DayZ Devblog 22nd February 2013

I think the editing is a bit amateurish, the background volume of Arma3 alpha is way to loud. Guessing Smash might work his transcription magic :) -
Arma3 Alpha release potential Impact on Dayz Mod/SA
[email protected] replied to OrLoK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think the merging of the engines is a natural step. Dayz SA would greatly benifit from the new mechanics in arma3. I really hope they port the mods FAST :D -
Absolutely brilliant :D This is truly great news. Glad that Ivan and Martin can now finally be re-united with friends and loved-ones. A shame the Greek officials didn't release them on bail before christmas... Oh well better late than never!

He's alive!!! Good to hear from you Rocket. Hope you have had the time to relax and refuel over the holidays. You have been missed, but everyone on this forum is just looking forward to a quality product from the team. Take your time :) I'll play the mod whenever I get impatient :D -

how is my gameplay still not smooth?
[email protected] replied to zzmik3yzz's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Last little note. Check your application setting regarding video settings. look at post process level and AA, decreasing these parameters gives a nice performance boost. also object detail adjustment will help... -
how is my gameplay still not smooth?
[email protected] replied to zzmik3yzz's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Yes, the Intel cpu beats AMD in most tests. However most of these are single-threaded and intel is the king of single threading. however Arma is heavily multithreaded. This gives Amd an advantage, since they sell true quads for a lot less than intel demands :) -

[email protected] replied to zzmik3yzz's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
cpu and hdd is your major limitations. arma also loves ram, so 8 gb will increase perfomance. like above stated a proper quad is 'mandatory'. an ssd would resolve issues regarding sudden dips in the frames :) -
dayz standalone item suggestions
[email protected] replied to crusey10's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
First, check this thread out http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/38742-suggestions-for-the-dayz-standalone-thinking-outside-of-the-limitations-of-an-arma-2-mod/, and post in it instead of making a new thread :) As for the reduction in damage as the range increases, this is not the case for most modern firearms. As the velocity drops and the projectile hits flesh, the bullet begins to tumble, rather than passing through the flesh as it would at higher velocity. At range the precision of the weapon decreases, not the physical trauma caused. -
looking for a 18+ pilot
[email protected] replied to nutsfathead23's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Interested. I'm 27 years of age, fluent in english. has over 600 hours combined of arma2 and OA before the dayzmod released. Proficient in piloting all sorts of air vehicles. An 'arma hipster' capable of defending the aircraft if need arises. -
Arma 2: Combined Operations - Steam Sale 12/21/2012
[email protected] replied to Legacy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
for sale untill the 5th of january... so the stand alone should probably be released after this date??? just a speculation :) -
Loving this thread :) a lot of good suggestions from what I have read. A personal feature I think would really add a nice twist to the experience would be a sewer system in the major cities. It could be implemented via the underground base building system Rocket is speaking of. Here is my thoughts on how this could work. Manhole covers takes about 5-10 seconds to open and enter the sewer system. Higher chance of catching some sort of disease if the proper gear e.g. gas mask is not worn. Some buildings have manholes in their basements. This will allow for a stealthy approach, but associated with a bit of risk.
