    Banned for "NightCrawling" ?

Aye, like the "good day sir" didn't do the same for you? The only reason I'm pissed is because people jump down each others throats for the simplest of things on this forum. This thread does need to be locked, because the question was answered pages ago. People just see this as an excuse to make themselves feel proud that they're defending the noble notion that if you play a game you have to play it exactly to a set rules of conduct and cannot let real life, or simple expectations manipulate their decisions. The bottom line is, people d/c. It is an exploit but this mod is an Alpha and exploits are expected at this point. If you ban someone for an exploit you're just proving yourself that you find this mod to be a finished product and expect to take the noble duty of fixing what the developers failed to fix themselves in a timely manner that you thought they should adhere to. No one else can take that power from you because it is your birthright to sit at a computer, watch server connections and actions to see if people are disobeying the laws of gaming. If it interferes with your own enjoyment in a game then too bad, it's your sworn duty to stop these silly little exploiters since the mod will never be patched to end their cardinal sin. Also, we should look up their pins, hire hit squads and kill them in the street like the dirty dogs they are! Gaming is serious business yo! Edited: For bad sentence structure

So you damn for d/cing during actual and fear of actual pvp but when it comes to zombies, oh hell no you've gotta d/c otherwise you can't survive. Worthless. Absolutely worthless, that's like someone crying that the fish aren't biting when you're using no bait. Do you even know how to sneak through a town? I get through them all the time without aggroing a single zombie. It's not like having a gun will make sneaking any easier for you. Hell if you're smart even if you hit an object that makes you stand up you won't attract anything, and it's so easy to lose the zeds if they do catch your scent. Seriously guys, if you damn one concept of d/cing you've gotta damn them all or it's completely unfair.

    Banned for "NightCrawling" ?

The other day I was in the fire station north of Elektro, I was scavenging at the same time my steak was cooking and I had set a timer. I happened to find an m16, one of my favorite guns, and decided to loot it; somehow my crowbar got stuck in my backpack so I was fighting with it for ages trying to get it out, since it and the m16 would fit inside together but I forgot the only way to drop a crowbar was to right click it when it was in your primary slot. My timer dings, and two seconds later someone shoots through the window. I knew I had a few precious minutes before my meat starts to burn so I scan the area looking for the guy. Man this guy was a horrible shot, he shot about 20 times at me, but I still couldn't find him. At this point I could either afk, let him kill me so it would be "Fair and without Exploiting" or I could just log out, save my meal and nom delicious steak meatz which I don't get to nom very often. I chose the latter, am I an exploiter? No, because real life called. Being passed out for 5 minutes after I logged back in 4 hours later was more than enough of a punishment for exploiting. If you guys want this to be an MMO, how about we set it to your stupid MMO rules, 20 second timer when you go to disconnect, character death when you alt+f4. That will stop the Exploiting bitch crying dead in its tracks. Me, I chose between burning my steak or doing the worst sin imaginable to this forum community standards. You damn better believe I will eat the steak at it's most tender, juicy moment rather than let it burn to a crisp to satisfy your need to have an "epic realistic strategy!" You want it to be as realistic as possible, grab a knife, a can of beans and crawl around in the damn ditch for a few hours. I'll even put a few .38's in your ass for good measure so you can Feel the realism of it baby!

    [Temp. Closed] DayZ Walking Militia

I wouldn't mind joining up. I'm on mostly at night, 0100-0500 GMT-6, until I get switched to first shift at work. It's only during my days off will you see me on during the day, or if I wake up earlier. I help people, gotten some weapons before and assisted newbies with the key layouts in the past. I've recently taken the stance on killing anyone whom doesn't respond in direct chat to friendly requests, since those are the people whom always look at you. Dance or salute, then shoot you in the head. I do hunt bandits reqularly in Cherno and Electro and once awhile in Starry. My primary skills are pointman, recon and scavenger since I've noticed the spawn points more often that people tend to forget to check, and end up with decent gear from places most people would assume are bled dry.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

Haha some idiot just did this to me. Was looting the apartments for cherno since I spawned there, threw a bottle to get a whole lot of zombies away from me and towards the hospital. Soon I heard sounds of death and the soft zips of a silenced weapon. Sure enough it was another player, and since the 1.7.5 patch no one is friendly anymore again. I sneak around, loot four of the five apartments and finding no food which I desperately needed. My last apartment was the one to the left of the apartment. Having still not identified the shooter, I looked around and spotted nothing. Turned out there was a man in a gillie suit partway up the hill. He shot me several times but I still managed to make it into the apartment and patch myself up with 3k blood remaining. At this point I figured he'd move in for the kill, however when I moved to the upstairs window facing out, there he was. He was clearly scoping the entrance of the building and I had a clear shot at him with my m1911. I fired, hitting him once out of two shots in his back. He sprung a leak visible from fifty yards away! Then the bastard rolled into the bushes and I distinctly saw the "Citizen" label pop up, then disappear. After investgating his hiding place and finding no signs of him I figured he d/ced. Then when I climbed up on the roof of the hospital(was taken down to 200 blood from a zombie) I saw him pop back in, just before I accidently went prone on the ladder and fell to my death.

    Awkward moment

Since when was this a pickup thread? Generally I would think his thought process went like this: "Oh look, more people, I wonder what they want. Oh shit, they're pointing guns at me, I better fight off these three people because I'm a freaking ninja and can kill three people in close range!" At that point his soul discovered he was severely mistaken.

