On public servers people just find a server that's always low pop and make their tent there, nobody will find it. Private servers are different though. -

Yeah, I always saved my battery for a cattle prod or stun baton, they were OP against zombies or players. -
This is a very good idea, like in the mod you can dig stashes, a backpack on the ground is too visible and can easily be found.

Compasses are spawning, but they seem to be pretty rare.

This is one of the best suggestions I have seen! Some military guns (AKM, AK101, VSS) could be mostly spawning at these dynamic events(crashed military convoys maybe?) like the M4 and AUG are heli crash exclusives. Server hoppers would scream in pain when they can't find that AKM and drum mags by hopping. -
A few days ago I saw a DayZ Studio Tour video and there was showed a refrigerator as a world container, all working and shit, so my question is what happened to it? I haven't seen any info about it after that, googling or forum search didn't help. If anybody knows something about this, please share your info :D

Try going into a 20-30 server, and don't go into the big cities, just loot some small houses and deerstands on the way inland. -

Other ideas here are good, I think, but a trading screen? Shouldn't trading be hard and you could have to trust the other player that he doesn't just take the stuff and leave without giving anything. I mean the current "system" is more realistic IMO. -

I'm looking for a battery. Preferably many, one does the job, but yeah, can't seem to find one myself. I can trade it for anything you want, well anything civilian loot, I don't go to military areas. Some items that I have: Regular sewing kit(pristine), gas stove+large gas can+ cooking pot(damaged), 1 human steak for all the cannibals out there. I'm on 3rd person and public.

If you look closely you see(at least I think) that it is not the Green Mountain tower, its not shaped like a "lighthouse"(I can't think of a better description) like the one at Green Mountain. I'm not completely sure though, but I will look at the map and try to find that spot.

Ahem... I don't want to argue with people that don't understand what alpha and beta mean, but I gotta tell you that even my crappy Mac runs the game well enough. If your pc can't handle it, I suggest you upgrade it.

When for example starting a new character on a private hive and its night a glowstick can help you a lot. At least when 0.57 hit stable and the only servers were night the glowstick was a gift from gods :D Indeed many people just find a day server but that is kinda sad, they don't get to experience the different environment in night. And they don't get to be scared by bushes, their own shadow or the moon. I did. Maybe im just a pussy. -

Yeah, I just think... The video is pretty old so I'm surprised that there is no info about it. (I'm not complaining about dev speed, I think they're working pretty fast for such a big project)
