Attention: Rocket. Please review the DayZ server host rules.

What do you not get? I don't need to bring anything new. You don't to password. FYI, Server-hopping is not the best way to loot, and I don't ghost. You just want your chance to be an abusive admin. Allow me to be the first to say: Haha. You don't get to password your server. What are you going to do about it? Nobody cares for little cunts who stick their fingers in their ears and go 'lalalala' to drown out any opposing viewpoints, which is what you do, under the guise that NEW arguments are required(the old ones are sufficient since you have in no way refuted them). -

Dems de rules, bitch. Learn 'em. Love 'em. It's alpha. You can say whatever you want about that, but doesn't change the fact that it is. It also doesn't change the fact that the rules aren't likely to change anytime soon. So stop whining. DayZ doesn't have the setup other games have for good reasons that have already been listed. Admin abuse can be just as detrimental to a player's game play experience as hackers. Stop asking for reasons over and over. They've been mentioned already. Also, rage/qq/etc more. Enjoy not having your passworded server. It's not gonna happen bro. IMO you should just go ahead and do it. It's against the rules and you're right, i'm sure they'll never notice. It's not like people have been caught already. Do it! -

Nothing contrary. You're clearly babbling. What you do on 'your' server effects people on every other server you go to. So no, you don't get the right to ban. Don't like it, go play something else. I've been dealing with hackers all day long. It's frustrating as hell. The group I play with has their own server. We had to grin and bear it while two assholes constantly teleported to us. Yes, we'd have loved to have banned them. We lost multiple vehicles and all the gear on us. Just accept the fact that it's alpha and you have to deal with this shit. Stop begging for rights to do things that are specifically not allowed. I don't need an argument for why it's not allowed. It's already not allowed. -

This isn't the only argument. I find it inconceivable you couldn't be bothered to read the thread and still felt the need to post. This will never be the solution. The security issues need to be addressed, we don't need rambo admins banning 'suspected hackers' for killing them, locking servers so they can safe loot, etc. -
CraXy and Nitroustyman. Killed them both several times with the same gear. Ran one of them over the first time while he was rolling around, his corpse disappeared into the ground. He then showed up again moments later, same gear, killed one of my friends, before the rest of us unloaded on him. Not two minutes later, he's back about 20 feet away, and one of my friends runs him over again. No corpse. We're driving down the road and one of them opens up from the treeline, disabling both of our vehicles. We get out and kill them. Again. Friend goes to give me a transfusion. I see CraXy pop into existance on the road, headshot my friend with a DMR before I headshot him. My friend respawns in chernogorsk. This guy teleports to him AGAIN. This all happened at approximately 10:20 EST.

Again, the problem I have with admins having full kick/ban/lock powers is that it can be abused. Here's the thing to keep in mind.. they wouldn't have to do it every day for it to be abused. Maybe they only play/die once or twice a month.. that's once or twice a month people are kicked/banned to protect their corpses. Now, if it happens that 'infrequently' it's not likely to be much of a blip on anybody's radar and they'll get away with it scott free. As far as duping goes - yes, it's a major issue. AS50s, L85s, and NVGs everywhere. I honestly think this is one of the main problems the game is suffering from right now. As far as the hacks go though, the ArmA2 devs need to get off their asses and sort it out. Or Rocket needs to get away from the ArmA2 engine as quickly as possible. Something's got to give. I want to state about admin abuse - It doesn't have to be widespread to ruin somebody's day. I firmly believe that if you leave room for abuse, it will happen. This isn't a typical shooter where it's not as big of a deal, either. If somebody has been playing on a server for a month, happens to kill the admin or his friends(who figure out who did it) and gets banned? Imagine if he had a camp all set up, vehicles stashed, etc. He'll have lost all of that. The solution is, in my opinion, cheat detection and global bans. I feel that since we are in alpha right now, we should just suck it up, cry our tears when a hacker screws us over, and move on. -

Actually, you implied that it was me that doesn't want locks for presumably nefarious reasons. You started with the implication. Don't even try to turn it around. I pointed if that if you're allowed to lock your server, many people will in fact safe farm on their nice quiet locked servers. Second, I said nothing about the DayZ devs. Why are you quoting me when you're basically making shit up? You could always run a private server that isn't connected to the hive. I have no idea if this is allowed or not but at the same time, I see no way to police it. If it's not connected to the hive, you can't bring your toys to other servers. This is fine with me. As far as I know, you are allowed to ban hackers. This is the only reason you're allowed to ban people. Could be wrong, I don't run a server, but I believe this is true. -
I haven't seen new tents working in awhile so.. I'd pass.

