Possible hacking on US 5 (unrepentant)
Valec replied to harken (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You tried to disconnect to prevent dying to me(though it was too late already). I'm not sure why you don't think that's an exploit, considering that's the main problem in the game at the moment. You noticed what I did when you shot at me? Looked for you, then killed you. I'm not a disconnecting little bitch like you. But if I was, I probably wouldn't have died like you did. I have two L85s because of killing people like you. You'd think these things fall out of the sky or something. edit: You also might like to know that we don't have a 'camp'. So I don't really know anything about your adventures raiding 'us'. -
Possible hacking on US 5 (unrepentant)

I wonder how you did all that when only 3 of us play together, we're not a clan, don't have members, etc. You can imply that we're 'hackers' or 'exploiters' all you want, doesn't make it true. However, I did in fact witness you yourself attempt to exploit, so i'd think hard before I started making accusations. Unless you think disconnecting to avoid death from players is cool. Which it sounds like you do. -

Because you're both disconnectors. -
DMR mil dots for CLOSER targets
Valec replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is just obnoxious if it's correct. It pisses me off how much sense this makes. I've attempted, pretty seriously, to use current guides and methods to use milldots to calculate range. The results have been so wildly inaccurate that it just makes more sense to take a shot, then adjust accordingly after seeing where your shot landed. -
You know, it's funny. I've heard about hacked helicopters on servers and such and i've always wondered - why do they just use helicopters? I mean, those aren't enabled in the game anyway, so it's not like we'd confuse them for legit. I have wondered why I haven't heard any stories of people rolling a tank through cherno and just devastating everything.

Possible hacking on US 5 (unrepentant)

Hey, was it you HSZ guys that stole my white pickup truck? I remember there being an mcchris. It was hilarious when I came back for it and your friend shot at me, then I slaughtered him. Then mcchris got in the pickup and ran away. I was alone and passed out, so I lol'd. I'm honestly done with US 5. I doubt anybody hacked to find your shit. However, the server doesn't update for shit, and if I want to play there, I have to use such an outdated version I can't play anywhere else. It's too bad. I really enjoyed killing your friend. Who disconnected after he died in a feeble attempt to keep his gear. And then mcchris disconnected too in fear that I knew where he was too(I didn't, which he figured out when he safely hopped in the truck and ran with his tail between his legs). This was, in fact, me. It wasn't bullshit. You're a terrible, terrible shot. You literally hit me once before I found where you were firing from. Don't cry hack every time you die. There has to be a point where you have to accept personal responsibility for being terrible. -
Don't do any of what this says. I can't believe people still haven't figured it out. This is basic and simple. Do NOT put your pack down anywhere. You risk it disappearing. You find a new pack, go to it, open it. Transfer all your items into it. THEN pick it up.

DMR mil dots for CLOSER targets
Valec replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Seems to be a lot of confusion on the topic and i've looked for guides as well. Most of them seem critically flawed and will ultimately lead to incorrect calculations, so I wish you the best of luck, but i've given up on it myself. Just remember, almost every engagement in DayZ occurs within 300-400m. -
lol you people. Mad when we kill people, mad when we don't. Who cares anymore?
-
You know, I kill on sight. But one time I was also in Cherno and had just found an AKM. I was clearing out some zombies when a guy runs in shouting "Friendly friendly friendly!"... I aimed my AKM at his face... But he just seemed to pitiful. I couldn't shoot him. So I just ignored him and continued on my way and that was the last I saw of him. I have regretted that day ever since. What if he had a compass?

