One way to mitigate all that would be to force one character per server so people would be more inclined to go explore-looting. Another is to set all privately owned Public Hives to Private so people/clans can't buy a server for gear, though I actually don't really have an issue with this. Could also limit the amount of servers you can switch in an hour or whatever. As for the low-pop exploit I think it's not really a big enough issue if we fix the other problems like server hopping abuse because they can be invaluable places for noobs to learn their trade(s) without being hunted by trolls every time they spawn. Even I enjoy just running around a low-pop now and again, not necessarily for looting just maybe avoiding stress that day. :)

Yeah I've had a few arguments with streamers who were guaranteeing me Beta by beginning of 2016 and a PS4 version out this Summer since last Summer (You know who you are!). I think as a result of the little actual information joined with a lot of hypotheses, unresearched assumptions and boredom has led to massive propagation of disinformation. The reality is unless 0.60 is an unprecedented, game-changing patch with more features and additions than ever suspected or announced, the end of the year should be our best hope for a working release, maybe even first half of 2017 if delays continue as normal. My little information founded hypotheses based on very basic logic-deduced assumptions is that at E3 2016 we will be given a release date of late Autumn/early-Winter because that will maximise revenue by launching for Christmas/Holidays market and marketing potential by giving a fairly optimum 3-5 months pre-orders/hype. Until then whether it's patch 0.60 or 0.9999B is pretty irrelevant, something the developers themselves have alluded to previously.

Yeah, being friendly and nice gets you killed in DayZ and in trouble in real life, but equally as with anything, the greater the risk the greater the reward. Picking loot up can hardly be considered enriching at this point so meeting interesting characters and getting into paranoia fuelled stand-offs is great fun until we get wolves to run away from. Then I won't need your human contact any more.

I used my 3g mobile phone hotspot to run dayz for a while. You will get owned in PvP every time but it's perfectly fine for hopping around empty servers and collecting loot.

Not trying to be facetious but isn't sniping pretty much all about KoS? Also, while I echo the fortifying of existing structures opinions, I also think it is very important to be able to build camps outside of population centres or in unique locations. I would imagine I will be one of those who will spend many hours in the forests chopping trees and scrounging for raw materials so I'd like it to be in DayZ too. Sometimes I want to sit on full pop servers and never meet a single soul! :P
