  1. Date/Time: Sunday, June 17, aprox 11:00-11:30 PM What happened: I shot a player through the window at a supermarket with a Lee Enfield. When he died, his skin changed from a black person to a white person, but instead of falling over and becoming a corpse, he remained standing at the gun holding position. Ge was still a solid object, and was able to block players and zombies alike. No animation, completely frozen. Aside from that, he behaved exactly like a normal corpse, with flies buzzing and being lootable. Where you were: Corpse was inside the Elektro supermarket. I was on the roof of a school overlooking the market. What you were doing: Being a bandit and killing fools. Current installed version: 1.7.1.1 Server(s) you were on: DayZ DE33-UK15(?) Timeline of events before/after error: Looted a player corpse and ran into the school in Elektro. Saw a person run out of the building I was in. Climbed up the stairs and onto the roof. Looked around until I saw the guy run into the supermarket. He killed a few zombies before I aimed and shot him through the glass window. After he died, I ran into the supermarket, killed 50 zombies with the Loudfield, took the guy's backpack, and ran out of the city. Also, shortly afterwards, I started getting repeatedly kicked from the server with the message: "You were kicked from the server." Perhaps I killed an admin?
  2. I see lots of death messages, especially on populated servers. However, I don't feel that one message for every kind of death is appropriate. I feel that different deaths should have different corresponding messages. Death by another player: Name was killed. (Basically keep it the same.) Death by zombies: Name was eaten. Death by suicide (Respawn, own explosion, fall damage, etc.): Name killed him/herself.
  3. That's not possible. I said that this was in the editor; there were no objects, no AI, nothing. Just an empty map, and me.
  4. I was going to make my own thread, but this one was similar enough so I will semi-hijack it. I was trying to find a balance in performance and graphics, so I put myself in the editor, looking east towards Cherno. I noticed that looking into the city tanked my FPS hardcore. Running some monitors, I noticed that my GPU usage will drop down to 18-45% when looking towards Cherno, depending on graphics settings, while in open fields, I'll remain at a steady 80% usage with acceptable framerates on any setting. http://i.imgur.com/dDt7k.jpg Here, I'm running at 1280x1024, everything on very high except shadows, post-processing, and AA, which is off. I'm getting ~11FPS, with only 45% GPU usage. http://i.imgur.com/CwLZy.png The same picture, but with everything on very low at 800x600. Despite the massive change in graphics, I only get a marginal boost in FPS, since the GPU usage drops down to only 18%. http://i.imgur.com/qTfWc.jpg Yet my card thinks that looking down is the best time to shoot GPU usage to as high as possible. Anyone know why this is, or if there's anything I can do about it? Specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ @2.3ghz 2GB DDR2800 RAM Nvidia GeForce GT 440 2GBDDR3
  5. I have: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ @2.3ghz 2GB DDR2800 RAM Nvidia GeForce GT 440 2GB DDR3 Apparently I don't meet the minimum requirements for this game. The card runs the game easy on low, like 45-60FPS, but I get 30 in towns, and 20 in Cherno and Elektro. That's in the editor, with no AI to process. In an actual server on DayZ, I get no more than 30FPS in the middle of nowhere, and as low as 6-9FPS in Cherno. It's obviously my CPU bottlenecking hardcore. I need to upgrade.
  6. The day of the 1.7.1 patch, I was looting the Komorovo factory. Then I turned around and saw a player running over to me. Out of sheer instinct and impulse, I filled him with bullets. Five seconds later in side chat, I heard "Wtf I didn't even have a gun." I then remembered that new players don't spawn with guns anymore, and I had killed an unarmed person.

    M4A3 CCO Question.

I don't understand people saying that you should just used unsuppressed mags on a suppressed weapon. I have never been able to do that. Only the AKM and L85A2 are coded to be zeroed. If there are any others, they aren't implemented in DayZ

    PDW:SD

This is completely wrong. Weapons that are normally usable in Arma 2 will still have an icon, even if they're not in spawn lists on DayZ.
  9. Blippy

    Makarov SD?

They're in Arma 2, but not in DayZ. If you mind a Makarov SD, it was hacked in.

    Illegal Copies May Degrade

Wrong. FADE deliberately screws up parts of the game (Messing up your aim, swapping controls, etc) until the game becomes pretty much unplayable. Think of like what happened with Arkham Asylum. They made it so that if you tried to use the cape to glide, it wouldn't work. It would just be a flimsy cape and you'd fall to your death.

    DayZ on New Maps (When?)

To add to that, Rocket said that it isn't hard to implement DayZ on other maps. During Rezzed, he actually had DayZ on Utes island during the interview.
  12. That's called luck. You have none of it.

    The FADE warning

I see it all the time, ever since I started playing. I knew about FADE, but I didn't pay any attention, since I know my copy is legit, since it's on Steam. I always just thought that it was a reminder. "Illegal copies may degrade", I mean.

    Hackers galore.

Died to a hacker today. Was looting the NW barracks when I heard zombies aggro. I ducked into a corner of the back room and noticed that there were no footsteps from zombies or players. Suddenly I get shoved forward a bit, which made me realized that someone appeared behind me. Before I could turn around and shoot, he killed me with an M4A3 CCO SD. Shit sucks.
  15. Loot cycling is not the same as server hopping.

    M40A3

Your character is noted by the server of possessing illegit equipment, but there's no repercussions from it as long as it's few and far between. If the hive notices that you are constantly found possessing hacked gear over a short period of time, you could be flagged for hacking.

    How does Banning work?

Hackers that are banned were handled by BattleEye. They ban the CD-Key that was used for that game, keeping them from joining any BattleEye-enabled servers.

    Holsters Can HELP!!!

You can already lower your weapon so you're not pointing it at the person.
  19. If you know it's hacked, then don't use it.
  20. Graphics should be about looks, and looks only. When graphics settings can provide a tactical advantage over one another (terrain detail, view distance), then a balance needs to be set so that everyone is on even footing, regardless of computer specs.

Walking dead FPS. Dayz rip off?

Just because it's a zombie survival shooter, does not mean it's copying DayZ.
