126 on a late night run to get a gun for tomorrows venture. I'm sprinting across open fields to get to the barn when suppressed gunfire rakes my legs. I start the Zig-zag and run. The barn is a good distance out, but I make it there. I figured the player had determined where I was heading, and would bee-line there. So I only had a precious few seconds to make my decision on entry - left or right. I went left high, and found... Firewood. This will be short lived. I hear on direct - "Player.... playerr..." I say, "I don't have any gear, I just started. Are you going to shoot me?" He runs in and doesn't say anything. He kills the Zed around me with a Bizon SD. I'm slowly leaning toward that he's not going to shoot me. His name is Travis, and he then... "Nice Bizon." I say. He's not shooting at me, and he's close. My hands are in his pack, and I'm looking for a gun. Nothing. One Bizon mag. I take it in spite. The response was something I never thought I'd ever hear a player say. "Yeah, want it?" He drops it on the ground for me(with 8 mags), leaving himself unarmed. We speak here and there and we move out toward the wooden long house. There I tell him, I'm heading to Cherno to get supplies and a pack. He springs the trap. "My friends are watching us. Run back to the barn." I bolt and head to the treeline, away from the barn, figuring a .50 is watching me from the tower. I use the minor shrubs to obscure possible shots, and sprint south to the trees. I hit the line and run about 300m. I prone in a bush, and look around. I see Travis is following me, trying to give them a better idea of where I am. He lost me, so I bolt more south. I hear sniper fire. Travis is Dead. I laugh to myself and head east.

    Suggestion: Slenderman!

My character is named TheSlenderman. Good Enough?

Survivor Hunting Tip #7: Use Decoys

All of your videos involve the same thing. Shooting people from Cherno's tower. With an AS50, or some other OP gun that kills a bean-eating, makarov toting survivor with the skill and grace of... well... A monkey that a scrub may or may not own to do WoW gold farming for.
  6. I'm fairly sure that was my group with the AS50s. We were searching known vehicle spawns for a car to repair, after picking up a friend on the shore. We were engaged for over an hour on that hillside. TX4?

Video: How is he still alive!!!?

I find it VERY sad that sight height over bore was not taken into consideration. The Video was smashing, and really told you that the glass stopped the damage, for the most part.
  8. What did the first player you killed have on him, gun wise? I think I was carrying... an AKM or something like that.
  9. I once leapt off of cherno's tower. I landed on a survivor, who happily took my m24.

A Word To The Wise: What Is He???

I've seen this late one night. My mate had logged off, and I was still atop Cherno with a CZ550 and a stockpile of ammo. I saw an unarmed guy walking down the road to the right of the international. It's the longest, straight road you can take. He was weaponless, packless. His face was like he was dead... a glitched standing body as happens now and then. But he was moving. His face was aimed at me, or the sign near me. I found it curious, sure... but not scary. I shot him. The round struck him in the kidney, blood poured out. He didn't drop, so I put a follow up in his chest. Now, the CZ is trusty enough to drop someone after two rounds. It didn't. He walked on. I fired again and again, scoring a broken leg and a shot to the head. He crawled on. I put another mag in the gun, and fired five more rounds into him. At this time, he looked like a grotesque little thing, crawling toward me. Fountains of blood shot out of him as he inched toward me. I figured he was lagging, or something as he crawled out of sight and I ignored him. An hour later, and Cherno free of shore-bait... I went for food and found him. He was 10-20m away from the ladder. Waiting for me. Blood still cheesy and flowing from him. He attempted to crawl after me into the city, but quickly lost me. Haven't seen him since.
  11. I like the RP. I want to be a contractor. App sent. My squad will be waiting.
  12. Did you hear a 107 round go off just before this?
  13. This is true, and possible. But this game is missing something. Step one: Scavenge. Step Two: Slay. Step Three: Survive. Step Four: Rebuild. Without the ability to rebuild, we will never stop killing each other.
  14. No they won't. New Orleans, Hurricanes. The Government came and destroyed guns so people wouldn't loot. Families stuck together, looting happened... etc. Think of this game as a RL sim. How many times have you died from compassion? Then that's a lesson you should have learned. The difference between real life and DayZ is this: When you die in DayZ, it's your fault. You did something WRONG and you DIED because of it. Maybe you shouldn't have engaged that guy in CQC. Maybe you shouldn't have stayed in the city for so long. Maybe you should have watched your back better. Maybe you shouldn't have trusted that player. It's okay, you can try again. If this happened in real life, you're dead. It doesn't matter how "fair" it was. It doesn't matter. What matters is who LIVED and who DIED. DayZ is what would happen if you could respawn IRL. Get over it.

