Instead of the ammo spawning, just let us turn DMR mags into FAL mags. Same caliber, same magazine capacity.

Patch Notes you never want to see
Blippy replied to RpTheHotrod's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
These are changes that you'd never want to see because only an idiot would even think of implementing that stuff. Here's one that's pretty much universally agreed on: [FIXED]Infected cannot run in buildings. (They can run inside them now) -
If you were under 3k blood, a silenced assault rifle could probably kill you in one shot.

Since I've started playing DayZ a few weeks ago, I had noticed how poorly the game runs on my computer. I used to get as low as 5FPS, but thanks to recent optimizations, I rarely go below 10FPS. The game runs like crap, and I know I need to upgrade, I just don't know why it runs bad. Specs: Windows 7 32-bit (Non-Aero theme) AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ dual-core processor @2.3ghz 2GB DDR2800 RAM Nvidia GeForce GT 440 2GB DDR3 RAM - Core clock 810mhz (OCed to 900mhz) Mem clock 667mhz (OCed to 800mhz) In-game settings: All low, except HDR which is very high. Mem usage is default. 3D resolution: 800x600; Interface resolution: 1024x768 I have a feeling it's CPU/RAM bottleneck, since in a blank Chernaurus map in the editor, I can get upwards of 50FPS on current settings, but in a typical empty DayZ server, I rarely go above 30FPS. Any idea what's causing the slowdown? Is it the loot, the zeds, or something else?

Log in with a friend at the International Airfield. Friend spots a heli crash directly in front of one of the hangars, and finds an FN FAL ANPV with ammo. We head over to Stary to do some sniping, and shoot two people. One hides in a tent and bleeds to death while the other dies trying to evade us by climbing up the ladder in the big red warehouse directly south of the tents (lol). We take their food and medical supplies. I provide overwatch while my friend loots the bodies and tents. We hear a gunshot, and see a ghillie suit in the treeline. We kill the guy, and I take his NVGs, GPS, M9 suppressed, rangefinder, and L85A2 RIS CWS, with plenty of ammo for both weapons. Now practically bursting with awesome loot, we get the hell out and run away. With this much luck in one day, we're practically guaranteed to die tomorrow.

I was completely right. With all our luck used up, Murphy's Law took notice of us, and gave us one big bitch slap. First, I log in and notice that my L85A2 had vanished from my backpack and was replaced by two extra DMR mags. We head to Cherno and sit in the forest, and decide to switch servers because the one we were on was de-synching pretty bad. We log in, and we start getting shot at from a guy with a silenced weapon that was apparently in the forest we were in. Friend goes down; we lose the FAL, the rangefinder, and lots of food and drink. We meet up again and join yet another server. This time it's night. I provide overwatch while my buddy loots the Cherno apartments. Aside from hordes of zombies and a broken bone, it went fairly smoothly. We then go to the Elektro power plant, and I climb up the column in order to get a good view of the city while my friend heads to the supermarket. I then fall through it and hit the ground, but amazingly I only lose 2000 blood, and it seems that I'd get up before I bleed to death. But a zombie that had magically spawned nearby ran straight to me and beat me to death. Friend runs to me and attempts to loot my body. He takes my DMR, NVG's, my backpack, and my tools. He's then forced to fire my DMR to protect himself, and then 15 or so zombies suddenly swarm him. He's forced to run away. I lose my camo suit, my M9 suppressed, food, water, and other misc gear. Lesson learned. If you get lucky in this game, you are suddenly marked for misfortune and death.

The center reticule zeroes at 300m, and every mildot afterwards is an additional 100m.

Not sure if I can play a bandit!
Blippy replied to spacecraft's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I dont' let it get to me because I always remind myself that if the victim were in my shoes, he would've done the same with no regrets. -
Crashed helicopters a little too common?
Blippy replied to sunnz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've found one heli since I started playing a few weeks back. Had a camo suit and an FN FAL, with like six zombies wandering around it. It was around NW of Stary. -
Any performance increasing changes coming?
Blippy replied to them0t's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Judging from your specs, it looks like CPU/RAM bottleneck. I have similar specs to you, and I get 10-15 FPS once servers start to fill up, because the CPU can barely keep up with all the data flowing. -
Or is the first time a player is hit by a zombie a guaranteed bleed? Either me and everyone I know is extremely unlucky, or there's something that giving people insanely high chances to bleed the first time they are struck by a zombie.

Make bandits skins a lootable costume like camo and ghillies
Blippy posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I started playing this game shortly after bandit skins were removed from the game. I think they look amazing and would like to see them again, but instead of automatically getting it from killing too many people, it should be a lootable item like the camo clothing and the ghillie suit. It doesn't necessarily have to be called "Bandit Clothing", but I think it's a very nice skin and I feel that it should come back into the mod. -
New Stealth System would be totally fine IF
Blippy replied to Perrywinkle's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Can't you just step over the barriers? That's what I do whenever I encounter sandbags or razor wire. -
As long as you have the latest beta patch, you should be fine.

My only problem with the zombies is that they seem to be coded to wander towards nearby players, even if they're not detected. So I'll be crawling along the side of a road, and then in only a couple minutes, I'm stuck because all of the zombies walked to me from across the street and idled in every direction around me. I ended up going backwards from where I started because zombies would just gather around me whenever I try to enter a city.

I've been finding Makarovs and M1911's out the wazoo. All the deer stands at the Balota tents had a Glock, AK, or PDW. The hangars also had lots of ammo. I'm finding just about everything except food. One zombie dropped beans and I killed a cow, but I'm still lacking drink. I really don't want to have to drink the Mountain Dew I looted off of a fail bandit. I always thought that food and drink was too common and should be toned down, but this is ridiculous.

This is someone else failing, but I found it funny. I was in Elektro with a friend, gearing up after dying. My friend calls out a sniper on the school and shoots at him, probably wounding him. I hear shots landing around my feet, so I run into the school to take cover, not knowing that the bandit was on the roof above me. I'm sitting in a corner, waiting for the guy to move or come to me. Suddenly I hear a crunch, pain sounds, and then flies. Turns out the bandit fell off of the roof and died. I ran out to loot his body. He had a Lee Enfield with three mags, all the useful tools, a ghillie suit (that I couldn't take, since he was wearing it), a bunch of medical supplies, an ALICE pack, and a Mountain Dew. He was the most fail bandit I've ever seen. Couldn't hit a target with a one-shot rifle from 15 meters away, and then falls off of a building.

It's not motion, it's visibility, motion just contributes to how easy you are to see. Standing in the middle of an open road naturally makes you more visible than standing around tall grass.

The other night I was in Balota with a friend on a UK5 so we could be in the day. We had looted the airfield and were now in the town. We had aggroed some zombies and made our way to the warehouse by the coast to dispatch them. The moment I enter the warehouse, my game freezes for a moment, and everything seems to be re-rendering. Turns out I was instantly teleported back to the Balota airstrip. No other players around, and only a handful of zombies. It wasn't server lag, since my friend was still in the warehouse at the coast, and saw me just vanish. He ran back to meet up with me and everything was fine afterwards. Any idea what happened?
