I logged into a server having forgotten i was in the captains hut in nw airfield. I stepped outside to a guy with a cr75. he started shooting and i started to shoot at him with my newly obtained ak101. I died and i hope he did too.. Just my luck. Another time in basically the same situation a guy with an aug panic shot me (dude was doing half circles) and i shot at him with my aug funny enough. I'm failry certain we both died. Fortunately those were a while back. The only recent combat news i have was being in cherno as per usual and kept hearing shots but could never actually see anyone. I tok a single shot to the chest by what i'm sure was an ak of some sort and I ran off. A freshie was trying to hit me and due to dsync hit me once. I try to gun him down but I have trouble as i can't see well from the damage so i duck inside a hospital. the frshie had followed me (took the ladder but i heard him the entire time) and gunned him down. I go in third person and i notice my ballistic helmet and a few other clothing items went from damaged or worn to pristine. My jacket however was badly damaged. After consideration I thought the server or the unkown shooters were (was) sketchty and called it a night.

I had a fun time a couple nights ago. i popped onto a full server and started investigating cherno to do some policing. while up in the firestation i hear a player swearing and trying to kill 2 other players with a pickaxe. I aim my mosin to him and wait for a good shot. the first shot lands solidly but didn't kill him. he starts bleeding from the chest and tries running to the statue nearby. a shot to his leg stops that plan. all the while the player he was trying to kill was saying things like "oh you've been shot?" and "oh your legs broken?" one final round and the would be killer dies. the other player thanks me as i go down to tell him to take it easy and probably leave town. Shortly thereafter there's 9 or 10 freshies, most of which try to knock me out. i gun down 1, then 2, then 3, and finally a fourth with my mp5k before I run off as it wasn't worth the hassle. I see the player and i helped and his friend behind him. I accidentally shot his friend (thought he was being chased) and i once again kill the guy that tried to kill him. apparently one of the freshies starts fending off the others with a cr75 he found. This time i simply start to leave town. upon running through the industrial section a guy axes me in the arm but i keep running. Another player appears (a freshie from before) and shoots me in the leg with a mosin. i fire and roll and they hid and try to team up. one runs up from my side with an axe saying he just wants to splint me (which in dayz is almost the same as calling someone stupid) the other guy as predicted is running from the other side with an axe as well. I gun one down and start shooting the other but run out of ammo before he drops. I had used almost all of my ammo and the shots and the axe likely ruined most of my gear. I say i won that battle.

I commonly have dreams about dayZ.. And i'm planning on buying an actual mosin soon. Hopefully I can stop myself from looting my town...

Had a fun past couple days. After getting very well geared i wander into cherno and start policing the area. making sure there's no banditry and helping the fresh spawns. Ended up hunting a guy who was gunning down fresh spawns. He got away unfortunately but i seemed to have run him out of town. The player who told me about him found his friends and set off to find him. I hear a shotgun shot so i run to the police station to investigate. no one there. but i do here a player voice saying he saw me kill the fresh spawn that was lying on the ground outside. After some explaining and hearing more shots, the guy comes inside. turns out he only had a cleaver so pretty ballsy of him to go to an armed player. after hearing nothing we split ways. I come back later and the shotgun killer is locked inside and takes some poorly aimed shots at me. after trting to bait him to the windows or the doors for a clear shot i managed to get the perfect angle and put 2 akm rounds through his head. justice is served. I am later killed on a different server by a group of 4 people who didn't say anything. I'd love to have some form of conversation with my killer(s) but that has yet to happen. no hands up ever. however when they put me on the ground a came out of unconsciousness and killed one of them so i got a little bit of revenge.

I've been in this situation before. I was looting a building when a guy and his buddy came down the stairs. i gunned one down out of panic as they were both geared. the other guy ran into the cell and told him i had just panicked and had no desire to kill him. I let him go. Another few times i've spared players and was later shot in the back of the head the next day. Chances are, people are going to kill you. especially since there's nothing else to kill apart from the occasional animal. In truth, morality in this game is only there if you see it to be. That guy would likely have gunned you down if he had the chance so don't sweat it but next time, consider sparing a life or a traditional robbery. (holding the other player at gun point).

nice save in the beginning. As for the capture, good tips. wish when someone holds a gun to me they wouldn't pull the trigger immediately. oh well i suppose. good vid.

