  1. If it was a private shard and you are friendly with the admin, you could ask him to have a look at the log file of that day. In case it was death by player, you will have an entry, anything else will show up as if you killed yourself. But tbh, I think someone was either crouched to the left and you didn't see him, or by the angle maybe through the window.

    Stable Branch - 0.58 Discussion

Haven't had any problems with chopper spawns on our sever, but I noticed that weapons spawn only 5/10. I found something like 20 clean shoppers on our closed server and only every second had a weapon, but all of them at least 6 items military gear.

so which one should I use?

Personally I prefer the UMP as a backup weapon and the MP5 as a primary. But most of the time I just decide depending on my sidearm. If I'm using the 1911/FNX45 I stay with the UMP and if I'm using the P1/CR75 I use the MP5, just to avoid carrying to many different types of ammo.

    Instant infection.

I think I read a while ago, that the devs considered implementing a Z virus infection for players. To be honest, it would makes sense when you start thinking about soft skills and perks. At least it would pose a additional threat to the Zs and you would consider attracting their attention twice. -- My two cents -- It could be like being infected gives you a certain time before die from the infection, or you could try to find some sort of suppressants, that hold the virus under control as long you take them. Then on one side the virus could give you more stamina and damage resistance, but drains your resources faster and increases your body temp. And at the end if you don't find meds or run out, you die and turn into a NPC zombie, this way you would be also a threat to your group ;)
  5. I would say loot spawn has been improved a lot in 0.58, but also I played only a few hours on public servers since the update. On our private server with low pop, loot is still good, even though it doesn't get "cleaned up" that frequent by players moving loot. But you can really feel, that moving inland is a must to start gearing up, because even on a presistence reset and fresh restarted server, loot is quite thin along the coast. But to be honest, that's how it should be. Also the loot is better balanced between the buildings and I didn't encounter a single lootsplosion since the update.
  6. Totally agree with the OP. The hunter is also me and my friends preferred play style. I like the rush you get in PVP, or any kind of interaction with players, and it's fun for sure, but at the end DayZ is supposed to be a zombie apocalypse survival game, so the hunting of Zs and securing areas should remain a main aspect of the game mechanics imho. On the other hand, we are still quite early in the development and I'm sure there is still a lot to come in regards to Zs and the PVE play style, so I'm not really worried. So in the future I'm really looking forward to team up with players to clear towns and defend our base against the hoards of the undead ;)

    DayZ is peaceful

Hello together, theSpike here. Been playing DayZ for almost a year and clocked around 300 hrs, but never bothered with the forums until now. My play style is friendly, when friendly approached, and I really like the interactions in the game, but I'm also ready for any kind of firefight. Not really a big fan of pure PVP, but with the Zs gone atm there is a slight lack of alternatives. If you're interested in some cooperative looting and gearing up for the fight/survival feel free to shoot me a PM. Cheers
