eyecon (DayZ)

Well I couldn't stay away for a week. I'm weak and just had to log in last night. More Cherno spawn after Cherno spawn. Finally got a Berezino spawn to be ko'd with one punch by an annoying mouthy kid. The fist is really overpowered and needs to be tweaked. My old guy slow reaction time didn't help. Spawned back in Cherno AGAIN so I rolled with it. Had some fun with some freshies. Met a guy with a blaze staring at a Winchester on the ground in town. All I had was a sharpened stick but I greeted him anyways. He asks what I have in my hand and after I told him a stick, he shot at me. Missed from 5 feet away. He eventually shot me so I went back for revenge but someone else got him. The Winchester was still on the floor so I picked it up and headed north. I had the improvised knife duplicate and erase a can of food too. Up north I was headed to that castle just south of Vyshnoye and ran into a herd of cattle so I took one down. I cooked the meat in the castle. After eating 3 steaks I got the "I have a funny taste in my mouth so I ate a charcoal tablet and got no more notifications and didn't get sick. I'll test without the charcoal when I cook the last 2 steaks. It took 3 steaks to get me from green energized to bright green energized. It used to be 1 or 2. My perception was that burlap sacks aren't as plentiful. I didn't see one until I got to the far north part of the map.

Well, I've played out this patch to the point of boredom. Everyone I try to talk to either runs away in FEAR or shoots me. I've done the crafting, hunting, exploring, PVP, PVE, interaction attempts and all that. Perhaps a break for a week or two is in order. The effed up logic some players have is beyond me. My approach to the game is I don't play in fear. I'm cautious but could give a f if I die or lose my gear. I was running south tonight to find a bambi on the coast to give all my gear to. I get shot and break my legs. I hear "Drop your gun, Drop your gun" with my typical response of f you, just kill me. He says you have a whole squad on you so just drop your gun we won't shoot you. I yell "You just did you asshat, just finish me off already. I don't care." His buddy then comes around calling me an ahole, just to drop my gun then kills me. The first guy was then yelling at me after death calling me all kinds of names. LMAO. Was he really pissed that I wouldn't comply to his power trip? Is the logic "Hey, there's a player. Let's not let him go on his business, let's shoot him and make him interact with us."? If you're one of the below, just shoot me and shut your mouth, lol. The small brain: "Hey, there's something moving, let's kill it!" If someone is just looking for PVP, there are much better games out there for that. Or "I saw this on youtube/twitch. It's funny but I'm not original enough to think of my own ideas." The small weiner/fear: "Hey there's a player. Let's kill them so they don't kill us later. I don't want to lose all this cool military gear I got."

It used to be that way but with .57 being on stable for so long and being so buggy, it seems a lot more players are coming over to experimental. With a lot more players, you get a proportionate amount of small minds who have no interest in experimenting or testing. On the positive side, they don't seem to mind putting in "work" to get their firearms.

Yeah, I've been wanting to try Shadowplay. I think NVIA's site said mine (GT650M 1gb) was compatible and allowed me to download it but I didn't yet. My problem is I play on a Macbook Pro and my Windows partition only has about 30gb free space (100gb partition on the SSD). I'm not sure if Shadowplay works well with external drives and how much it'd lag my system in game. I could upgrade the crap out of my Mac Pro tower but will someday just build a stellar Win PC. It really is effective at distracting, suppression, and confusion in other players. I saw a stream a while back where they wrangled up a hoard and led them into a crew with automatic weapons in the hospital causing havoc and confusion. They panicked not knowing what to do. There are a couple exp servers with the version number ending in 61 that have infected. There were a few in Cherno of which I wrangled and recruited 5 of the 7 I saw.

Well ANOTHER Cherno spawn but it worked out for a fun little experiment. I joined one of the xxxx61 servers and wrangled up a couple twins and their friends. Had them following me around but noticed they stopped in the intersection next to police station. The only way they'd agro on me was if I went within about 10 feet. So we had a family meeting... So we headed out to Elektro together on a little family vacation, meanwhile picking up a soldier on the way. I noticed that a couple of them couldn't stay up on the bridge but clipped through... I had to stay pretty close or they'd lose interest in me. They really do move slowly. Jogging was outrunning them. Eventually I had them trained pretty well and had them choreograph dancing to Thriller by Michael Jackson. For some reason they really like that song... We eventually made it to Elektro and did some behavior studies in the town square. I could once again get them to stand still in the road while close to them but if I moved a couple steps to the right or tried running into the police station, they'd follow. Another odd thing was when i hid outside of the wall around the red house next to police station, they'd go inside the the wall and try to hit me through it. Also, you can't lock them in buildings yet. I tried at the fire station. Then things went haywire as a player came along wondering what the heck I was doing. He decided to attack me with his hoe so I led him into my pack of kids, yelling "GET HIM KIDS" to which I eventually knocked him out with a sharpened stick. Then his 4 buddies came to avenge him and I knocked all of them out except one who ran away and I let the "kids" finish them off while they were on the ground. It was the most fun I've had in DayZ in a long time. DON"T MESS WITH ME AND MY "KIDS"! lol. P.S. I really have to get some video recording set up. It was quite the interaction with those 5 guys at the end.

