    I died from hypothermia for the first time in ages yesterday. Luckily had a barrel with me so stopped and filled it up, then dropped my hunter backpack and tried to make a fire, fell unconscious just as I was trying to light it. Waited to see if I would wake up but died about 5 min later. Got a good respawn and was back to my stuff in about 15 minutes. Funny thing is it was not raining before hand. Think I put on some damp clothes but was running around at the time so should have warmed up.

     

    Noticed later back at camp that it was "raining" while the sun was out (not unusual irl) but there was no sound of rain, nor visual rain falling, but if I looked closely at a truck or my backpack I could see rain sheeting off of it. Filled up a couple of canteens in this condition, figured it was a bug of some sort, and combined with not having on rain gear or a gorka earlier, was what contributed to the hypothermia.

    Yep, I guess so. :lol:

    Always, always keep some rags with you!

    Even if I drop my gear at my camp, I always take the necessary things like water bottle, rags, etc. with me.

     

     

    It's been so long since I needed rags I got lazy and left them behind. Always have at least one canteen on me, and usually pick up more along the way, as well as any food. Gonna have to get back into good Dayz habits!

     

    The infected seemed a little different somehow. Besides the fact that could not outrun them, sound seemed a little different, and maybe something else. Might monkey around with them some more later (with sufficient rags lol).

    Heheh, Dayz is such an asshole. For me it was similar. I put all my weapons away at camp. Also an M4 with ACOG sights, all pristine. I thought I'd just take a stroll and return later. However, later the server vanished and hasn't re-appeared. So all I have now is a pistol and a big ass and empty blue mountain backpack. I haven't had a random death in ages, but I always find other ways to lose my gear.  

     

     

    Left my guns and melee weapons at camp and went looting. Forgot about the two infected at the east end of Novo. Since I drove through one of them the other day I though maybe they're just bugged and won't do any damage, stopped to find out (was on foot) and nope, they still do damage. Took off running and those fuckers did not give up, nor could I outrun them. Finally got enough space to stop and equip a pickaxe I had picked up. Didn't have it on a hotkey though so by the time I equipped it I was getting hit upside the head. First one went down with two hits, the other took 3-4 hits. Bleeding and no bandages nor rags nor any clothes that could be torn into rags. Checked a couple nearby houses and of course nothing useful. Did see some loot I would have taken if I wasn't bleeding out but color was starting to fade so I knew I didn't have a whole lot of time to be monkeying around. Finally logged out and will log onto my account (I was on my gf's account hehe) and take some bandages to her toon.

     

    Could I be the only dumb SOB to almost be killed by infected in .58?  :blush:

    I just posted in the weapons thread but I know people here would appreciate....

     

    The PM-73 RAK is collapsible.

    We should be able to store it like this for less inventory slots.

     

    Using it in this configuration would add heavy sway and climb as it's without grip or buttstock.

     

     

    Where is that weapons thread, sounds like my kind of place.

    I am starting to struggle a bit as well. It's constantly raining and at first I was promptly cooling off and eventually cold. After a fire I was dry and neutral again. Then after more rain I suddenly started to cool off rapidly instead of promptly.

    Sitting next to a fire again to get warm again. I should find myself a suitable raincoat. :lol:

     

     

    Are you guys on servers with day/night cycle? I'm on a 24/7 day server and I never get cold, even when it rains. Although I usually have on a Gorka or raincoat if it's raining. Kind of miss nighttime, mostly for enjoying a nice campfire. Still light fires during the day, but it's not quite the same. Might jump on a day/night server next wipe.

     

    Speaking of fires, molotov cocktails would be nice. Only need to add glass bottles, and the mechanics/animation of course. Game already has gasoline, rags and matches. If they add molotov cocktails I'm gonna burn some shit down. Starting with those #@!% apartment buildings.  :lol:

    I found two so far, one which I stored away (packed) with 3 or 4 civilian tents. Apparently they despawn if they are not pitched because they were all gone. So hiding unpitched tents in tree's for later is not an option. :lol:

     

     

    Yeah I found one car tent and one mil tent first few hours of the patch, stashed them for safekeeping and when I came back an hour later they were gone. I thought, son of a b*tch, somebody stumbled upon my stash! Only other person on was one of the admins. Think you are right, they despawn quickly once you take them and set them down without pitching.

     

    On that note, I have found a heck of a lot of civ tents that seem to spawn in already damaged. I always throw those as far as I can from the spawn points. Usually out a window or off the roof.

    Or just add the FN Fal :P awesome weapon imo. I would love more semi automatics in general, but no clue which ones would qualify.

    My most wanted gun additions: FN Fal and AN-94 :blush:

    I was gonna say FN FAL and maybe a SAW would be the cats ass. Why are there no belt feds in Chenarus? Should at least be some PKM's floating around. Some RPD's and RPK's as well. Although, imagine the nashing of teeth that would result in Dayz adding belt feds.

     

    EDIT: RPK's would be a good compromise. 7.62x39 and uses 75 rd drums (or 30 or 40rd mags)

     

    DEVS: I have two Yugo RPK's you can use as models if you need/want!

