I truly hope this isn't true. I've been playing on that server for awhile now. Haven't had any problems with the Admins on it and in fact they are pretty nice and fair. Hope this gets cleared up.

Servers generally begin to produce lag if they haven't been reset for a long period of time. Reasons for this are player involvement in the world, when people die, that creates objects (bodies, loot ect) that the server must keep track of. Also killing zombies and dropping loot puts extra work on an already taxed server. (Arma II is a monster to computers alone) -
Yes you can, however, with that being stated, the textures for Arma II free are terrible and the game does not look to pleasing. Besides, to do so requires some file work. Simple however if your worked with mods before. I did it because I already had OA, and after a few hours bought the full game due to the graphics. So I'd just go with the combined operations package. Oh, and before you go spend money on a game for a MOD. Make sure you are really into it.
