The loot is not important anymore if you have 3-4 water bottles a full toolbelt and guns for every situation. i can undertsand the op and the guys who are pissed off, but its a sandbox game and he plays a bad mf killer/sniper whatever. Who cares... There are tons of servers, and hes lies just on one in a bush. Hes a thread for others, ok. But thats a situation you have to handle, or you will die. Sure the first one is dead and cant anything do but the others can hear a .50 shot, and get prepared. The op is right, that game was/is a milsim and has to be played with real tactics instead of game tactics (shooter tactics). 1 guy with a makarov can kill the sniper here, you have fucking 225 sqkm to flank him and enough landscape or hard cover to avoid los. You can decide by your own how to react in which situation. new ppl need to get used to arma and the style to play it, and i mean arma + arrowhead with ace, pr or vanilla not dayz!!!! because there are the real fights going on. Opf Arma player since beginning! 11 years -

Normaly i avoid the coast area, but from time to time i go hunt snipers. Sneaking around in the woods listening for cal 50. shots near cherno/elektro. 1 is enough to get barely the direction, to start the search If the Sniper is a noob who doesnt change position after firing or he had to overwatch a spot for other ppl aproaching the town then hes i great danger. I just need to scan the area with thermal, after located hes almost dead. I can select the right gun for the task (currently l8 thermal/bizon sd with 64 rounds per clip)then i can pick him up on range, get closer, go around, whatever i need. After dropping him i retreat as silently as i came. Getting deep into the woods hunting and searching for water. i dont loot those guys, never... The close cities he was watching have eyes too! -

Thats no bug its a anti piracy protection called fade. It will mess up aiming and getting you a bird sometimes. If its triggered once it get worse... -

since arrowhead you can change it with page up/down with some guns. if you get a rangefinder you can snipe on far distances (without shooting much to hit) -

Arma (opf) never dies! never ever -
keep both. I have a bizon sd for zed killing and infiltration. and a sa80 with thermal scope for the big planes and woods. As long you have matches a hatchet a knife and 3-4 water bottles you can survive everywhere.

today i found a heli crashsite, i left my fal for a 5.56 sa80 with night/thermal scope. (2nd gun is mp5sd6)

Maybe attach the cars to the player. If you log out in a vehicle it gets saved and you spawn with one. -
it would work. bring in silencers, the game changes the guns in the inventory via script. example: only m9 ingame, if silencer found you can switch between m9 and m9sd Keep standard guns ingame and lets find attachments which transferate your guns via script into the diffrent variations ingame.

A Karma system to prevent extreme PvP

a) I would say less loot after a kill, randomly only 4 items are lootable of all the gear a player had. b) Maybe little karma point system, where you are able to group up with other players when positive karma. With a group you can build camps where few items spawn (maybe collect wood and stuff to build). So Bandits cant join ingame grps till they killed noone last 5 days or got positive points, whatever... -
Arma has much much more to offer than dayz, there are tons of mods missions and maps out there. Its worth the money!

Just make the noise detection of the zeds not caused by ammo type, make it caused by the gun itself -
It depends on the current moon and weather, like irl. Take your text and replace the dark night with a clear full moon night. Its both realistic, depends on the date and time. Open the editor and look through diffrent nights at same time but with a other date, you see the diffrence (change to summer and winter full moon too, or half moon or whatever) Arma simulates the correct star and moon cycles over a year, try play around with the editor...

Close six launcher after getting ingame, it fixed that for me
