  1. lol ... I wish I'd seen this thread earlier, I spent 2 hours running around yesterday trying to find my tents. :P
  2. It's not that hard to stock up on morphine before travelling north, if you run out it's because you are failing to plan ahead properly, if stocks are low travel south and collect more - it's hardly rocket science is it.
  3. maybe wire cutters should be introduced into the game, that way barbed wire would only be an obstacle for zeds.

Broken bones ... only one way to fix!

I find it's quite important to stock up on morphine in the early part of the game, I never travel north unless I have about 4 or 5 morphine injectors in my inventory. It's an essential medical supply and quite hard to replace - the key to survival is proper planning, it's a part of the game so get used to it.

    Hatchet!

The hatchet seems a bit overpowered at the moment - maybe you should take some damage from a zed whenever you use it as you are up so close . It's got some wierd stuff going on with it aswell, I had one earlier and tried to put it in my pack so I could pick up a crossbow and it obviously disapeared because my starting pack didn't have enough slots. I was left with something in my inventory called hatchet but it only took up one slot and had the icon for shotgun cartridges, after losing my crossbow bolt I decided to pick up another hatchet but was unable to, the option was there but I unable to pick it up - I dropped my crossbow so I had enough slots available. all a bit odd.

    Ban for playing old versions

is the edit function messed up on this forum ? I just made a post and tried to edit it and it got completely messed up . :( anyway back on topic. sorry didn't mean to appear hostile, I just wanted you to elaborate a bit. Whilst I agree with that for the most part, what happens if a certain build is completely broken by that what I mean is what happens if there's a bug that kills performance to the point where it's unplayable, or something pretty dire like that. Surely under those circumstances it'd be perfectly acceptable to go back to the previous build until a hotfix is released ? Also what about being able to switch back and forth in order to make comparisons between certain features in different builds ? I don't think you can just have a blanket ban on all previous versions because that's not always particularly useful either.

    Ban for playing old versions

That's a bit of an empty statement, care to back that up with some reasoning ? how exactly does it harm development ?
  8. I think the problem is that the new changes were just too major, zeds weren't that bad in 1.7.0 all they needed was a little bit of refinement to make them slightly more threatening ,these new changes are just too extreme especially when coupled with the lack of a starting weapon.

    can't pick up hatchet...

hatchets are pretty broken at the moment, I had one and was using it to kill zeds then decided to pick up a crossbow which turned out to be far less effective than the hatchet so I dropped the crossbow and found I could no longer pick up a hatchet (any hatchet), also what's the deal with having ammo for the hatchet ? I presume that's what it was anyway - I had to reload it before I could use it and saw an icon for shotgun shells in my inventory named hatchet. the whole thing seems like a total fudge, I'd much rather just have hatchets the way they were before (used for harvesting wood only) if this is the price we have to pay for having melee weapons in the game.
  10. I wouldn't mind starting without a weapon if stealth wasn't so utterly borked in the latest versions, at the moment I'm having to run past any decent loot I find because I've usually got an army of zeds on my arse.
  11. I think this might lead to a new exploit - version hopping. what's to stop someone starting a game in 1.7 or earlier so they spawn with a makarov etc. then switching versions to 1.7.1 or later and keeping all their starting gear ?

How often are your camps raided?

I've raided loads of camps they are usually poorly hidden and just asking to be looted, I've only ever had one of my camps raided and that's because it was located in a stupid spot less than half a mile outside the nearest town.
  13. Just reduce the amount of ammo available, people won't waste bullets on newbies if ammo is a rare commodity, they'll go after the kitted out dudes so that they can aquire more ammo .
  14. For the moment, is a mod, a very good and funny mod, but i bought Arma 2 Combined Operations and downloaded the mod, not bought a game called Day Z Sorry for my Bad English :s It's not just a mod though is it, it's what's called a total conversion and it doesn't have to bear any resemblance to the original game whatsoever. The main reason DayZ was made for ArmA 2 is because it has the only engine capable of producing this type of gameplay. Vanilla ArmA 2 hasn't actually gone anywhere if you want to play it you still can.
