I was with a couple mates at NWAF, I spotted a contact and tracked him up to the northern tents. We took it upon ourselves to rob him as we prefer not to kill mindlessly.
-
Me and my buddy Bosco were looking for some interactions in the far north east. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan and as usual things spiral out of control real quick.. Here is what happened, hope you all enjoy :)
-
Hehe I was waiting for someone to pick up on that ;)

Me and my buddy BootlegBosco encountered some cannibals at Berezino. If there is one thing I hate more than campers, its cannibals.. So we decided to take it upon ourselves to.. take out the trash ;)

TRUMPET (.22) ROBBERY! - DayZ Standalone - TheLonelyBandit
TheLonelyBandit posted a topic in Gallery
After spotting a guy following me I switch things up and end up following him into Polana. As I consider myself a true bandit I made it my objective to rob him instead of kill him straight up. This is what happens... Hope you enjoy :) -
A little discussion and perfect example of something that is often overlooked in DayZ encounters :/ Enjoy! (Please keep any and all comments/debates civil)

A tough situation at NWAF followed by my thoughts about the situation.

Banditry Isn't Easy.. - TheLonelyBandit

I've tested that scope quite a bit and have decided I'd prefer to have it on me.. just in case I can use it in the right scenario. Glad you enjoyed the vid mate :) -
G'day Brian hope your having a good one, figured I'd pitch in a question or two for the first time here. 1. Will modding have complete freedom with the game as it did (for the most part, obviously not 100%) with the DayZ Mod? (For example will mods such as overpoch and epoch be allowed to be created) or will you guys restrict modding to some degree? 2. Are you (YOU personally) worried that modding will lead the DayZ community away from what the mod was originally intended for, which was obviously to provide a true survival experience. To a more arcade-like version of the game as it did with DayZ Mod with mods such as overpoch, etc.

The DayZ Survivalist Challenge (Standalone Edition) Trailer
TheLonelyBandit posted a topic in Gallery
So quite some time ago I did a thing called The DayZ Survivalist Challenge on the DayZ Vanilla Mod. I forced certain limitations on myself (Such as 1pp and crossbow only) and forced myself to travel to the most dangerous areas on the map. Basically a true hardcore series, if you are interested in seeing REAL survival here. Then please feel free to check out my little trailer/announcement. Much love all, have a great day. -
Hopefully this will help some of you guys out here get geared safely! REMEMBER PLEASE, this guide is for NEW players that wish to get geared SAFELY. I usually do not reccommend avoiding players however if people wish to get geared without being killed by some jackass on a hill sniping this guide will teach people how to do that!

HOW TO GET STARTED! - DayZ Standalone Guide/Walkthrough
TheLonelyBandit replied to TheLonelyBandit's topic in Gallery
No I am not being "silly". The majority of streamers and youtubers that show complete play throughs do kill themselves for a better spawn (eg Mr.Blackout & M1ndr I've personally seen do so). Killing yourself for a "better" spawn is not abusing a game mechanic or 'breaking' the game as you claim. The game lacks a spawn selector, of which there is no reason to not have one as the DayZ Mod has it and it works perfectly fine. My guide offers a temporary solution until one is put in the game. Whereas forcing loot to constantly respawn not only breaks the loot system of a server, but ultimately leads to massive stability issues and performance issues. I've seen entire server communities destroyed by loot cyclers that took it to the extreme. But who suffers for somebody killing themselves? Nobody. It has zero affect on other players, the bodies will despawn within 15 minutes (roughly) hence the server receives zero negative impact. The only possible way for it to be negative is in a role play scenario as it clearly breaks the immersion somewhat. Which is up to the individual player hence none of mine or your business. That is why spawn cyclers are scumbags. They break the game. Wheras killing yourself for a different spawn is just part of the game. It is not a glitch in the slightest possible way. All in all, there is zero physical impact made by suiciding upon the server or the community. The only reason there is any issue at all is that you're not happy people aren't playing the way that YOU consider to be 'proper'. This is YOUR problem. Not a problem of the community, nor of the developers (after all they are the only ones that can change anything). I am very open to any ----constructive criticism----. However comparing my advice to that of nothing more then a idiot that destroys the community (such as a glitcher/loot cycler) is not constructive. It is blatant disrespect and nothing but a poor attempt at making my production look bad. Having your own personal rule set and playstyle is absolutely fine. I don't care. But when you try to enforce it on others by being so incredibly rude and arrogant by shining my guide in a ( incredibly overlyexaggerated) negative light. That is when I will get a 'attitude', and rightly tell you to move on as I am not looking for flamers in my youtube comments. I have said what I wanted to say, explained everything you have attempted to argue for quite simply, in the end all it comes down to is that you dislike people having a different "moral" rule set and overall play style as your own. That is your problem, not mine nor anyone elses in this community. If you wan't people to play a certain way, make a thread about about it. I am done with this discussion, please refrain from commenting on my videos in the future as I simply don't need any toxicity on my channel. Thank you. -

HOW TO GET STARTED! - DayZ Standalone Guide/Walkthrough

That's good to hear. When I role play I won't kill myself. I'd wish killing ones self wasn't necessary, or so easy to abuse. But the fact is it is so easy so the majority of people will do it. I find lone wolf players don't do it as much though. -
This video is a discussion about why people constantly seem to avoid interaction, even in the frequent situation where they are not in danger (for example in a stale mates in buildings).

DayZ Interaction Discussion "Why Won't You Talk to me?!"
TheLonelyBandit replied to TheLonelyBandit's topic in Gallery
In regards to your statement about bandits I'm not sure what you mean exactly. When I refer to someone as a bandit (such as myself) I don't necessarily instantly think of murder as prerequisite to being a bandit. A bandit is somebody that wrongs other survivors to survive. Either by robbing, lying and stealing or in the worst case murders them (should always be a last resort). As a true bandit I try to keep interactions open as possible while also forcing my own agenda to be priority one. Nor is my video directed at certain play styles. IF anything I guess I direct it at "friendly" players that constantly find bullshit justifications to avoid interaction and overall allow themselves to murder without a guilty conscience. There is nothing bandity about that. A true bandit would embrace being labeled as a bandit. Its what we do and who we are in the world of DayZ. That is why I call out other players when they kill without a REAL reason. Most of the time they get super defensive and bitch to me for having banit in my name (no shit sherlock :P ). The bigger issue is people just avoiding interaction all-together when it is totally possible. Like in one of the comments of this vid a gentleman got shot in the back while on overwatch. What was the point in him dying? To me thats a perfect oppurtunity to have some fun with him. Either way thanks to all for you comments, interesting opinions :) -
Hope you guys enjoy the interactions :)