.58 has been interesting and surprisingly lucky for me. just a few days ago i managed to get my hands on an svd. wasn't in a normal loot spot. from the ruined plate carrier i saw not too far away, someone wasn't as luck as i was. i found a number of weapons stashed on and in a v3s but unfortunately was out of gas. the next day i found a ump with plenty of ammo. Today however, I had a short player encounter. i would've made contact but i was in a (too long) phone call. i went back to the tree line and waited to see if he would look for me. turns out he disconnected his internet. I went and looted where he was, warming up by his abandoned fire and picking up free deer steaks and mags for the aug he had left. I had no real interest in the aug and went about my day. Not long ago i found an akm and have had ammo and attachments for quite some time. I'm sure i'll die soon since i have all this nice stuff but I've had damn good fun so far.

as for 1. akm mags are fairly common and are found in the new enter-able barracks. 2. it is a bit bugged. If you have spray paint and don't need the parts that come with it spray paint will delete those parts and you can slap on whatever. The best remedy is something about putting the akm in your hands and then applying the part but i may very well be wrong on that.

This is the time of year where all the zombies just need to get away from it all. They've been working hard lumbering about and trying to eat people. I here George is having a party at his zombie beach house. Hopefully we'll see the zombies back in soon.

Same here man. I was on my fully geared character and was on a server of a little over 20 people. saved a guy from another player with a fireaxe and then a group of zombies. Unfortunately i hit the glitch that dropped my ak on the ground. the dude shot me. I lived and got patched up but he had logged to save his ass. I start regearing on a 1-2 pop server. i didn't lose much but then surprise i found another akm and a lot of other great gear. the akm was buried under a bunch of stuff so i work it away and just as i was going to pick it up i get killed. Fast forward sometime later, i'm frustrated while trying to get back. I have a 1911 and find a player in a room in the police station of the town in which i died. i shoot him 5 times in the chest point blank but he didn't die. one more death. i start to make my way back another time but there's no loot and i starve to death. Oh well i suppose. .58 is on it's way so it didn't matter much anyhow.

Very well done. Nicely executed firefights. By the look at them they would have shot you for fun. Great work.

I did a similar thing today. My bandit victim never heard me sneak up on him. Gave him a fair warning before putting one in his head. nice work.

I was (kind of) a hero today. I managed to sneak up on a bandit that had just killed another player and was looting his corpse. After telling him to put his hands up and with no compliance, i shot him. The other guy was avenged at least.

I had a pretty short run on dayz today but it was certainly entertaining. After having geared up a few days before I get on today and see what I can do. I make my way to balota airfield and upon nearing the town i hear a few rifle shots. I quickly take the long way and make my way into a barn. Something weird had happened with my pc that made DayZ close out but i was back on and began exploring the airfield. I sneaked around and saw the two players that were shooting. One was dead of course and the other hadn't heard me sneak up to him. I raised my akm to him and told him to put his hands up. Judging from the look of the guy and the corpse he was looting he was a bandit that had been waiting and killed him. After him acknowledging my presence but not doing anything I put a round in his head and left. All in all a good run for the night.

In the last week or so of me playing I have't seen another person that didn't shoot at me on sight. Mostly just KOSers.

I performed an experiment on high pop servers to see how many players would attack me unprovoked. out of 6 encounters, 7 people, all of them tried to kill me. In one of the encounters i was unarmed and standing still apart from turning so i could watch two guys approach me. "hey, yea, i know what you're going to do." and they shot me. no words spoken or anything. In conclusion don't bother with other players. Still had some fun combat.

Did an experiment on high pop servers today to see how often i was attacked/killed in player encounters. out of 6 encounters, i was attacked/killed each and every time. one of them being me standing completely still with no gun in hand. said "hey, yea i know what you're going to do." and i was correct. they shot me. no words or anything. This being said, Avoid all players like the plague. they're going to shoot you. Perhaps when weapons and ammo are more scarce bandit activity will die down a bit. Still good fun to be in combat.

I found my AKM at NW airfield and all of its attachments in the guardhouse in zelenegorsk. As for the svd and hunting scope, what the others have been saying.

Well today, just a few moments ago, i killed my first player in DayZ. I was looting around the military installation in zelenegorsk and walk out of the upstairs room and see him. i get to a point where i could shoot him in the small space while also waiting a couple seconds to see how he reacts. After seeing him raise his gun i shot him. He may have been friendly but i wasn't expecting company so i didn't have my headphones on. I had learned my lesson in the past so odds are he wasn't. Quite the rush.
