If you read my comment you will see a very short and simple explanation why there is a problem there which skews the entire debate where saying 3pp is a fallacy because it is actually a hybrid system. and your logic of "if I can't see them they can't see me" is hilariously silly. Finally, when did I tell anyone they HAVE to do anything? I just don't like misrepresentation of information or false entitlement, of which this argument is full of and I would be just as likely to point it out in any side of the debate.

There is a big problem here though, the real choice is 1pp/3pp hybrid VS 1pp only, which inherently imbalances the choice and also makes an argument that 3pp players cannot/don't want to survive without 1pp. The opposite is not true, 1pp does just fine without 3pp. The irony is, if the game was actually 3pp only in its current form it would be unplayable as soon as you entered a lot of buildings..

Does anyone know why 3pp servers also have 1pp option? Seems the fairest solution is just to have one or the other. Be interesting to see the population figures then.

LOL true, I just never think of shooting people for their stuff. Military bases and areas are great for premium level loot, but as mentioned, the risk is quite great in these places.

Wow... how long is a piece of string? Really depends what you are looking for but I always find that heading inland immediately is a good idea. Just stop long enough to get a bit of food and some clothes in a coastal town.

I'm not a charity and I expect none in return, not for "problems" such as these anyway. 1) I didn't say I wanted anything, I was stating some opinions and then contradicted some "facts". In the end I am just curious to see what the developers will eventually come out with as the final iteration of their vision. Not what people told them to do or what I may come up with as a result of personal bias - organised fun anyone? 2) So what about people that use roller-coasters and feel sick, you don't mind if they slow it down or change it for you, the non-afflicted, so they can enjoy it at their level too? 3) I do not understand this comment, you will need to elaborate. 4) DayZ is an inanimate object and has no power to do anything. But my silliness aside, the game is aimed at a marginalised audience already and most games are. But as for the the tone of the forums or people such as myself; I have observed no such interest in marginalising anyone or anything. In fact it is a nurturing debate environment which quickly weeds out uncooperative, unproductive or destructive (to the project) individuals. Debates such as this are more of a matter of protecting artistic freedom and credibility under the weight of social justice warrior political correctness overstepping its boundaries. As many times as it takes for you to realise that the world doesn't revolve around you. I said it in my second post, just because there are people out there with medical conditions does not mean they have a right to request an alteration to artistic expression, it is certainly nice of developers to put things in for people to make an experience for them but not required (how many games have colour blind options?). Do you also feel that roller-coasters should be made slower for you? I have a friend who has asthma and plays football, should we all run slower when he gets out of breath? The article you quoted is not cited making it incredible, and the author is a pop culture critic at best with not much discernible research or scientific qualification. All that aside even he states that the figures "may" apply to people at "varying degrees" and has admitted there is very little research to back anything up anyway. One of the article's "sources" has this as a disclaimer; Finally; 1pp may not be the cause in a majority of situations. My brother used to get similar sickness when interacting with any aspect of a computer screen and being an electronic engineer this is a crucial part of his job. The solution? He needed glasses. Other reasons could include photosensitive disorders, refresh rates, mouse sensitivity levels, over-exposure etc. Aside from all of this again, there is medication and therapy that can help. Point is, we all have problems, myself included, but it should not be the developers responsibility or burden to bear. They have server issues to deal with!

Berezino was packed when I was there earlier, you had one for every 100 metres or so on the outskirts. They're definitely there. :)

To be fair, everyone has ignored the biggest and oldest player in the game; top-down. I would imagine there has to be a certain demographic that would like an overhead view like in the good ol' Chrono Trigger days...

Not sure advantages would be the word I'd use, but incentives for sure. I think the beauty of DayZ is the disadvantages that a player faces in every day playing. Although I do agree removing 3pp altogether from the game, which as far as I know, has never been considered either in public servers or in-game, would ruin a lot of content creators' options. The game is indeed beautiful and should be appreciated. First world problems. Set your mouse sensitivity to lower or avoid playing video games for prolonged periods - this is actually common advice. EDIT: I just wanted to add in, because I realised I may be coming off a bit callous. It is a bit unfair for someone to expect an artistic concept of the game to be altered just because they, and a small percentage of population, get some degree of virtual reality sickness. Especially when this sickness could be attributed to a myriad of factors like bad lighting, nutrient deficiency, monitor refresh rates etc. My point is, if the Developers decide that the direction they intend for this experience to be 1pp, then a small amount of people with headaches/motion sickness/virtual reality sickness are not a valid enough argument to expect them to change their outlook. Even more so because they have actually provided for an alternative anyway.

Seems like a lot of resources to devote into something that will be literally invisible 99% of the time and have an invisible effect. I like the idea of extreme customisation but I just think that time could be better spent on improving existing or adding more impacting features. Fun idea though! :thumbsup: :)

^^This :beans: For the main menu the only two things I can think of is you're running a lot of processes in the background or if you're using a mousepad on the laptop I know I've had games with issues registering clicks by tapping it or if using wireless maybe the sensor is too far away or low battery. But if those unlikely things don't apply, I haven't seen or heard of anyone with such issues. Strange one to me alright.

It is my belief that people don't play 1pp because it is harder or they are simply afraid. And since the onus is so heavy on KoS, 3pp will win out due to the myriad of strategic advantages. As for the player base, that hasn't really been established yet and I think the devs implementing certain restrictions will push their desired target audience to the vanilla game. In my oppinion 3pp ruins the experience of the desperate fight for survival and horror aspects of the game and turns it into a treasure hunt battle royale with dumb bot AI to inconvenience you. Both types are fun games but the former offers a more rich and rewarding personal experience. Especially if player interaction is a factor.

The beauty of it being that while we're still in alpha, chances are the spawning will be far more frequent than release giving us plenty of time for... err... quality control. B)

That there is a very potent combination. Now just get yourself a ghillie wrap, some hunter clothes, a backpack and you are invisible and quite deadly. :) I love that bi-pod, even just for how it looks.

There weakest part of your setup will be your processor for DayZ at the moment. I'm pretty sure you'll be okay with CS:GO. But there is a commonly reported performance issue with Dual-Core processors at the moment on DayZ so you will definitely be able to run the game eventually, but no way to know if it will work to your satisfaction at the moment. It is in active development so it might work this week and be completely crap next week, you just never know. :) Also, there is a thread for this.

In fact can we Move the Court for Overlord Bones to sticky this? Or move the OP to somewhere where flamers will be exposed to its wisdom and, in turn, hopefully heed it.

Hey thanks for the G&A, a few from me; 1) The graphics are really looking nice and the fog and weather effects are shaping up to be fantastic, so I am wondering if there will be any way to transfer this visual experience into the night-time as the current black and white appearance detracts from the amazing looking dawn and dusk scenes generated by the game? 2) Any plans for foxhole camouflage points to hide IN the ground or traps where a person falls into a pit, breaks their legs or is trapped? We're half way there with the random leg breaks ;P j/k 3) Spray painting messages/arrows onto buildings/rooftops? Tins of paint? Writing with blood? Basically is there any plans for any graffiti system? 4) What about tying people to objects like chairs/fences/poles? A leash for guiding/forcing people to walk? Okay maybe going a bit off the rails here but would be fantastic for hostage situations. 5) Radios/horns/glass bottles with coins (surely a lot of change and money lying around?) etc. for distracting or herding infected? 6) Any plans for expanding the level of violence on screen? Detaching limbs or exploding sections of the body? More gore or animated head-shot perhaps?