    REVERT

I hadn't played the .4 version yet, just got home from work. Did the zombies all get super tough after 1.7.0.1 or what? Because these are the same crying comments that I saw for that build as well. I personally perfered the 1.7.0.1 over the 1.7.0.2 that introduced melee and fixed the food spawns. Now that the .4 version has rolled out, has the zombies gotten super sensitive or are you all just so incapable of properly employing stealth? Jeez I could prone crawl within 4 meters of a zed and it not even notice me back in 1.7.0.1. The fact of the matter is: Rocket is trying this out as a mod before making it a retail game to see how people take to it. For over a decade gamers have been spoonfed, needing not to do anything but react to a situation. They didn't need to think or come at situations with a logical mindset, they had their hands held all the way. This game is hard and unforgiving, you screw up you're dead and lose all your stuff. Games should be like that because the more you succeed, the greater sense of accomplishment you feel. Not these stupid "Achievements" that people see these days. I've been claiming ever since the 2000's showed up how stupid and worthless gaming has become because you never actually felt the need to think for yourself. So all of you need to man up, society has made you soft and weak by it's hand holding. I perfer a challenge to being spoon fed for the rest of my life.
  9. Most of the "loading screens of death" scenarios is caused by you not having the correct Beta version of ARMA 2. I had that instance, checked my beta version and realized I was two versions too old. Fixed everything for me. As for zombie spawns, I've yet to have one pop right on me after the hotfix, sure they're still pretty numerous, but it adds to the challenge and I enjoy it. All it takes now to get rid of a zombie is to meander through a few houses or around a shed/fence and they're off your trail. Hell I can run doing it and be perfectly safe two minutes later.

    Anti-Bandit Hunting

Haha, I've gotta love the hate I'm still receiving. All I want is a challenge in my man hunting, and trust me there are many "bandits" who are complete idiots when it comes to their human hunting skills. Had one guy blasting away at noobs in Electro, living a carefree world of complete and udder destruction. I was hunting zombies at the northern fire station for sustenance(a requirement for this patch) and wondered why the hell was all his shots coming from the same place. At this point I wandered into town, dodged some zombies for good measure(still loving that ability now) and spotted the fool ontop of the office blasting away. It took two shots from my AKM to drop the fool. Turned out he had decent supplies in the way of tools, no food or water, and a m16A2 with five mags. I made off like a bandit that day, dropped my nearly spent AKM for a delicious m16A2. I don't claim to be the "best hunter in the game" I merely enjoy the expected challenge of those whom hunt themselves. So throw your taunts, your threats and claims of dominance my way. All I know is, most of the time you bandits camp the same place; and it only takes me 10-20 minutes to find another gun and return.

    Anti-Bandit Hunting

This is not a stab at bandits, on the contrary I quite enjoy the realistic feel of human on human violence in a situation like this, this thread is more about people's exploits as someone whom goes out of their way to kill killers. I find it a more challenging prey than just sneaking up on someone in the woods and blasting their grey matter all over the woodland floor without them knowing a single thing. No the men and women I hunt, they live a life thinking they are the predator, not the prey. I'll start with one of my favorites: Recently with the new ability to lose tailing zombies, I've taken to picking out a deft assassin, one whom has killed many fawns in the streets of Cherno or Elektro. I stalk him silently, keeping out of eyesight, but learning his movements. When the time comes, such as a supply run for ammo, looting a fresh kill, or simply changing shooting galleries I gather up a large herd of zeds. From this point I not only lead them to my prey, but I run them down head long; letting them know that their fate is now sealed by the groping hands of the infected, led by some seemingly crazy lunatic whom decided to sprint full blast through the city. I did have the tables turned on me once when a bandit kept his head cool, kept me in sight and ambushed me with his zombie horde while I was looting a nearby barn for supplies while I headed north. Fun times.

    Water bottle Duplication

Date/Time: 6/18/2012 4:12 A.M(Estimate) GMT-6 What happened: Myself and two other players had in hand a couple water bottles that were looted from pre-1.7.1.1 players. They were empty and we proceeded to fill them at what I believe was Lake Ozerko. Upon drinking from the bottles right after were filled they duplicated as two full water bottles. We managed to pull this off one more time before moving on. Where you were: Lake Ozerko(I believe) What you were doing: Filling Water Bottles Current installed version: 1.7.1.1

    Battleye 1.156

I set up battleye manually at their website, and that fixed it. now I'm having Loading screen of death problems! ^_^
  14. You guys reporting finding cans and beverages, are you getting them off of zombies or not? I can only get canned foods and drinks off of zombies atm, and without a water bottle to be found, I cannot refill my cantain as Sarlac says.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.1.1 Rolling Update

Having played for awhile I've made these observations Flashlights are bugged, after awhile they stop responding to toggling. I tried switching bindings and dropping and requiping but no help. Also food and drink seem to be pretty scarce now, or I'm just having bad luck finding any. Also the zombies that spawn inside spawn in big packs from 2-8, and are stuck in the floor. Making it easy to get around them but obviously a bug. One thing I would like to thank though is finally no one just shoots eachother when they start, ran into three different people and every one of them were friendly, though obviously asking for weapons. I'm keeping this grenade I found nice and tight to me....
