Thanks :) When I hit M (set it as my map key) it shows a black screen with a small menu which has DayZ and Map options in it. When I hit Enter on Map it just shows for a moment the DayZ loading screen then returns to the game. I did that when I had a map on me, too, and it was the same..

I can run games like GTA V and Battlefield 4 on high settings. I doubt my system is at fault here. For the record, I've set my DayZ settings to low just to make sure and it still does that.

Not sure how to define it I'm afraid. Just gets stuck for brief seconds.

I keep getting these occasional random lag spikes every few minutes. My settings are low. How can I fix it?

I look through your posts on my thread and they're mostly cynical and unhelpful, even disrespectful towards a newb like me. While I do appreciate you taking the time to comment, perhaps you're too pro to help me and you should leave it to other people here who have greatly helped me so far.

I can't find a list with preferable guns. The descriptions of the guns themselves aren't too clear, either. What's better, the 1911 or Magnum? And as for rifles - Repeater, Trumpet or Mosin 9130?

That's a general, random, unessential statement. I have done my thorough internet search for every question I had before posting, and not for a second was I considering using cheats (didn't even know those existed). Thank you for your constructive comment, though.

I see very blurry even though my character is fed and nothing is broken (doesn't say anything is anyway). What could it be?

I often can't take items on the ground even though I have space for them. Am I doing something wrong? Also questions above your post Oh and I've set the Map key as M but when I hit M I only see black and no map

Thank you all for your help so far. How do I use a flashlight? I can't get to turn it on. Also my character seems to be holding it upside down. When I click right mouse button to aim a rifle (like in about every other game), it just zooms. It appears Numpad 0 is for aiming. Do most people change that?

Thanks. I still can't find the quick bar. Also, I often hear gunshots around me but even when I (stupidly) look all around, I still can't find the shooter, as if it's not really a player. Is that possible? And how do I treat a broken leg?
