    Gun Range

What about having something like this as an Extra, accessible straight from the main menu? It could be a single instance which loads directly on your machine, and can offer every weapon and attachment currently in the game. This would mean it's easily accessible to everyone as a training tool, and let people try out all combinations of weapons and their attachments. Hell, you could even stick this into the game world as a location, too, but having it available in a solo situation would be great.

    Guns jaming

I haven't had a gun break yet, but I agree with most of this. I like the jamming idea, and the increased rate the dirtier the gun is. Maybe things like holding the gun in hand while crawling around on the ground outside, through sand, or in water could deplete it's cleanliness faster. I think besides the gun cleaning kit, there should be other ways to clean it, such as lubricants and a rag. Having a gun break altogether, even if it's an extremely small chance, doesn't really seem like a good idea. I think guns should be able to be ruined by being shot/axed/caught in an explosion, though.

    sizes in clothes and equipment

I can appreciate where you're coming from with regards to the realism this would add, but I honestly don't believe it would add anything of quality to the game. Struggling to find clothing in your size would be frustrating, especially if you randomly ended up with a *rarer* body size, and I don't think anybody would really enjoy that struggle. As it is, you have to be on the look out for warm clothing and rain-proof clothing. Adding sizes is (as others have said) more work for the devs which wouldn't really be good for the game in the long run.

    New death effect

As somebody who generally plays Dayz alone, but uses third party programs to chat with friends around the country while doing so, I can honestly say that if Dayz ends up with something to block or stop use of third party chat programs, I will likely stop playing the game. I enjoy being social with my online friends even if we're not in the same game. On topic, I do feel like something different is needed for the death screen. I understand why it would be problematic to allow a dead character to see what happened, what I would like to have is a text or "paper doll" explanation of what happened. Don't give me the player name, but tell me I was struck in the head, heart, or throat by a bullet, or a crossbow bolt, or an axe. Tell me I bled out. Tell me the zombie took me down, or I broke my spine from a high fall. It might help to find buggy deaths too, considering if you're standing on the ground and receive the "died from a fall" message, it would point to something buggy happening.

    How was your Day(Z)?

Thanks for the tip, I was able to get my images to post now!

    How was your Day(Z)?

For my fourth day, I haven't had a very INTERESTING day, but it was certainly productive. I began all the way Northeast in Svetlojarsk, and found out that the friends I wanted to play with were in the Southwest somewhere. I moved over to a server with two people on it, and began my journey, scavenging food, water, medical supplies, and whatever else I found along the way. I found 'The Pit and The Pendulum' and 'Gulliver's Travels', carrying the books with me to ward off boredom on cold nights while I rested. I collected an AK-74, silencer, wooden stock, ammo, and a magazine from a guard house, (alongside a wealth of other gear, such as gloves, a backpack, and a high capacity vest) and found a can of green spray paint in the next shed I investigated. I painted the gun and magazine, carrying the spray paint with me. In a house, I found a magnum handgun, with a couple boxes of ammo. I found a silencer, two additional magazines, and a sight for the AK at the guard house at the "3aBoA Factory." I decided to name this weapon Luigi, in honor of my Italian heritage, and it's new color. I found a shotgun, and sawed it off, finding some ammo in a house nearby. I later found a pen and some paper, and made out a will, asking that in the case of my eventual death, "Luigi" and my survival supplies be brought to my loving wife and dog, so that they might survive this apocalypse. After long travels, I have finally reached Kamyshovo, and hope to play with my friends later on. So if you kill me, please read my will, and make sure my family survives.
  7. Having only started playing Dayz in the last three days, I've had a really hard time getting started. I've managed to find bags, food, and at least one usable gun each time I've respawned, but I keep getting KOS'd, mostly by people who look pretty well geared. This happens whether I'm on a server with 20+ people, or even one or two other players, and it's amazing how long the odds of running into someone would actually be on a really low pop server like that. I'm sure I need to improve my awareness and knowledge of the game (I find myself running in random directions, as I don't know where I am or where anything is!) but while I do so, are there any servers which tend to be a bit more welcoming to newer players? I'm not looking for a no-PVP-at-all kind of situation, but one where people are more likely to talk first, and possibly with groups looking for new members, so I can actually learn the game without being killed the moment I find something useful!