Video: How is he still alive!!!?

Uh, your sniper missed every shot. Don't use 3rd person in firefights.
  16. My group and I came across your little... establishment. We infiltrated in the easiest way. With the ladders. Would like to thank you for the truck. And the gear. Sorry, I dropped a grenade on your cars. PS: I accidentally the whole truck.
  17. Today, my group of three had the simple quest of finding a car on the server to repair. Well, it's never that easy. After checking the vehicle spawn map, and heading east to Elektro to skirt the northern border for the Otmel sedan spawn we heard hell breaking loose in town. Apparently, three survivors had attracted many zed inside the schoolhouse. We saw the hordes congregating on the walls, and the frantic flights of survivors outside. My sniper and I raised AS50s. A dual fire at an easy 300 meters put that contact down... as well as attracted every zed in a 5 mile radius. We bolted for the firehouse, took out the zed, and I ran out to do overwatch on the northern hill. I had to walk my dog, or she was going to crap everywhere. I come back, and they tell me there's a guy on the roof of the industrial building. This is when SHTF. I shot this guy in the head at 300m. He's down, and our cq guy goes up to loot him. My sniper had moved up into the eastern section of the hill while I was gone. CQ is looting the body when we hear 9-10 DMR shots and CQ reports he's underfire, Sniper reports the shots came from a location that was danger close. CQ is dead on the industrial roof, I'm looking at where I think my sniper is. I see a ghillie in motion on the hillside, headed toward the bodies. Sniper informs me it's not him (we're all in ghillies) and I take a shot. He's down, and Sniper is looting him. I move to CQ's body. I'm looting the NVGs off it, he's already coming back. I grab most of the essential gear, and sniper (who's moved back to the treeline) says "GET DOWN!" I prone in the body. I hear three AS50 shots in quick succession. I look right and a spawner is dead on the roof, followed by "Ghillie, firehouse, far side." A tense 5 minutes pass in which I'm debating running to the ladder for cover. The Industrial roof has NOTHING to hide behind except elevation. I see a Ghillie'd head and my CQ gun doesn't come up fast enough. I die. At this time, CQ has made it back to elektro, lucky spawn. From what I'm told, another group of 3-5 rolled up. I hear AS50 rounds going off on comms, and reports of locations. They lost two more to the sniper, and I made it back from Otmel. I'm crawling when I hear more motion near me. I'm frantically relaying my POS to the sniper, who sees the guy near me but can't get a shot. The guy near me blows my unarmed ass away with a DMR at point blank range (literally, I was in the bush with him, he just didn't see me.) CQ tells me he's got a gun, crappy double barrel. He moves off to fire at the DMR guy, but gets pinned. Sniper takes that guy down. I spawn west of Elektro, and I'm trying to loot anything with range. A Loud-enfield is my goal in the crappy town, someone barricaded the firehouse in town. As I'm moving back I hear "Motion, rear. Can't move without giving my self away in the bushes. It's been a good fight 'gents." Twenty seconds later, he reports his death. CQ reaches Sniper's body and finds that it's been hidden, or disappeared. When I arrive on scene and get to my body on the industrial section. The fight is over. I hear and see more coming from the city. I pop AK rounds toward town, Sniper reports he's off for the night. I tell CQ to get up here and loot his body. I swap to my AS50, and push more rounds to the city as cover at anything that moved. CQ reports all loot retrieved, He covers as I move down into zed. I lose them running up the mountain to the east. CQ reports he's free. Logs all round. Most intense firefight I've been in. If we would had just skirted the whole town, we'd have all our loot. Kill Counts: Me: 2 Sniper: 7 CQ: 3 Time passed: 45min - 1hr.

    Why tactics matter.

In all honesty, I think this is BS. In order for 15 people to have all that loot, you'd need to have seriously camped some areas, done a lot of server hopping and etc. But now I'll be watching anywhere I'd be on those servers if I was over watching the Airfield. I'll say Hi to your snipers at 1200 yards. By the way, you're an idiot. Why spend all your time doing that crap in NW for more "mediocre" upper tier loot... instead of doing 2-3 man map patrols for where-ever your enemies camps are... I mean, that's what I'd do. And when you found THAT, is when I would stage this ... 12 man raid? No gun in this game is Mediocre, all bullets kill. I've killed many who've out-gunned me by superior movements and a Lee-enfield. I've found SD M4s, DMRs, etc on these people. It's not hard. When SHTF, you realize it's because you're driving into the NW airbase... while there's "highly armed guys out there." Cars can be heard a while a way. I'll be looking for your... ATVing snipers... (LOL)