My good looking character is no more. I stopped in Staroye at the water pump for some water. I was going to eat some bacon but found my improvised knife ruined. I guess that's a tell-tale sign the character was old since I've had it since day one. I was dumb and decided to search for a new stone right there at the pump. As I'm crafting an improvised, a raggity looking player appears. I say hello, he pulls out his pick axe. I couldn't cancel my action of making the improvised knife so I said nothing more and let it happen. I was healthy and wearing a motorcycle helmet but 1 shot to the head and I was a freshie in Cherno. He got himself a well rounded kit. I'm tired of Cherno spawns. That's all I get anymore it seems. I did find a rak and police camo outfit so I went around looking for dbags causing trouble. Found a couple nice freshies so I gave one of them my stuff and ordered him to kill me. We'll see what spawn I get tonight.

I saw 2 on the roof of the apartments near Severograd. I play on wifi so I'd be screwed. :D

Now if they added chains that you could hook up to the back of the V3S, it would open up a whole new world of possibilities. From dragging heavy object or even players (sick - I know) to towing breken down vehicles.

I always forget about the possibility of water bottles having gas due to someone trolling. One of these days I'll pay for it.

I found an odd bug (non-insect) the other night at a pond that I haven't seen in my over 1000 hrs. It was in the woods somewhere south of Severograd (I think). I was going to go back during the day and get a better shot but never did. I crawled into it and was under water, then crawled back out of the edge. Perhaps it's nothing new. I accidentally joined a UK server but figured I'd go with it. I was surprised at how well it performed. I once again zigzagged the map looking for critters. I was at a pond getting water and heard a deer "howl" (for a lack of a better word) like they do IRL but wasn't sure if it was actually a deer or a player nearby trolling me. I went to the edge of the woods and there was a herd about 50 meters standing in the field but the sound seamed like it was much closer. I was still behind a pine tree watching when all of a sudden they started going crazy, bouncing and running all over the place and then ran right by me. I thought maybe another player agroed them but couldn't spot anyone. They disappeared into the distance. I really like their behavior aside from the bouncing all over the place but I'm not sure how I disturbed them standing still out of site 50 m away. Perhaps they have a good sense of scent in game? My character looks pretty sharp and clean but after 3 days of running around...ya know... I think this is the best dressed character I've had in a long time w/o a bullet ruining my clothes. I did get shot at quite a few times but they were either really bad shot or desync. I did take one down with a crossbow. It really is a viable weapon. If the gun being automatically put away bug is fixed, I agree that this is ready for stable. However, I'm not sure if that's a game breaker or not. P.S. I'm trying to figure out how to do the spoiler thing so I don't slow yall's browsers down. Never mind - figured it out. Duh

I've been leaving little presents in coat pockets and backpacks through my travels just to put a smile on people's face. When I go back through my route, I'll check and see if they're still there. It did almost get me killed tonight though. :) When I was a kid we'd go to a neighbor's camp and there was a deer head mounted on the wall. The adults told us kids the deer was running and rammed into the house. The rest of it kept running into the woods. For the longest time I was out on the other side of that wall scratching my head trying to figure that one out. I was little and not too bright.

So tonight I went to straight to freezing in a matter of no time. I build a fire, got to cold and the fire ran out so I kept running which got me back to "comfortable." I was surprised at how quickly it went to freezing - perhaps a status bug? Also, I ran out of a house and chipped my leg on the stoop/doorway. I looked for a bear trap but nothing. It was 1 step to the door so I chalked it off as desync. Other than that, I ran all over the map (except the coast) on a full server and didn't see a soul. Where is everyone hiding at?

Ohh, you're a real bad ass. I'm scared. NOT. See my post above. :D If you're just going to give someone something they need/want, why not just talk to them? Because you're afraid of getting shot, losing your gear, getting embarrassed, etc. I don't let fear dictate my gameplay or interactions. I'll just stand there with my middle finger up while you shoot me like a coward. :D P.S. I'm just busting your chops. It's all good. :thumbsup:

And if you tell me to put up my hands or get on the ground, I give you the middle finger because I don't care if I die and I'm sick of hearing that crap. Either talk to me like a normal human or shoot me already. :D

Well, the key word in the description is "fermented" so just let me roll with it. It's the best we have in the game until we can start building our own stills. :D Also, I just like to imagine it's some of this. I think it's like 9% alcohol. A pub not too far away from me serves it. One of the best tasting stouts I've had. I think they put Puhdado's brother on the label. :D