For all I dislike you and disagree with you, Zed, you're making way too much sense in this thread and the one you linked to. +beans. -

Honestly, if you can't stomach it, then don't pay for a server. I want to stress again, you are running a server for an alpha test. Collecting data is FAR more important than the personal enjoyment of players(including yourself). Locking a server is not going to help in this endeavor. The truth is, everybody needs to just grin and bear it for now. Everybody knows it's a problem. There's LOTS of problems. Wait for Rocket to fix them. It's not on us, the community, to work around it. At the end of the day, this is intended to be a working product, and people locking servers, running private hives and such, is not helping on that end. Remind you of anybody? (Hint: Mirror) -

Actually, I play on one server, but nice try. As far as the hacking goes, for one, it's alpha. No, that doesn't mean that hacking is okay. It means it's a problem to be addressed by the developers. Not you. Not by changing rules that are in place to prevent admins and their friends from having safe servers to loot. If you can't wait for a fix from the devs, why are you even playing? Again, I repeat, this is alpha. You're here to test. It's a nice side effect that you get to have fun too. Nothing more. All this says is that you have more money than sense and probably don't work for any of it. son! I don't wonder if that's the real solution, but there's problems there too. Private databases can be modified by the host of said databases, which still allows for cheating. However, it would eliminate a lot of exploits like server hopping for loot as well as ghosting in combat. You, sir, are a commendable member of this community and we should all strive to be a bit more sensible and level-headed in our debates as well. -
DayZ DEVS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS NOW!!!

You ridiculous little cheating man. Enjoy getting your server blacklisted. I myself will laugh in your face when the money you spent to rent a server is wasted because it can't connect to the hive anymore. The level of ignorance feigned in this thread is absurd. You all pretend like these locked servers don't result in unfair play. They do. I don't care if *you* aren't going to do that. If it's allowed, many will do it. You'll see tons of servers with anywhere between 1-2 people on it to 10, all locked. Just looting and vehicle whoring safely to their hearts content. But as usual, all anyone thinks about is themselves here. Stop bitching for the ability to lock your server. That is NOT the way to address hackers. Stop acting like it's the ONLY way to address hackers. It makes it seem like you're pushing this agenda for the reasons I mentioned already. Doubtful. I think many of the people who think War Z is going to be this great game haven't looked into the game or the company. They make generic nonsense. War Z will be more of that and it's pretty doubtful it'll even remotely compare to DayZ. Enjoy your grinding quests for gold coins. Sounds a lot like DayZ, huh? -
Ridiculous, sir. This is not a co-op game.

There have been plenty of complaints of admin abuse and we all know what they are capable of. The fact is, if you allow people to do it, they will abuse it. It's a simple fact. Locked servers = cheaters. Every time. I'd be fine with it if you couldn't play on any other server. However you can take your ill-gotten gains elsewhere, or even unlock your server once you have all the vehicles and gear you need. Don't think for a second this isn't what will happen if admins are allowed to lock. -
Look at the pot call the kettle black. Yeah, we're done here.
-
Not really. You're in the apocalypse. Trust is hard to come by at the very least, if not all If you want the ability to interact with people, you need to have the upper hand. Bring some friends, let the party you want to interact with know he's outnumbered and outgunned. Even if it isn't true. Actually, people like you hold back the game by refusing to use the tools available. I'm aware this isn't a finished product. Personally I think things are going great. All the rage people feel shows how much they have invested in the game/their characters. Fix alt+f4ers and hackers, along with some of the other problematic bugs like duping, and DayZ is in pretty good fucking shape.
-
Indeed. You can dupe easily, in fact, it's harder to *not* dupe.
-
BEHOLD! The *possible way to save this game from QQ!

He's actually right. I'm willing to take just about anything that stops these threads begging Rocket to stop people from PVPing because they died and lost their winchester. Though if it keeps up, i'm just going to have to learn to drink deeply of their tears. -
Oh god, they make the worst headsets in the world. STAY AWAY. Talk to you in 3 months when they're broken.

Good. Keep it up. We already have to deal with hackers and alt+f4ers. We don't need any more levels of bullshit that take the fairness out of this game(and by fairness I don't mean even playing field for gear - just even chances of getting that gear). -
No, it doesn't. And you'll continue to not have fun to the game's fullest potential. Tired of crybabies begging Rocket to take the sandbox out of the game and give them some sort of mechanic to force people to be nice to them. Don't say for a second that's not what you want. It is. It's not going to happen. There's plenty of ways to have fun interacting with other players in this game. I'm sorry you're too shallow to see it, or too lazy to put in the effort to do it.
-
You're going to call a person a duper/cheater/hacker for talking sense to you? Get over yourself. It's alpha. You duper/cheater/hacker.

Not relevant in any way, shape, or form. I know it's nice to pretend that locking your server is fine and that it doesn't effect people everywhere you go, but thats just not the case. Since you're going to pretend to not understand, let me spell it out for you, fuckwit. You do not have the right to lock your server because you do not have the right to safe looting. The rest of us have to risk fighting other players if we want to loot airfields or military camps. We have to risk losing everything. But you want to just lock your server and have a nice easy time of it. Fuck you and fuck what you're about. Carebear easymoding fuck. [settle the fuck down. Warned - Ubi]
