For what? Isn't any armor to take out in DayZ.. then good luck finding any ammo for it.

I haven;t had any problems personally. But I have seen some regulars that play on a server that I do. Getting kicked for pings, when they used to not. sounds like there may be another issue with the Arma beta patches.

So then the guy just appeared around you? sounds like a teleporter to me.

So one server hopper killed another one? Or some guy just happened to show up next to you when you spawned, out in the middle of nowhere, then killed you with a sniper from close range while you were lighting him up? If the 2nd description is the what happened, you just got killed by a teleporting griefer. Which is happening now.

Just go to the mirror on this site.. download the files then unzip them into your dayz folder in Arma2: OA. Also, youtube has videos. When in doubt, Google it. :)

Could be the server. Try different servers, some seem to have issues with types of chat/voice.

I think a canteen should be good for more than 1 drink. Seriously, what survivor slams a whole canteen? 2 or 3 would be fine.

It is a reasonable request. The servers I play on either have set times or admins who do us the the favor and let us know. Doesn't stop tents being fucked up though, but that is a rant for another thread lol. If that is common practice on the servers you were on to just dump everyone, then that is pretty shitty. Never know, could be bad timing with a crashed server.

But I mean how were the numbers generated? Is there a game file or something that tells this? How would you know the values now after patch, etc.

Yep. the ARMA 2 patch messed with some guns. The 45 caliber handguns are now as weak as a m9 or the glock.

Pretty typical, they need to just do the like 20 seconds to log out like every other PVP game out there. I don't see why it is even an issue. When I log, I am plenty safe somewhere.

yea beta patch royally screwed up some weapons. Revolver and 1911 are as weak as a m9 was before. I've heard the enfield is pretty weak now too. I'm not sure what other weapons were messed with. It was better before, when the size of a bullet was what determined the stopping power. A 45 caliber or a 7.62 should royally fuck up a target. not take 4 shots like the much smaller round.

Correct, player account is your CD key. Period.

In my case I was actually in admin. As it is the only account I had set up for my pc. Not sure what the deal was but I still believe it may be the work around for attempting to uninstall it all and then redownloading arma etc on steam.

This may prevent some people from even having to do the uninstall of OA and redownloading it.

Actually i figured it out. May want to add this small item to your post. You may be required to make a 2nd Windows user account to get it to change your cdkey in registry. Then you just make that copy and you can go ahead and remove that user account. Just transfer the new registry file over and go back to your user account. This fixed my problem of STEAM not changing the registry by booting up a different steam account. :)

Alright I am having an issue. The idea seems sound and has worked for others so not the issue. Ok i've made a second account and all that. Copied my main character to a reg file. The problem I am having is the 2nd steam account game is not changing the cd key in the registry. I tried uninstalling the OA game and redownloading it.. this didn't work either. I can pull up the new cd key in steam obviously, But, it never asked me to input it into the new install file on the 2nd account. So I am unable to make a second registry save for a 2nd character. Am I missing something or anyone know how I can get it to let me enter in the new CD key for the new account? I've tried the fixing cache option and all that.

Body would be there sure.. but seriously we don;t start with anything of real value. I think it is a non-issue. Duplicated bandages and painkillers seriously wouldn't break the game. lol..

Ok here is one I haven't seen asked yet. Any idea when it is going to be mandatory for servers to be running correct versions? This has caused some big problems.
