Just wanted to say that even though it's glitchy, I'm really excited about the first iteration of .58, think it's going to be an interesting few pushes but the end result will be badass. Anyway back I go.

Servers down, update incoming, looks like.

These guys put in a lot of time and effort. I respect them. The way some folks talk on various sites, you'd think these devs are bums, just flat out not true. I respect them.

Nice.

I too check all barns.
-
Dang. That's cool though.

Just wanted to add a "+1" to the OP's suggestions. Feel they would be quite useful and are sorely needed. On the gardening implement: An ashwood stick combined with a can or something could be an easy crafting item, and would make sense to the game world. Just a thought.

Yep, lost a AK74, Kash optics, whole nine yards to a "truck black hole" the other day on a 1pp server.
-
Yep, had that happen, had to move out of the zone, was gone about 500 to 1000 yards for about 1 minute or so, came back, was open and enter-able. Hope that helps.
-
Yep, just recast after a string of 7 or 8 fish, if you enlarge the pic, it says "I have caught ... something " . I was honestly bewildered for a second but still managed to grab a screenshot of it while the message was up! :) I agree, totally awesome way to get an item. LOL
-
Ever been fishing and had this happen? Boots, pristine, gotta love the devs :) Was a first for me.
-
Ok I'm going to go grab sticks from one specific spot, move away 10 yards and then craft it, when it disappears I will go back to where the bush was that I cut the sticks from, good idea! Edit: No luck, grabbed sticks from bushes, moved directly backwards 10 to 15 yards, crafted fireplace, placed on ground, vanished. Went to the bush site(still on ground was the "felled" bush), nothing there. Seems that it won't work with "sticks", probably because the item does not exist in the location of the bush, the item is generated after the bush object is interacted with. Strange.

Yep, did that also, result was: Fireplace in backpack, stable, no prob. Place on ground, disappears. Such a strange bug. Would anyone mind going on US Central 0-1 and trying to make a fireplace and setting it on the ground? Literally before I can light it, it disappears. Just got to thinking it was because I was using bark with stick to craft. Just tried it with a rag, same situation. Not sure how to submit it to feedback tracker, as I can't find a workaround or the actual "trigger" of the bug.
-
Just tossing this out there: On US Central 0-1 (1st/3rd) I have created 6 fireplaces this morning, and each has disappeared once placed on the ground. I just dropped a stick on the ground, and then added the bark and created a fireplace on the ground, same thing, fireplace disappeared within a few seconds. Hopping to another server to see if the issue is there as well. Also, I normally play on 1st person only servers, going to try making one on that character as well. Want to send it to feedback tracker, but not enough data yet. Edit to add: Just moved to US Southcentral 0-1, worked fine, built a fire and cooked off my 8 fish fillets. Going back to US Central 0-1, going to see if I can make one now(was a player side bug) or if not (something on the server side). brb Edit 2: Nope, still having the fireplaces disappear nearly instantly. Another strange side effect: The fish that I had just cooked is now red(hot) but the icon is raw instead of at the first stage of "done".

I agree with a lot of your thoughts, like the spears for hunting, netting to fish, good ideas. Side note: you can get a ashwood stick with just a improvised stone knife, no need for the axes unless you need logs. But yeah I have found that a shovel, hoe, or pickaxe is a necessity. I would like to see a way to dig that was off a crafted tool. maybe a stick combined with some cans or such? I keep feeling that they should allow the metal wire to be fashioned into either the snare, or into a fish hook, I mean, it just makes sense to me that you could do so rather easily in a real situation, and would take almost no effort to implement in game. Another thing I think is really needed is improvised shelters, and shelter concealment, which I think both could be implemented fairly easy. Good stuff. Like what Ebrim mentioned about snares, as I use snares a lot. Though I would suggest stashing or carrying a hoe / shovel/ etc, at least until camp site if you want utility for gardening. I think gardening is going to be a big part of survival, as is hunting / trapping. Another edit to add: Also I think food spoilage is going to be a thing in the not so distant future, and I think that we may see meat smoking, and dehydration / drying techniques for the meats and greens. Hoping so at least.

Sorry you died, too bad you didn't drop 'em, but that's DayZ. Anyways, I agree that food scavenging could use some razzle dazzle so to speak. Can confirm that Fishing is in and working well. On the fishing, I find that if "there is no movement" for about 30 seconds of f spam, I just move around and re-cast, seems to work well, not sure but I think it resets every time you reposition and re-cast. Hope that helps, don't give up!

Improvements for the **IMPROVISED BOW** (Quiver, Arrow Stack Limit, Range)
trikstyle replied to 0.64 Freerider's topic in Suggestions
Lot of great ideas, hoping that devs find them feasible and interesting/ worthwhile. Just wanted to add my +1 -
When you pick it up, it is no longer a CLE factor. I play lone wolf, but have friends. I stash things at our known camps(we have 6 positions) I carry 2 canteens myself, one for hydration, one for gardening(carrying 10 pumpkin seeds and a shovel has saved my bacon a time or 10) If four canteens offends your senses, you must pass out at the guys dual and triple wielding guns and etc :)

Had a great run thus far after the character wipe: Cherno Start, not too shabby: Halfway along my journey: Stopped for some lunch :) Interesting find about 3/4s along Camp1: Camp2: Extras abound: Think they really are tuning CLE, seems impressive and promising to me!
-
Can help you with that, happened to me the other day, older tricks won't work anymore as you can't prone and roll. Here's how I did it: Go to a corner in the walls, face it (the corner) directly. Start running at it. Quickly exit the game(don't use the menus) or disconnect your internet whilst still running at the corner. By the time you log back in, your character will be unstuck and in the side yard of that house. Hope it works for you, worked for me!

Yep tent wipe, keep absolute essentials on you when you log. Consider persistence wipes as good training :) Concerning rabbit snares: What I've seen is that you have what looks like 3 possible outcomes when you deploy a snare: 1. No rabbit caught no damage to snare 2. No rabbit caught snare ruined (the "one that got away"?) 3. Rabbit caught, snare condition degraded (If using pristine wire it will degrade to damaged, if using damaged wire it will degrade to ruined). My method is as follows: Craft 2 to 3 rabbit traps Go near your camp, but not too near(best places I've found is within 10 feet of a water source or a dry creek bed). Deploy 2 to 3 traps each about 6 to 10 feet from each other. Go grow some pumpkins or something (loot a village, hunt some game[when there's more game *cough devs*] ) Come back and check them after about 10 minutes Profits :) Seems to work excellent for me.

All gathered on a non "fresh" server, with 1 KOS in process of gathering another tent. Figured out the trick to rabbit snares. Missing zed, but certain it'll be worth the wait. Wish that wildlife / hunting game distribution was: a.) spread out more b.) populating the forests and extreme remote areas more. Most of the remote areas feel sterile and lifeless right now, hope they fix that. Really think this is a great update overall though. Widow (not sure if I have my image / spoiler tags right, if not, I will fix them in a minute if possible. eta: nevermind, got 'em working on first go :)

They haven't gone into specifics, but the new "horde" code was having some form of exception that ended up building up and causing massive server instability. I would bet they have a rough idea and it was in a benign looking piece of code that is quite vital. So now in-house they are testing testing testing zombie AI. Just a guess.
