I didn't say Fallout will never be amazing, just that currently, without the upcoming things you mentioned, it's just another FPS. It's not bad by any stretch, just doesn't currently live up to the hype..

In honesty no it isn't all that good. It's well made but shallow in my opinion, great for a few days but with nowhere near the longevity of something like DayZ. It's a standard FPS with aspects of an RPG, but has enough of a cult following from back when games like that were a little more rare to make the general gaming crowd excited for it's release. It's shiny and polished, but kinda samey after hour 20 and the map is kinda small compared to the pre-release hype. We should all try to remember that the DayZ developers aren't supposed to be providing us a fun or finished game at this stage. If you're complaining it's broken or not fun you're probably under the impression you're owed something fun and working, which is not what you payed for. When the game is finished, then and only then can people complain it's broken or lacking in some way without sounding like a tit. "I was back in DayZ and trying harder a couple of weeks later." - Nice work, it is this kind of attitude that will separate you from the "waaah it's broken and full of KOSers" crowd. Ah man i just watched the DevTracker WIP video, and yeah that is really irritating. It may not be game breaking, but for god sake someone please consider just turning off that noise..

Haven't done any double carrying in .59 yet, but is it not the same method as .58 where you have to drag the gun in your hands to the one on your shoulder to swap without dropping one?

The part about seeing the world around you while looking through a scope isn't necessarily true, it depends if you open the other eye really doesn't it :thumbsup:

Do something for your little self, and run your own server before calling others with more initiative clowns. My 2nd point regarding the low playerbase atm is of course FALLOUT 4. Pornhub has seen a decrease of just over 10% total worldwide traffic since the day fallout came out (#KickassFactoid), so we can assume it's hit competing games much harder even than that. This is a great point that is very often overlooked. The playerbase can't be dwindling or dying off because the playerbase isn't even here yet. We are testers, here purely to assist the devs with their work. When the game is released comments on the playerbase will make a lot more sense.

You won't be getting any extra health or reduced weapon sway or anything like that, and soft skills have already been WIDELY discussed as you yourself mentioned. You wouldn't get any better at football by spending a long time looking at the pitch, you have to actually play the game. On that note i don't think any bonus should be applied just for spending time on a server doing nothing.

A lot of people are just playing experimental right now which is contributing to the stable .58 servers being pretty empty.

Consider adjusting your strategy if it seems too hard, likely you are looking in all the wrong places. Everyone starts on the coast, so food and drink are quickly consumed by a constant stream of fresh spawns, as you move inland you will find more stuff. Also, apple trees are your friend and provide both food and water in pretty much every settlement in the game.

Yeah it might be crappy, but it's how life works. I'm not saying nobody will trade with you, just that your odds of attracting the shiny stuff are increased by having some kind of forum history. It's a bit like trying to take out a loan with no credit history or job. If you participate in the community a bit you'll be surprised how many people are willing to help you out :) I probably have a couple, get hold if you still need.

That doesn't work. A person's steam ID and DayZ ID are seperate and changable. So again, i'd like to know how i as a server admin on a public server, can link someone's in game name to their GUID?

Erm, how long ago? When i was a server admin i (and other server admins) were not privy to the correct information which would allow us to link a player name with their GUID. Not sure if this is still the same.

Yeah i've heard from multiple reliable sources that the 420 servers are operated by a group of hackers, and have also seen several 420 members using hacks / cheats. Best to avoid the lot of them really, not that they're that dangerous or good at the game mind you without the hacks.

I didn't choose a side in this discussion because i think the AKs is hands down the winner when it comes to back pack size full auto. Fits in your bag, fires assault rifle rounds. Boom.

I've rescued a couple of people from this thread ages back. That said i tend to let people die if i think they were just too busy loot cycling to bother sorting out something to drink / eat.
