I'm always polite and start with a "Hello friend!" though I am generally standing behind cover of some sort and rarely approach without being armed. And I have to add that the last two months the number of friendly or non-hostile encounters has increased for me exponentially. Almost as if the community is....maturing....:P

..and I feel terrible... but satisfied. I was all geared up and arrived in Komarovo when I decided to stop in the police station store-room to roll a "cigarette" to ease the rest of my journey as I hunted for Ghillies and bandits. However halfway through I started hearing footsteps inside the building and before I could properly organise myself I see a Gorka helmet pop through the door causing me to jump and spray my AKM to their near-fatal detriment. My victim turned out to be a cool friendly guy(speaking to me through the wall), not even that upset after I'd emptied the best part of a clip in his general direction. Although I did have to patch him up with saline as a volunteered penance. This was not a good start to my banditry I realised this but my better nature took over. The transformation was not yet complete. Soon thereafter I learned he didn't even have ammo which made me feel all the worse so I gave him my spare scoped SKS. Now, upon our newly-built bedrock of trust we headed towards Czerno to my original destination and mission - Death to dupers and KoSers. Unfortunately something happened and we were separated on arrival at the Police Station in Czerno. When I awoke I was alone in the quiet building, though at least still with all my weapons, supplies and doors locked. The rest-bite didn't last for long as an SMG quickly destroyed the locks I'd set up to keep the infected out and in they poured. That familiar panic set in, this time it was the undead and somebody..or bodies coming in, unannounced, uninvited. as I saw the barrel of the Mosin round the corner I let my AKM rip. I didn't care anymore, anyone who was going to step through those doors will get cut down as long as I had ammunition. And oh my what pleasure, it was indeed somebodies, and whether alone or together they all went down until their three bodies littered on the floor making it impossible for me to leave the stairs I had stranded myself on. But it didn't matter, because as soon as I thought myself safe and looked out the window of the building, though dazed from battle with my vision blurred from blood loss my hearing was perfect. The snap came very quickly, single mercy shot to release me from this bloodrage and letting me flow peacefully into the welcoming darkness. A sniper, a good one. Whether goodwill or not, it was justice for my crimes. But I didn't feel guilty. Not after the first one, the rest knew what they were walking into. I was excited to tell my tale so I ALT-TAB'bed to my Raptr and find that it's still turned off because of Doom Beta (F**** you CA and iD in more ways than one now!). Maybe that was the true punishment for my experiment. Because the real reward had been taken from me. But one thing is for sure, I had a lot of fun making enemies in the Tartan Army server yesterday! Though it is a lot more fun KoS'ing if they know they're going into danger in the first instance. So I thought I'd share my thoughts because I was a little bored. Though I probably won't KoS again, it was a nice foray into the lifestyle of your typical DayZ killer.

Put a nice screenshot up maybe some of our eagle eyed explorers will recognise your location. Could be a fun game come to think of it...

They wouldn't need so many servers surely? And mine are located in the UK/Germany and since PAX is in the US I'm really edging to some good news. Also, what's to stop them from making the servers invisible if it's just for them? *sigh* alas, It will be announced "when it's ready" but I can't help but feel a twinge of anticipation.

An announcement at Pax is not that crazy a concept. Gives them something to go "wow" over. Hopefully that means we're invited too!

This is so relateable for me, I meant to mercilessly kill the first guy and ended up nursing and arming him back to full! And after all that mindless killing I was left with a bit of a "meh" feeling. I think I'll just stick to my less hostile approach...

Just make sure to sound really upbeat and happy else the crazy analyses will start circulating! ;P

I always maintained that the only true way to fix this issue is to separate 1st person and 3rd person entirely. Just have dedicated servers offering one type of camera. As the way it currently stands 1pp side has no advantages of 3pp while 3pp has all the advantages of both. But honestly, I doubt I'll play many 3pp servers once this game is polished. I always seek the most immersive and competitive experience available to me and there are too many immersion breakers in having drone cam.

I had to laugh here when you said this because I got a flash-scare of servers crapping themselves on launch if this were to occur.

