In 2017, I attended Pax East and spoke with Martin Culak briefly about the future of DayZ. He and I discussed how the release of the server files and modding would bring great energy to the DayZ community. It did exactly that. The work of Bohemia, modders, and server owners has led to so much in only a few years. Bohemia's permissive approach has benefitted the community and DayZ's extended potential as an MMO sandbox. In September 2018, Eugen announced the release of the server files. Ever since the decision, we've seen a steady increase in the daily number of concurrent players on Steam. Even my own DayZ community has seen increased player throughput in the thousands. https://steamcharts.com/app/221100#All I write this post to ask if we'll ever see the Chernaurus terrain builder project files released. The content could be released under a suitable APL license. As a modder, this would enable me to design a version of Chernaurus with underground bunkers, caves, and other exciting in-demand features that cannot be accomplished using mods. I have many ideas on how players would use this. From creating canals to underground train tunnels, and entirely new islands. This would greatly excite the players both in my community, and the DayZ community as a whole. But if not, I'd like to understand what the rationale is for not releasing the files. Is there a worry that any Chernaurus map mods might be misrepresented as original works by Bohemia and mislead players? Or would the concern be more to do with the risk of bad actors repurposing it for commercial projects? If any members of the Bohemia team are able to respond, I'd love to hear their thoughts. Who have a player spawn location over the map

All vanilla (normal) DayZ servers will start players off nearby to the beach. In order to change this you have to edit "yourdayzserver\mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus\cfgplayerspawnpoints.xml" On PC DayZ servers you can install the mod zSpawnSelection which allows you to choose your own spawn points on the map, with proper configuration. If you're running a PC server and need help setting this up. Send me a private message! I'd be happy to assist. -
This might seem silly but I know the trader mod enables you to spawn survivor entities to serve as traders. Servers take a bit of a performance hit when they have a few of these. Maybe spawn them in by following the steps to set up the trader mod, and then spawning in a bunch of traders by copy and pasting them. Say that every 5 traders are equal to one player or something like that.

Have you experimented with the "enable file patching" configuration settings in the launcher? If the server shows up on LAN, it seems you're really close. On the client-side, this can be enabled or disabled. Similarly on the server config > allowFilePatching = 1; // if set to 1 it will enable connection of clients with "-filePatching" launch parameter enabled Good luck. 👍

Make sure you have the debug monitor enabled on the server. You can enable it via a config parameter. enableDebugMonitor = 1; //shows info about the character using a debug window in a corner of the screen (value 0-1) Put this somewhere in your config file. The debug monitor looks like this Find DayZServer\mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus/cfgplayerspawnpoints.xml (open in notepad++ or similar) The spawns are represented as coordinates on the X and Z axis. If you do not specify a Y coordinate, the player will be automatically placed on the highest surface. (I think) You can delete all the spawn points except for one to use as a template. Make sure not to delete any of the syntax by mistake. Under <generator_posbubbles> you should see something like this <pos x="9193.7" z="1935.7" /> For a custom spawn you could do something like this <pos x="13093.1" y="12.0815" z="7150.36" /> Try out this spawn to see where it is. I don't actually remember. The Y is optional, and I'm not even sure if it works. I haven't really tested any of this yet. Have fun guys! Please give me beans for this post Im hungry.

DayZServer\mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus Find cfgplayerspawnpoints.xml (open in notepad++ or similar) coordinates represent various spawnpoints , to create a custom spawnpoint enable debug monitor and grab the two corresponding coordinates. enableDebugMonitor = 1; //shows info about the character using a debug window in a corner of the screen (value 0-1) ^put that in the config to get coordinate info for custom spawn points. I think u use those to set custom spawns. good luck to you. *Edit: I created this post about it.

Just because the vehicles are deactivated doesn't mean they can be reactivated and used. I do not believe they've been implemented yet, correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck. You might just have to wait til they're added back in.

You need to specify where the config file is located in the batch file. Try DayZServer_x64.exe -config=serverDZ.cfg -port=2302 -profiles=C:\Users\%USER%\Documents\DayZ Server -dologs -adminlog -netlog -freezecheck -noFilePatching -cpuCount=2

Eugen, Thank you for the updated information. Quality matters more to me than the speed of the delivery. I would much rather have a more functional server than not. There will always be bumps in the road to overcome. I will be patiently & excitedly awaiting the release of the files. - CruFro

I'm waiting on them too. The post said within the next week so I'm assuming it's coming sometime between tomorrow and the 24th. Let's hope soon!!
