I imagine a lot of us took a long hiatus (myself included) in the last couple of years - maybe sporadically updated and logged in just out of curiousity - but it's nice to finally see our faith in BI starting to pay off and enthusiasm growing, even in the press!! At the end of it all, 5 years for what they developed is a more than fair amount of time so well done to the development team, warts and all. Now I can't wait to see what the modders will come up with over the next year or two. Anyone want to give me odds that Adult oriented material will be among the first additions? I'll take that bet, anyway! Good times ahead Survivors! And boy does "survivors" mean a whole lot more after how much we've gone through with this game. And even though I know there is still plenty to go, all good things come to those who wait and I'm seeing the signs of those good things appearing on the horizon. Just thought my can of beans no one asked for. :)

I didn't actually realise virtually any of that (night time is hard to miss :P), I was just coming back with the enthusiasm of the hype and had not actually played it in over two years so a lot had changed for me making it seem that IT was actually happening. 2) that sucks 3) I have not tried building a base because I'm also playing survivor solo in the woods somewhere so a basic tent setup is generally more than sufficient. 4) The lack of animals is something I put down to tweaking-in-progress. 5) See #3 above. 6) I see crashed ones eveywhere, what's your problem?! Just kidding, yeah that was one biggie I have a gripe with considering how long ago we were shown the alpha helicopter footage. 7) Same as 6 above. But I was hoping to actually find one, didn't realise they weren't implemented yet. That is a bit disappointing, even just a pedal bike especially now that energy and nutritional levels are more important now. 8) I've only clocked about 40 hours on this new version so can't really comment on soft skills. My beard is coming along nicely though. :) 9) Yup, 100% with you here. Hordes could really make or break the "house-of-cards of promises. It's literally the number 1 prerequisite of any zombie/infected game.

I agree, I'd say tracking people with kills immediately after a log out/in would be very easy. The bad connection excuse could easily be disproven once you look at their overall connection stats. I'm sure there could be plenty of other ways of naming, shaming and punishing these kinds of players. Otherwise, just let us all teleport and make it a game we all hate.

Funny you say that cause actually, afterwards, I set up a landmine right behind the same barrel with another ak (just an empty mag this time and nothing else) and put a tank of petrol in front to cover it up - and to help distract anyone walking in from looking too closely. When I came back yesterday everything in the area was ruined so I think I got my revenge. :P God I love this game.

I have cable reels and shovels I'm willing to trade for land mines and some M4 ammo. Not going to have this offer up for long so make sure to get onto while stocks last. ;P

Oh I see... my mistake has been just exploring around the one server with one "main" character... well two when the other one is offline the odd time...

I must be missing something because I just tend to wonder around forests (on my way to gearing) and never find a tent let alone a base.

I've been living de2 experimental prison island for 4 days and the closest I've come to meeting somebody is finding my AK stolen from my barrel. Seemss server hopping iss necesssary evil for the time there is a very small player base. Otherwise you'll just have veteran griefers runiing newcomers when 1.0 launches. Unless I'm missing something?

Forced mic could never work, background noises and general static and interference would make the game itself sound like it's going through an AM radio. I do think we need whisper option though.

I'm having the same issue on AMD RX 480s. Flashing yellow, I think I got it working (sort of momentarily) with whitelist app arma 3 profile but haven't had time to fully explore it. It definitely won't work in windowed mode it seems anyway. Is there any official position on crossfire support at the moment?

Yeah it was a nice aim for 2016 release but it's very common for a project to go over by 12-24 months. Though in it's current state now its a very playable so my patience has been placated again. :) Plenty of time for the helicopters, wolves and hazmat's yet! :)

It's not my video otherwise I definitely would have come around for a second look but it's bloody hilarious, reminds me of all those old school b-movies, specifically Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. :D

It makes the game look very retro, almost like a HD version of a PS2 game... but then maybe my memory is warped. :) It might look good to colour blind people too, and I genuinely don't mean that as an insult.

Will the server be US or EU based?

I've never actually RP'ed on DayZ itself but I have heard of a couple; http://www.dayzrp.com/has been around for a while and I've heard great things about it from people. https://twitter.com/tehredzone is a more recent addition to the roleplay scene and generally more intended for use by Twitch streamers than regular players, though some do manage to get through their application process. Edit: I've never RP'ed on RP servers, I regularly do it for fun when messing with KoS'ers or things like that. :P

I don't see a point in posting a review in Alpha stage unless you are just saying "I did/didn't enjoy it because it's not finished".

They're all old arguments against AMD which are really not relevant to next gen at all. Polaris is likely to be more power efficient than Pascal and also be more supported in DX12 and Vulkan APIs. At the end of the day all I care about is performance per euro, it can bake a radiation cake in my case for all I care! And at performance per euro the 10 quid a year on electricity is not really going to make a dent when deciding what card to buy. Still won't know until they're released but early benchmarks show promising results.

I was in the bathroom two nights ago taking a long earned break from spamming and left the server screen idle but by the time I'd come back I had indeed been logged back in.... I don't know what to tell you other than; sounds about right for DayZ, it's a magic kind of experience across the board. :)

I'm well more excited about the Polaris line-up. But yeah, old rendererer will still crap these cards.... :P

In steam just right click on the game, go to properties > Betas > Opt in. Good luck getting into the servers though, they're over capacity non-stop since last night and no sign of slowing down.

I can't believe this is the performance they're getting from a 760 now on such settings. My 6700k/390x is going to cream all over this game. Freaking love it guys! Keep it up! EDIT: Removed ti, it's just a standard 760!
