Wait, performance improved? For me it has got worse in .58 :/ strange, i read of another guy who said so. for me & all buddies fps got up. .57: 15-25 in cities, with drops to 5. .58: nearly stable 30 in cities with drops to 20. is your system on the high or low side? greets

the winchester seems to spawn quiet randomly in civ buildings & cars, has become really rare. hunting scopes arent really that hard to find, seek rarely visited deer stands. greets

didnt try that yet, but i read that u need the little brown bottle + syringe. plz report back if it worked. antibiotics can also be found in the guard houses and old barrack buildings. greets

1. during .58 a lot of work had been put in optimisation, fps went up significantly, player desyn has been reduced but not eliminated. 2. this applies to many of your points: most parts of the engine are getting rewritten an implemented on a modular basis. bugs arent fixed on basis of the old engine, as e.g. the clipping errors, which will be resolved when the according piece of the engine is implemented. things to come: renderer, soundengine, ui, player controller - sure i missed something 3. never heard of that 4. price went up as wee are reaching the end of alpha. its always been clearly stated that the reduced price were meant for early access participents. there has been some chatter that the coming update will bring some major engine changes, maybe thats the reason. 5. idk how to measure such stuff. there had been more issues with cle than anticipated which slowed a bit and .58 had been longer in experimental than usual, as they were struggling with some bugs they wanted to get rid of. always keep in mind, we only see a piece of what they are doing. most work isnt in yet. 6. hacking had been reduce significantly and i didnt see many reports either. encountered one speedhacker this year. 7. theres a truck in for several months, three cars coming next update. 8. depends on where you hit them, except the .22 headshot is one shot. there has also been some discussion if armor had been changed or not. but most likely problems with syncronisation client-server-client. tho basicly balancing -> beta 9. zombies are really rare atm (animals arent), they had problems as the (wip) ai ate the servers performance. will take some time till they return (not before .60, maybe later). loot distribution has been changed in its basic functioning, as cle and persistence are in by now. but loot will get reduced in the future. atm there are some problems, but tbh most servers got a lotta loot. basically most of your questions are talked about in the status reports, maybe you dig into them or spend some hours ingame and judge yourself. theres no objectivity in taste, what you like or not will always be subjective. the current version is really good and if you hadnt played a while theres a lot of new items and mechanics to explore. bugs are quiet rare and its enjoyable. except the missing zeds theres nothing that should keep you from playing. idt that bi will publish its financial resources to you, but i also dont think that they will ruin their reputation over dayz. that the old engine doesnt fit dayz is clear and has been stated by the devs years ago. maybe thats why they are rewriting it... imho you arent well informed and theres a lot more the forum has to offer - go check it out. greets @papazombie - too dumb to realize

1. basically vahidking is right, but there are problems with persistence and loot respawn. the devs are working on a hotfix but it seems to take some time. worth nothing to mention that, items in players inventor/tents/barrels/backpacks etc won't count into account for CLE (YET) this is unclear, i have read different statements from the devs (except players inventory). my experience has been that there is massive loot when the servers started or got wiped, but after some time of hoarding especially the military locations got empty. theres an exploit which with players leech the high grade loot, if that is stored on a server it reaches its maximum and stops spawning (imho, not knowing if its right). 2. hicks said that the total count of loot hasnt been lowered, but the dispersion has changed. check the changelogs and wobos youtube channel to get a understanding. 3. that aint right, ive seen loot spawning in front of me several times. but i guess they are going to change that. greets

What logic drives the decision to allow constant loot cycling? basicly the possibility to switch servers if yours is full. i guess this problem will be solved in some way later in developement, as there are many easy possibilities. not doing it now might be explained as it isnt really important for developement and the sooner you release a restriction the sooner exploits are found. private hives hab been mentioned. greets

you are right, as the mentioned examples are obvious and had been talked about several times. but the devs are aware of that and trying to solve those probs, as fair circumstances have a high priority in developement. wait for the new tech to come (renderer -> trees & gras, new sound engine, optimization -> desync) and maybe inform yourself a bit more to get a better understatement of what to expect. greets -

