    Yeah, with you on this. Been mostly radio silent and it’s already March. Any information would be good. Just some insight. Where’s the 2021 “roadmap”? I’m all for under promise, over deliver, but we aren’t even at the “under” stage right now.

    It's already easy enough to bust into bases with how abundant grenades are, even just by looting. 6 grenades and the stupid cooking pot trick makes walls pretty useless. Makes it pretty pointless to build anything since it won't last more than a day or two at best. Add in cheaters and it's just tons of half busted open bases littering the servers all over again. And with how inconsistent cars perform, those are also sort of pointless to take the time to get one working. So the only real thing to do is...PVP, I guess. Pretty frustrating.

    oh yeah just couldn't remember my password for the app login edit: yeah loot economy on Livonia is already screwed again. Bases 3 walls deep are getting busted open in seconds. Probably an army of duppers with endless grenades. Exhausting that this is still happening with absolute no end in sight. This is how you kill the player base. Let the cheaters run rampant.

    Duping is alive and well on consoles. Just found this. Sorry for the crappy quality, easier to just take a phone pic. I really doubt that this is genuine. Xbox Official Server NY 8534. Only two weeks or so after the wipe. Probably won't take long for the loot economy to be completely borked all over again. 😫 Getting this locked down HAS to be a priority. @lynn.zaw @ImpulZ

    Groups like this won't ever happen on Vanilla Servers. Modded servers on PC have options for this, but in general, it's mostly against the spirit of the game. There used to be craftable spears and bows and they may or may not come back, and you can make a stone knife, but in general, it's usually pretty easy to find a melee weapon. You can attack with pretty much everything, even a can of bans.

    Oh I'm not defending it. I understand there are internal and valid reasons why cars are a problem, and I think a lot of DayZ's problem essentially boil to down BI not wanting to invest properly into the Dev Team and the work they need to get things done. None of this makes some of the game's problems any less frustrating, but I do think it's still in a better state than it has ever been, despite what the 0.62 purists will tell you. I also tend to speak from the place of there being a clear difference between The Dev Team, and the people signing their checks. Doesn't excuse a lot of DayZ's problems, but I can forgive a lot of them. My point was mainly that comparing GTA's Development to DayZ's is just...really, really, really, foolish and silly. It's not even the same level.

    Yeah, and according to a former project lead, the rug was pretty much pulled out from under them regarding the Enfusion work. DayZ didn't even get the full Enfusion. A lot of decisions made outside of the Dev Team's control. Agree with all of this though; I miss the SRs and drip feed of communication. I'd love more tangible insight into what problems they are seeing and what work is being done to address it. I understand wanting to "under promise, over deliver" but insight is nice.

    Lol. GTA V had something like...literally 1,000 people working on it, with a budget of over $137 million. DayZ, in its prime, had...what, at most, 80? And a budget that didn't even come close to that. And GTA V, the cars don't "just...work"; it's the result of A LOT OF TIME AND MANPOWER AND MONEY. It's not magic, the way a lot of y'all seem to think it is. This is EASILY the most absurd comparison I have ever seen on here or the subreddit, and that's saying something. Good god.

    I feel like toning down the damage grenades do/removing or limiting the Super Bomb from the cooking pot would go a long way. Or even just adding new building materials that don't bust so easily. Or just limiting the amount of grenades in each server. They are way too easy to come across. We watched a group of players bust into our 5 wall base in less than 5 minutes using the cooking bomb. It was pretty disheartening. edit: Same with buckshot damage on walls. A vaiga with a drum mag turns any wall into paper. It's really pointless to try to fortify anything right now in Vanilla.

    That church specifically has been loaded with clearly duped items the past few days. The other day I found 7 gold deagles on the floor along with a bunch of other things. I just have no clue what or how it's being done.

    I have no idea how people in this game dupe, but this looks like I caught someone in the act. Specifically, the fresh spawn pulling an AK out of thin air. This is on an Official Server on Xbox. I know there's a wipe coming, but if the update doesn't ALSO address however people are doing these duplication glitches, the loot economy is going to be screwed all over again. I think a lot of us would just really like some kind on confirmation that The Dev Team has full intention of addressing this. I don't doubt they are aware of it, but this HAS to be a priority . @Kyiara

    @ImpulZ I do not doubt at all that The Dev Team is aware of the duping problem on consoles, but I was wondering if we could get any insight into if any fixes are on the docket for 2021? This is just one example of how bad it has gotten on consoles, and this is isn't even the worst example I have ever seen. This is on an official server on Xbox. This was also inside of a massive mega base that was clearly constructed via duping means. It just really kills the integrity of the game when this stuff is so rampant. People even make accounts with names like "DupeLord420"; it's incredibly frustrating how common it is. Not to mention what it does to server and FPS performance. Anyway, I hope The Dev Team is enjoying its time off, and taking a well deserved break. Excited for 2021 and what the new staff will bring to the table.

    Given how many times people have repurchased Skyrim, I don’t think graphical quality on older games is too much of an issue for a lot of gamers. DayZ definitely uses a lot of older assets that they’ve been trying to phase out of the game, but I think performance tweaks are much more of a priority than a fresh coat of paint.

    And I'd say they are pretty confident that they can get the issues solved if they are openly acknowledging it like this. Dev Team has been very skittish about promises and agendas. Adding new team members is also a great sign. I don't understand how anyone could be negative about any of this!

    Seems like base building on vanilla still needs some love, especially since there's a new duping exploit. On console it's particularly bad, but right now, even though it's an improvement, I think most people would agree that bases on vanilla are still pretty much not worth building. The biggest problem seems to be that grenades and buckshot are still way too easy to come by, and it's not that hard to boost over most lower walls. I don't think bases should be invincible, but there needs to be some balance for protection when you're offline. I really loved @Asmondian's base building suggestions, especially the idea of electrifying barbwire, but even beyond that, just upping the strength a bit and lowering the wall damage grenades and buckshot cause would be helpful. @ImpulZ
