You lose "some things". You should lose everything. "A tent can hold up to five backpacks, ten weapons & tools and fifty general items." - DayZ Wiki So yeah, if you have a tent near/at capacity you'll lose a lot... and this is a similar situation to knowing the location of someone else's tent and stealing their things on a new spawn, the difference being you have the knowledge because you can't just forget... All of your things could be stolen before you even get back to it, which did actually happen to me. Yep, I think they last 6 days after the owner dies... -
Oh no' date=' not one of these again...[/color'] You make your own missions' date=' like my goal to find a vehicle on my home server... or to find a tent city with my newly acquired M67 Frag, steal as much as possible and leave the place in remnants of it's former self.[/color']

You do start from the beginning on death, the tent is still your old characters so even if you take as much as you can carry you'll lose some things if you're a loner. -
Okay, so recently I was killed. How you ask? Well, I only had time to get a certain distance from the Airfield, I disconnected. When logging back in later to help my friend out there (he had a broken leg) I was shot and killed before the black screen had left. I was kind of happy but kind of annoyed... So my new life started and I was overwhelmed again but I wanted to meet someone to play with, the last PvP I had was seeing some guy south of Stary Sobor, I switched to my hatchet and ran ahead of him leaning side to side so he knew I was friendly, he moved back and started to lean to.. Suddenly, his enfield raised to his eye and he sent a bullet at me. I was down, unconscious without the hourglass, unable to move but able to loot the bodies around me as he started to shoot zombies rushing to the scene. He lost some blood but ended up killing them, during this time I swapped all of my supplies onto a zombie body and hid it. As he attempted to loot me I started stealing items from his backpack, it was hilarious seeing us in a clicking contest, I then put the things in my backpack as he was in my regular inventory. I logged out here, thinking I would have just died wasting his things. Nope... I logged in with 11k blood, all of his items but bleeding, I bandaged myself and continued playing to meet up with my friend and give him the morphine he needed. So, in essence... This game is insane but I'm glad I'm involved in the insanity of Alpha.

I'd like this, this would solve some of the problems of ghosting and server hopping, also it'd allow for new maps to be added and such. -

No, namely because I think they're too common now... I would like to see less, but slightly lighter nights without the ability to change gamma/birghtness so that it's possible to play without them but with difficulty seeing. -
There are technically already RP servers, the host decides... I've joined a few but they never seem to be moderated really... But you really have to decide if someone RP'ing a crazed killer, why can't they Kill on Sight?

It's true enough you shouldn't log out in stupid locations, but I had to rush out earlier when playing. I came back hopping in near the airfield but not actually in it, I got as far away as time allowed, before the black screen even dissipated I heard a couple shots then about 20 seconds later "YOU ARE DEAD" popped up... I think the last thing that should load for your game should be you so others can't see you logging in until it's a fair chance of fighting, at least while 97% of people are KoS. I'm not going to lie, I was Day 6 on my character, I had some good equipment and I'm so happy to be starting again because I had too much and it was simple to survive but it annoyed me I died before starting to play again. -

Anyhow, it's an okay review and you seem just like a regular player which is good but the game is still in Alpha, I think you could compose a good argument for some cases for and against suggestions rather than judge the game before it's even got a release date.

Okay, I like this idea, there's already a thread which can be found here, it describes the idea pretty well and I suggest you implement some of his information into your post to make it a more compelling argument as neither are really fully explained, although your point is obvious I think you should pitch it at a more professional standard. Character death should carry more weight

Read the first page, tl;dr. But, I have to contribute my idea since I've had the same thoughts. Death is too easily dealt with. I think it's because of how easy the game is and the loot isn't difficult to get even if it's rare. I would like to see a severe decrease in ranged weapons, a slight cut down on medical supplies and an increase in zombies. This way, people would have less chance to Kill on Sight when they can barely get by with a hatchet and know that if they get hit once they may not have a bandage or morphine to keep them alive and well. Also, they will cherish their Makarov or Revolver rather than skipping over and just looking for a PDW or M9SD. This means that having one guy with an AK in a group of 5 would be rare and really respected rather than large groups coming equipped as a small army to a town. I don't think this specifically punishes any play style other than casual as you'll have to work to stay alive and have any chance of getting good gear. -
You know how difficult this would be in real life? Also how difficult it would be to get in the game?

Yeah, the reason this mod took off was creating your own story, saying "there's nothing to do" is metagame meaning you've done everything you think you should do. Why not try something small, like take over a small town with pretty much no loot? Then move to something bigger, maybe Berezino? Then eventually gain control of Cherno or Elektro, taking out those hordes of zombies and new spawns. I do like the idea of things that are inaccessible unless you have certain gear though, like you may need an ATV for a bridge jump? Or a chopper or boat for an island?

I think the allure of the mod is that it's on a realistic warfare simulator, but with a hypothetical twist of a zombie apocalypse. Let's be honest, some people would be more prepared than others. Here's where I also dislike "realistic" because this sometimes can't go hand in hand with gameplay or limitations. We just have to put up with people that think saying "realistic" makes it realistic and therefor should be implemented. The best course of action? -1 these stupid idea's one a time. Edit: Throwing in my opinion on why it's stupid... So, we see threads on End Game and what to do when you get there but, what is end game? Do you gain some types of skill or end up in a zone? Like most other games, no. You have no specific sets of skills that are better than others, what you do have is a progression system completely based on the equipment you have and how long you survive to keep it and reign in more. So why start with a pistol? The point of the current progression system is that you start with nothing (or as little to nothing as possible) and work your way up to being self sufficient. You have all the blood, morphine and epi-pens you could ever need. You have 3/4 weapons and a seemingly endless supply of ammo if you remain in the wilderness. Maybe a vehicle? Maybe a large group of friends? Maybe that one can of Mountain Dew that still evades me to this day... Also, the most valuable thing in this game? Team work. Starting without the ability to shoot someone else or hack them to pieces is a good way to start people working together as they're in the same situation. They each have nothing and have everything to gain. Whilst when spawning with a pistol, I used to find myself in gun fights on my way to starting cities because someone wanted more magazines or some of the other crappy starting equipment.

+1 for the idea, I also did this on the "Hey, I know you!" thread, both seem set out pretty well, I like how you described 20m which is a fair distance or equal range through scopes which isn't as distinct in the other thread. I like it, I definitely support a wider range of skins or customization of characters but I think this should be put in place too. -