@OP nice little project. Some suggestions: maybe try smaller calibers and/or more distance. iam really sure, that the full platecarrier protects you from some calibers, but cant really say which ones. hitbox can be clarified by checking the vests state - if ruined its been a hit. i love wobos videos, but always keep in mind that they were taken some time ago - i think that some are outdated by now. regarding his results towards bulletpenetration it seems logical that different vests protect from different calibers. one question, what kind of damage can u see in server logs? is it also shock damage? good luck during the weekend, but keep in mind that the devs will implement the new damage system in the coming updates. might be that your results are only valid for a short time. greets -

1. nope, i didnt 2. yes you can 3. lifetime has been set to 45 days, but only for .58. check the status report 4. they travel in groups now, no sure locations anymore 5. plant materials, check google for details 6. sure 7. normally only appears when you get too close to a fire. might be a bug 8. didnt try, but has been exploited. i charge five bucks per question, will send you the bill. greets -

i think they already looked into it, as it used to happen often. from my experience (=0 for months including all friends, and we play a lot) and the very few amount of complaints in the past months this doesnt seem to be a major issue. and if had learned one thing - there is no safe place in chernarus. even in the woods someone could have followed you and shot you while doing the logout dance. even if not, there are many known errors - it aint the question wether they disturb you or not. its just the question if it makes sense to solve them now, or if its a waste of resource. if it happens that often to you, i wanna ask how often you change servers. rarely appearing bugs can hit those often who extensively face specific situations. and you know, even on low pop servers the woods around tent city arent a safe location - hopper sniping has become a famous sport. whatever the case may be, if you play in alpha you shouldt complain bout loosing your char. im sure the devs as well as bi have a slight interest in creating a good and sucessfull game. you can ether wait for it to be finished or report bugs and live with them. greets -
seems buggy, but petrovka has become quiet a hotspot as its one of the only spawnlocations for tents in the northwest. you never know, but those bugs will be fixed via enginechanges. greets to the coast

just to clarify, my frustration was referring to the communication towards the community, not the game nor its state. .58 is still a good and enjoyable version with a lot of work put into it. dont wanna be named a hating, unpatient whiner. greets

i disagree, the private server i play on has been wiped recently and the lags occured less than a day after that - and the experimental servers had been full to the top in the last few weeks. in addition the bug has been known before the release. tbh i dont think that the current stable matches the last iteration of .58 exp. i didnt experience the issues with loot cleanup and cle in experimental that are now present, nor that lag issue, even tho we did have and have seen massive camps. i dont really mind if problems occur, but the way of communication coming from devside is really annoying. promising status reports on twitter that never come to live, releasing changelogs for the community and potential buyers, that include many features which are only in code but not playable for presumably at least a month - and not pointing that out. imho this doesnt help to get understatement for the probs during alpha state, only raises frustration and lowers trust. guess im a bit frustrated right know <_<

its almost the way every squad works (as far as i seen) so what about giving those guys a slight advantage, not a game changer, but still helps. i think with the way devs are going this will be possible, as softskills will allow the players to get better at stuff they do often. i believe the solution, that specialisation is mainly defined by the selected gear remains the better one, as e.g. the medic cant respawn at his squad leader. dont get me wrong, i like the idea of classes as im a big fan of roleplay games, but i think it doesnt fit to dayz. e.g. breaking point i was first hyped about, but it quickliy got me bored. @noctoras - no offense. im simply quiet sure that the devs wont change their opinion towards this. greets

didnt drink a found bottle in months, you can place them upwards. but to me thats the same behaviour as killing bambis at the beach, trolling in kavalla or placing landmines at random places. id prefer to die on a stair than by that kind of shit. karma will get ya :D

one last word, then ill flee the discussion imho awareness of your surrounding is the most potent weapon of all hitting geared players at surprise is always just 50:50 at max I was still trying to find a gun by checking all potential loot spawns thats why you dont find much, awnser in my above post keep surviving