    I do like me some Larue stuff. Have a few dillos and some dillo dust somewhere. But in a 7.62x51/.308 I would rather have an M1A or M14, or maybe FAL, especially at that price point. Looking hard at getting a Springfield M1A Scout with walnut stock. Probably just throw an Aimpoint Pro (or maybe a micro) on it and call it a day. 

     

    If the devs added an M14 w/optional scope attachment, that would be one hell of an awesome thing. Still in use by some NATO forces (USA at least) so it's presence in Chenarus would not be out of the question.

    I strongly disagree, the AK-101 has more accuracy compared to the AKM. The AKM would be dominant damage wise but the accuracy prise goes to the AK-101. It's also much lighter than an AKM.

    As I said, it could be pure personal preference. I rather have better accuracy than damage because handling the recoil on an AKM was in my opinion ridiculous.

     

     

    Yes, personal preference. Have several AK's back in the states, AR's as well but for some reason I prefer my AK's just a little more. No arguing that an M4/AR has better accuracy potential than an AK, but damage wise if SHTF I would prefer to have a 7.62x39 AK, rather than a 5.56 (M4 or AK). AK sights are horrendous but with an Aimpoint I'm pretty happy.

    I found a single infected in the usual place (at the beginning of Novo, near the Humvee) yesterday night. Slowed down to admire the sight, and he glitched through the truck front to back. Once at the back of the truck he got up in the cargo area. I tried to drive off with him, thinking it would be cool to drive him around with me, but he kept falling out the back. He eventually ended up standing on top of the cab of the truck. Took some screen shots and then left him there.

     

    No graphics issues but then I didn't get out of the truck.

    What? I know there were ak74s galore, but m4 didn't spawn coastally. If you were finding them, it was definitely dropped duped items.

     

    In fact, I've almost 700 hours playtime, and have yet to see one in-game. Although, I'm sure I been killed with one once or twice before. (fyi - I don't look for heli crashes)

     

    800 hours total (on two accounts) on Dayz and I have never once seen an M4. After the reset yesterday I found two coupled 30rd mags, and a damage M4 buttstock, and in the past have found ACOGs but never an M4. Never really cared either, since I prefer an AKM. Have the AUG I found yesterday but ugh. A Tavor would be nice. Not knocking convict technology but even during the apocalypse one must maintain certain standards!

    Does it seem like high end loot is spawning at higher rates after the update (or was it just I was one of those poor saps who was playing on a private server that didn't spawn much at all)?

     

     

    I'm playing on a low pop private server and got on right after the update. Had almost all my good stuff stashed in car and civilian tents, barrels and backpacks on the ground, oh and in truck cargo as well. Had a trumpet on my guy and some .22 ammo lol. Anyway found a pristine AUG within probably 30 min, and several 30 and 40 round mags, also M4 mags, which I have hardly ever seen in hundreds of hours. Also found an AK74 and mags and some AK mags but still no AKM. 

     

    So for me at least it seemed things were spawning more, but it may have just been the reset and loot fresh spawning. Gonna get on now and see what it looks like. Need tents and barrels for the camp, can't be living like a savage, apocalypse or not!  :lol:

    Yeah we had that happen too TAco- just came in here to mention it. Took our pot and tripod with it when it was gone. Not sure if it was related but we basically all got booted out of the server but it doesn't show in the logs that it restarted. We logged back in and presto chango- all our fires and accessories including stones were gone. 

     

    Not terribly impressed since getting those built and finding a tripod (for the fires we built without upgrading) now adays isn't that easy. 

     

     

    Yeah that sucks you lost the tripod and pot as well. I only had the stone fireplace setup the first time, staking my claim and then took off running to get camp stuff again. Came back and noticed it was gone so I made another one and lit it to see if it made any difference (doesn't). Have a tripod but no pot yet, hopefully it gets sorted before too long. I like lighting a nice campfire and enjoying the fruits of my labor. Suppose just making a new fireplace each time isn't too onerous, however pickaxes degrade at an overly fast rate. Must be made in China!  :P

    Hotfix looks good so far, although have to start squirreling away a metric shit ton of stuff again to really tell. Which conflicts with the new motto.  :P

     

    Noticed improvised rock knife now degrades, and had a stone fireplace despawn on me within probably an hour, although I hadn't lit it yet. Made another one and lit it, time will tell if it sticks around or not.

    Seems to be m4s and other high end guns in preponderance. Dunno if it's duping or not but it's a bit out of control.

    Also I'd take suppressors out of the game completely. There are almost 300 million guns in america but probably a few thousand silencers. And they'd mainly be in the hands of specialised military.

     

     

    I have around 10 suppressors myself IRL, many people have a similar amount, or more. YMMV depending on country but a few thousand suppressors in civilian hands is way low. Of course things may be different in Chenarus...

    Damn, and I had a pretty mega base going on. Barrels, tents, trucks, walls, buildings and all storage capacity was full to the brim. Glad I took some screen shots last night  :lol:

     

    Not sure I have the energy to do it all over again, especially since it'll just get wiped again before long. Probably just do a mini camp this time.

    This started happening to me after my upgrade to Win10.  I've narrowed it down to issues with the Nvidia drivers for my GTX970.  I lose video, and my video recording crashes and will not recover without a reboot.  I have not reproduced the problem in any other graphic intensive games.

     

     

    Hmm I'm also using Windows 10. Also no freezing with other games.
