You mean my friend the camera man? No thats normal, playing with him makes for a very intense co-op experience.

My friend recorded this video of us first disarming and then interrogating a survivor using an innocent trivia game. Chaos ensues when another friend kills the server admin and the server admin apparently initiates a mass killing. I feel bad for Killroy as he was such a great sport. EDIT: I know server admins do not have access to commands that can do this but the timing is impeccable and who is to say the server admin was not using hacks out of frustration? His name was "Vhalor" and he introduced himself as the server admin before he was klilled.

As long as the infected and survivors stay at roughly the same threat level the game should naturally balance out. No need for mechanics to discourage PVP when the infected are already an indirect solution. -

It's about even, as long as the infected and survivors stay at roughly the same threat level the game will naturally balance out. Also with no balancing mechanic in play the game is working as intended. -
Completely agree, people are just being reckless and not playing DayZ like the tactical shooter it is built upon. In DayZ you are free to explore your own stance on morality in a virtual landscape, no authority or mechanic is there to dictate what is right or wrong. Thats beauty of it.

Since the Six Updater website has no usefull documentation what-so-ever i am frusturated to find after filtering servers the filters dont save! There is no option to save them, I was going to use the updater over the launcher because the launcher has no column to sort by Beta version.

So it has been confirmed there is no way to save your filter settings in Six Updater but it will be added as a feature in the future. SOURCE

May i suggest removing the painkillers from your starting inventory? I feel there is a high enough percentage of them spawning from the loot table to make them unecessary. Also they are not critical to your survival as much as a bandage is.

Seriously use direct chat to quickly identify your intentions in encounters, it will solve your problems. Of course players are going to shoot when survivors are running around with guns pointing them at eachother and not saying anything. Use direct chat.

Just yell out "DON'T SHOOT, FRIENDLY" in direct chat. If they respond, spare thier life, if they don't respond then kill them. It's pretty easy and no need to shoot on sight. Most people will generally give you the once over before they shoot you.

May i suggest creating a confirmation dialogue box for after you click on "respawn" in the ESC menu. This will prevent mis-clicking and the accidental death of your character. It has happened to me twice so far while i was setting up my controls and also when i was meaning to hit "Abort" Thanks.

I secound this. It is weird that you have to confirm "Abort" but "Respawn" is instant. Killed me once and was very pissed. I think you have to give this to ArmA 2 itself though. ^^ Frusturating huh? I sure hope it's something that can be patched in easily.

May i suggest adding a confirmation dialog box to the "Respawn" button in the ESC menu? I have killed myself 3 times by misclicks. It's a truly terrifying experience.

Bullet physics and gun limitations.

This has me thinking. The ARMA II engine strives to be realistic with projectile physics but i find it strange that the M9 does not hit exactly where the iron sites are pointed. Is this inaccuracy realistic? I would assume the iron sites would be dead on at close range. Random bullet spread (RBS) for semi auto when iron sites are involved is a terrible idea. I am afraid that kind of implentation has happened here. -
Yeah just keep looking you will find weapons. Most complaints are probably caused by loot piles being previously looted. Besides having no gun on spawn can be said to be working against banditry and adding more depth and cooperation to the start of the game.

My two main servers are Chicago 21 and 22 - the one mentioned in the OP is one I've only visited once for any length of time, which so happens to be the time mentioned in the OP. When we're playing in our group we avoid servers with nametags as best we can - when I'm playing solo though I tent to just jump in whatever I can find without really looking at what is on or off in the lobby. Oh ok, so they all died then? They DID take pot shots at you...so...well...game on! Great job, I belive your story and you have every right to brag. -

Im confused, i see 5 bodies there, surely you got the kills and was able to loot the bodies? Your saying they disconnected before they died? How are thier bodies there then? -
I find people don't use them properly and just drop them and forget, not sure what it's intended purpose is anyways. Zombies are much to fast to set up the barb wire before they get to you. And if people would be setting them up to kill hordes of zombies just for fun then i'm sure that does not happen often. I don't exactly agree with removing them I just don't understand thier purpose. I'm guessing you can sorround vehicles and tents with them? Well if thats the case i think they should only spawn in military locations so all the new players don't use them and just put them in useless places.

You mean completely? Well if your character is stuck somewhere and you need to suicide then there should be the option. All it needs is a confirmation box. I am worried that i will do it again in the future at the worst possible time. Belive me, your pride is totally destroyed when you accidentally kill yourself!

- Only join servers in the server browser that have "1.60.93965" or the latest beta patch listed next to "Required" at the bottom of the screen and "v1.7.1.5" or the latest DayZ version in the Server name. Should fix the majority of connection issues. The beta patch is a must so always install the latest beta patch http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php -
5 seconds your body stays in the server. Thats how simple the solution needs to be.