I can't wait to pick mine up. It'll be the latter half of the year but I'm more or less ready for it - Just need a second 390x or one of those fancy new Polaris cards, but their no major obstacles because the old gen cards will be much cheaper by September. Has anyone tried multiple headsets for comparison? What are comfort levels like on wearing the Vive vs. others? Is it heavy, does the padding sweat? Is sound coming from your PC or built in speakers? Any nausea or period of adjustment? HBM is going to make the biggest difference at high resolutions because of the bandwidth it can put out so expect this to be very important at 4k, maybe/probably even 1440p in some games. In other words, it all depends on how many objects the card has to render (VRAM) and how fast it can do it (Bandwidth). Room Scale sounds like something that would require CPU usage past the initial rendering. But that's just an assumption as I've read or heard very little about it. The next gen processors are definitely decent, but don't go selling your old AMDs and Intels yet, especially the former, as the new DX12 and Vulkan API's are promising to finally utilise all those extra cores we've been missing in games which should make for an interesting CPU and GPU market in the coming twelve months.

It would probably be more achievable/easier if you buy yourself another copy of the game and never cheat again. Though the majority consent will be for you not to come back to the community - they're an unforgiving bunch :).

I was hoping my question wouldd have been enough clues. But yes, just hold the throw button to build you invisibile energy bar up and release when you want to throw. :)

You're probably right but censors are getting more lenient these days Walking Dead s6 spoiler below And with the primary development being done in the Chech Republic, I would expect looser restrictions from that side of Europe. Though you know America and Australia will pull their religious censor weight behind anything remotely like this hopefully Europe won't bow to the pressure. Worst comes to worst modders will do it.

Really? I have yet to see one infected in a building unless they have been chasing me, although I am definitely glad to hear it. However, I didn't mean jump scare like Silent Hill where you have no way to check or expect anything. More jump scare because you are genuinely afraid to die after discovering a room full of randomly generated "hibernating" infected still in beds or just standing around after dying during the outbreak and being "trapped". No reason for numbers or buildings where it happens to be predictable. Adding on to the atmosphere I mentioned above...where are all the children infected? There is something that would be creepy beyond measure... imagine walking into a class full of kid infected sitting at their desks all dormant.

Oh I like this, I always felt that infected should be roaming the halls and be stuck under beds. Jump scares galore on top of being extra cautious about opening rooms in a building. Looting a town would become far more challenging, scary and realistic this way. Light should also attract them at night. The climbing walls I would enjoy if it was restricted to a degree. Maybe they can climb fences if already chasing and other ladder-like things but to pile all over each other would be a bit much if you are a solo player, perhaps make it a dynamic/horde event rather than a spontaneously player-generated thing but also not sure how far the engine could achieve all this too.

I genuinely know of no one from the top of my head that wants KoS eradicated. There is many that gripe and complain about it, myself included but deep down know that it is essential to the atmosphere. Atmosphere, in this case used as a noun to express; 7) the dominant mood or emotional tone of a work of art, as of a play or novel: e.g. the chilly atmosphere of a ghost story. At least we're together on fighting the no-KoS crowd, point me to them when you see them. :)

Of course KoS is crucial.. every server needs a Negan. Who says KoS is not a part of the game? That's insane. I agree it infuriates me and I hate it and have never done it myself, but it is definitely needed for proper atmosphere.

What's wrong with i5's? The PC is looking good but your GPU as mentioned is a little weak, if you are stuck on budget consider a 290x. There is no real-world difference between that and a GTX 970 barring the price and both cards will run virtually all games in the world on max settings. If overclocking is your thing then the new Skylakes are fantastic and you won't be disappointed with the 6600k for so many years (5+) that you will probably invest in a new PC before you notice any need for more computing power. Also you are short-changing yourself a little on RAM, especially since it is very cheap at the moment, probably cheapest it has ever been. You should look at 16GB at least. Alternatively and better in my opinion; You could go for an i7 4790k/5820k with 16GB RAM, GTX 970 or 290x with SSD for around the same or cheaper and easily match and overtake the performance above. Skylake is great but it comes at a premium and for the same price there is x99 and 1150 Intel platforms which can blow it out of the water. So unless you are getting some good price on the CPU I would forego the extra expenditures that the new platform brings and go for one of them. Also, consider looking at 2nd hand options for your graphic card, a lot of 290x/gtx 970 out there now and many still have manufacturers warranty. EDIT: And for the love of all that is unholy why Windows 10?! Edit2: You know that 60 FPS is only possible in VERY favourable and particular circumstances in the game? You could have an Intel extreme 980 SLi setup and you will still hit crappy frames at times, especially in cities.

Some things like packed bags definitely need to be storable but ther balance between "realism" and "game realism" would be severely disrupted if you could take the car around for a half hour spin and collect every good weapon on the map!