Playing with friends = good for the community?
Valec replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
As a player who does in fact play with real life friends, I can pretty much confirm what you've said. We don't need to play like everybody else. I know they aren't going to shoot me in the back at any point, and I don't need to make friends with other survivors, because I already have enough friends. However, I don't see any possible way to prevent this. Also, if it could be prevented, I'd probably not play much DayZ since as it is, I only play alone when I have no gear. Actually, it's embarrassing that you just compared a FPS to a MMORPG. Really, really embarrassing. Next you'll be asking for levels, a class system, and boss mobs. -
Uh.. nobody was going to call you a carebear for experiencing a bug. However, your other rejection, it being alpha? Yeah, it's alpha bro.
-
No. I have an M24 which I personally like more than the DMR so i'm not really interested. Wasted fluff post, I guess.
-
I don't want you to give me your DMR. I'd rather take it from your cold dead hands. Which, as it turns out, is fairly inevitable.
-
Holy shit. You people are so afraid of dying now that you completely ignore the fact that he was killed by an exploiter and say "Hah, thats what you get, bandit!" He's playing the damned game the way its meant to be played(You're meant to kill bandits. Without bandits, you have none to kill) and was killed by an exploiter. Server hoppers/disconnect annoy everyone. But you can't get your heads out of your asses long enough. You just see bandit and you rage. This isn't a bandit story. This is an exploiter server. It's amazing how malicious people will be towards people who don't play the game the way they do, to the point that they support exploiters killing them. Just ridiculous.

So you're starting a clan for people who are bad at video games?

SD ammo in non SD guns shoots way higher than it should.
Valec replied to Crimsonshot's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They don't know. That's the most absurd explanation i've ever heard, as it doesn't explain anything. Why the hell would SD ammo be zerod for 1,000 meters? Why would it be zero'd at all, for that matter, it's not a rifle. It's ammo. -
Amazing idea to stop player killers. Thank me later!
Valec replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just casually ignore any statements people have made that you can't refute. It's what everybody else does here anyway. DayZ does practically make everyone serial killers. Just like the real(lol) apocalypse would. Be a killer or be dead. -
It'd make me happier if you made an actual attempt to be accurate. However, all you're interested is having the game changed to suit your own personal interests, so you do something extreme like call it a deathmatch game, compare it to CoD/CS, etc. It makes you look stupid. You are stupid. ArmA2 in itself doesn't even come close to that description and it's an insult to the BIS team. You need to learn what open world PVP is. Clearly you do not understand how it works or is intended to work.
-
We're saying that's what you've done.
-
You know, there's an edit function you can use on your posts instead of double posting. To address your point, yes, notice that. What can I say, i'm pretty agitated with the community's response to player killing. Even though the main page makes it quite clear that there will, in fact, be player killing. Then, for some reason, people feel compelled to come to the forums and complain about it. Do you cry about dying in other games? Why do you think this one would be different? I know you were being sarcastic, which is what makes this so much funnier. Yes, that is EXACTLY what DayZ is. I don't know why you ever thought otherwise.
-
You mean your ping requests went back in time to arrive 40ms before you sent them? That's pretty amazing.
-
Right, but it's okay for you to call every person who kills you a 'deathmatcher' and things of that nature? Don't pretend that the disrespect is one sided. You didn't stop reading, btw. I don't know why you bothered saying that, but i'd put money on the fact you read the entire post, but wanted to be further insulting by saying you didn't. You also, by that claim, get to ignore my argument. However, it's revealed for the thin attempt at evasion that it really is.

Why Does Everyone Complain About Being Killed
Valec replied to seemingepic's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Look, I haven't ever actually had this happen to me, so I can't say anything about it either way. Getting killed while loading in does sound like a pretty annoying way to die. We do need to remember this is alpha. I would expect at some point for there to be some sort of spawn protection for when you first spawn to prevent such nonsense. You might still die after it wears off, but you'll at least have a shot at evading/fighting back. So basic PVP: I think it's fine as it is. Actually being killed while loading in? We can all agree that's obnoxious. -
I'm sure you were, carebear. This isn't turning into counter-strike with zombies. Have any of you people even played any other shooters or do you just sit back on your high horse, accusing every player who kills you of being some CS/CoD kiddie? There are no consequences for this type of behavior? Aside from the fact that it creates a very hostile environment that everyone is vulnerable to, bandits included? No consequences? You sure about that? No, want you want is some magical affect every time somebody kills somebody else that will make the killer have less fun. You want to die and somehow win as well, knowing that this person who killed you now has to suffer, even though he beat you. It's absurd.
