Am I the only one who thinks the mod had better atmosphere?

Yes the mod had a darker and more creepy atmosphere. But is that a bad thing if SA is brighter? It's like "life goes on even when the humans are gone" kinda like the Last of Us. Even though there is not much overgrowth or nature claiming back the cities but that makes sense if the apocalypse hasn't been going on for long. We can't know what the devs decide to do with the map, or how long the infection has been going on. -
Useless wilderness? I wouldn't call wilderness very useless. Unless there is gonna be bears and rabbits in the middle of Elektro.

A 3 hour timer for perhaps a hardcore mode would be good. No more suicides and returning to your body.

I remember reading some status report(not sure if it was status report though) about a hardcore mode, and I remember that there was something about a 12 hour timer after death. I'm not sure if it was 12 hours, but it was supposed to be only on hc servers. That would solve the problem for those who would play hardcore.

Everybody else is talking about guns but oh well. In the start you mentioned that the game has to be dumbed down to attract more customers. I would say that was the case with Arma 2 to Arma 3. But DayZ? Isn't this supposed to be the "anti-game" where everything is against you and there is no hand holding? Didn't Dean say it himself? I don't know about the recoil since I don't usually look for automatics but just had to say that. -

You can do that? Just press the camera mode button in the upper panel( thats like: host/hive/camera mode/players/ping) im not sure about the terms (writing this on my phone)but its there.

Ehh ever been thinking why everybody wants a heli and not a plane? You can't hide a plane in the forest or in your base, but you can do that with a heli. It just is too hard to keep a plane that it's not worth it, you would have to have the whole airport defended to even land without getting shot...

Isn't eating while sitting/walking coming with the new character/animation controller. Barricading is also coming someday.

Solution: Have no friends that play DayZ, be sad, play alone and be so paranoid that you shoot everything that moves, die to a group of 6 fully geared guys. Repeat. -
@op I like your profile pic. Also I agree that the ATC towers should spawn better loot. But the best military gear should be helicrash/some other dynamic event exclusives(+ the rare m4 in a barn that CLE "promises"), that way the hoppers wouldn't get the best stuff so easily.

Once I had a tent and all the good shit but the problem was that it was on 1pp public and nobody plays on those servers. Every server had under 10 people so no chance of meeting anybody other than server hoppers. So I just shot all my guns at trees and rocks and finally just suicided...

So I got into the mod from standalone a few days ago. After starting to know how you do things and stuff in the mod I started wondering how long is the time between updates/patches? Do patches come monthly? Also does your character/tent/stash get wiped on updates?

Shot from 2 meters away? It is different than 500 meters, of course it depends on the caliber also.

If one thing is unrealistic in a game doesn't mean there should be space guns and lightsabers. Gun damage is fine and it is a zombie game. A realistic zombie game.

Current gun damage is fine. This ain't no CoD. In real life if you get shot from a Mosin to the chest I'm fairly positive that you would die. DayZ is trying to be realistic.

Didn't you notice al the new mechanics in 0.57? I mean hand drills, torches, digging worms with stone knife, new fish trap and others. Survival is easy now because CLE and it is still wip. I'm pretty sure that in 1.0 (probably earlier) your dreams will come true.
