  1. You realize putting on camo/ghillie suit resets your kills, right? Nope, you didn't. Just cried hacker when something you didn't understand happened.
  2. You would think someone who has a supposed interest in the game would take off their blinders before making such a post. The rules are there for a very good reason, if you don't like it, fuck off. Because we all know as soon as you're allowed to do whatever you want, you're going to kick/ban people for killing you and raiding your camps. So basically, fuck off and keep your server money. You're not needed. Plenty of other people out there willing to run servers who don't mind following the VERY BASIC rules put forth. You obviously couldn't even be bothered to read them before you passworded your server.
  3. You're wrong on a point or two here. Hackers are, in fact, out of control. Any server with 20+ people has a pretty good chance of seeing a hacker at some point throughout the day. I won't suggest that it'll happen on every server at some point, or that they are 'everywhere', but they are in fact a major problem at the moment. Just because you have been lucky and haven't had a run-in with a hacker does not mean your experiences are typical. Now on to your other point that hackers cannot be stopped in any game. This is a silly way to phrase something like that. You are basically implying that since they can't be stopped, don't bother? That's a pretty idiotic perspective to have and it makes you stupid for having it, literally. Your actual brain functions are diminished now. While you can never lock down a game enough to prevent any hacking whatsoever, you can most CERTAINLY strengthen it's security to the point where you seriously minimize the amount of hackers, as well as a detection scheme that will allow you to ban them quickly after those few who do succeed in hacking do so. By the way, to call this game a 'success prior to DayZ' is foolish. Compared to the numbers before DayZ, the game was an abysmal failure. HOWEVER. Being that it was a niche game, it did fine for the ambition it had. It was never expected to sell like a AAA title. Now that it has, however, it's a much different beast. It's also probably part of the reason the dev team did NOT heavily update the game and moved on to working on their next project to provide income - because the first game didn't sell enough to justify putting a large team on updating it. Horrible, horrible post. You should be ashamed.

    Why this mod is failing

The most fun we've had in this game is taking people hostage and getting them to do random crazy shit that usually results in their deaths. Like getting people to jump off of school roofs under their own free will. At gunpoint.
  5. Duping glitch has been fixed. If you don't save the tent, sure, the items will return to it. My understanding is, when this happens, the items will leave your inventory as well. Tents are fine(actually, they're broken. New tents don't save. I'm not sure old tents even save new items anymore.). Duping is done differently now. I won't elaborate.
  6. My understanding is that Rocket is in no way an employee of BIS, nor has he been. He was a contractor, which is a bit different. I'm not sure why you think they are offering him large amounts of help here. Many of the problems with the game, as you mentioned(I think) are because of ArmA 2. BIS has not had any real amount of money until DayZ sold a shit ton of copies of ArmA 2 for them. Some bugs have already been fixed. You notice the frequent beta updates? Those are ArmA 2 updates, not DayZ. I have no idea what level of fixes we will see, but you must realize that work is still being done to the ArmA 2 engine.
  7. Uh %99 huh? Exaggerate much? Your words are unnecessary. Go away.
  8. Shoot either of the rotors and you won't get away with that. Doesn't take 7 shots.
  9. Your name is so appropriate. We've all been hit by hackers at some people. Quit your fucking whining. Don't act like Rocket isn't aware of it. Don't act like the rest of the playerbase isn't aware of it. Everybody is aware of it. Now get over it and move on. Your bitching does nothing to solve the problem.
  10. What rifle? You don't need an AS50 to take out a helicopter. You can do it with any rifle. They aren't flying tanks.
  11. Denied. You know this isn't allowed and I don't know why you'd expect special treatment. No, I don't have any power over this, I just figured i'd let you know ahead of time. You probably won't get a response to this from Rocket.
  12. Well, I can tell you one thing. The former ALREADY happens. The latter will NEVER happen. Soooo... I guess what i'm saying here is, shut up. Don't act like the two options you mentioned are the only possibilities, or even realistic possibilities. They aren't.

    Anti-Hack CounterMeasures

This all sounds great in theory. Except that it sounds more like things that need to be addressed within the ArmA 2 engine, not DayZ. Rocket is a mod maker. He can't tinker with the DayZ engine itself. So you need to figure out what's doable within the scope of a modification. These might be good ideas to consider for the standalone release, though.
  14. I don't think anybody ever suggested there wasn't, so why are you phrasing it in a manner to imply otherwise? Also, just to put it out there, a lot of people cry hacker just because they got killed. I myself had a run in with a hacker today. Got teleported to a random location so I immediately disconnected.
  15. M9 SD tag. You can figure out the rules. Now go. YOU'RE IT!
  16. It is an exploit. Just not a bannable offense. When I say not bannable, I mean the server operator does not have the right to ban said player. However, eventually this will be tracked by the hive and when patterns are established, you can bet your ass disconnectors will be banned.
  17. You guys are only pretending to be stupid, right? The reason it hasn't been done in a manner like you suggest is because there's no way to tell the difference between an intentional disconnect, a crash, or someone's internet shitting the bed. Use some fucking common sense. There's a fix in the works, and it will work. Unlike this hair-brained idea.
  18. Must be your first day with vehicles. You have to save them wherever you want them to be. Otherwise, they will revert to the previous location they were at before the restart. It's also possible that it's just the restart bug, and they will re-appear on next restart.
  19. It's always nice to destroy something beautiful.
  20. No, it's not, and the server is not allowed to ban you for it either. Know your rules before you try to tell people what is bannable and what is not. Hacking is the ONLY allowable reason to ban people. There's absolutely no wiggle room here.

    Why this mod is failing

This mod isn't failing, so your post and all that follow it are pointless.
  22. Dumb idea. The answer is: No, this will not happen, no matter how you vote. It will literally never happen. Let this topic die now.
  23. Nothing is 100%. If you have a 100% success rate, you just haven't played enough. We use the flush command and it does do the trick most of the time, but sometimes there's nothing doing except a total restart of the game. So no, neither this or any other fix i've seen so far is 100%.
