    In my first post I haven't even replied to you personally, then you quoted me and called me a prick. I have followed DayZ since the early mod days, not sure about you. Of course praising imaginary, non-existing mechanics is contributing more than actually demanding some proof that they are at least work in progress and a real possibility.     Your ignorance levels are certainly impressive. If you choose to ignore the innovative mechanics of FPS games, then there is no point of further discussion. Stamina system was pretty complex in ACE, America's Army has a solid healing system, but feel free to belive that DayZ will make it better, since some dev said so. On top of that you're trying to convince us that so far non-existing features of DayZ will be great beyond anything we've ever seen. How about instead of insulting me, we continue this discussion when DayZ has those systems working, then you might actually have some arguments to back up your claims.

    No wonder people claim that SA is a great game (even in its current state) if they never experienced any great games before. Weight and stamina innovative? Oh wow. Just to name some DayZ - related games that had it before: ACE for ArmA 2, DayZed for ArmA 2, some Epoch variants, recently - Origins, ArmA 3. I understand, I thought my first car was the best ever, untill I've tried other ones.

    *fist bump* 1.13 is a new life for JA2. I come back to it every few months. Another title that I regularly come back to - 1998 Might and Magic 6. No mods, same bugs it had when released. Still great.

    Sorry, my bad for experiencing DayZed and other great mods. One more thing. If people could stop talking about nostalgia that would be great. I don't need anybody to tell me what I can and what I can't enjoy. In fact, I regularly come back to some older games and they're still great even when comapared to recent titles. I've actually spend a few hours this weekend playing DayZ mod and it's variants. Surprise - still good and exciting. Will stick to it while waiting for changes in SA.

    Please, stop building villages everywhere

    I miss the actual travelling and wishing that I had a vehicle. In the mod you would hit a village and it either had valuable loot or not. If not - time to travel. Now with shitload of new loot spawns that is not needed at all. Could we at least have proper zombie counts? Hordes in the cities? That way: small village - small risk, small reward City - high risk, high reward

  12. I've never seen any other alpa that would run so poorly. Most of the devs make sure that their game is working at least half-decent before they realease it to public demanding money.

    I was expecting successor of DayZ mod as well. The basic mod. Not those Epoch/Origins abominations. There was even the DayZed, that few people heard about, that offered true zombie survival. Which had working stamina system, milking goats and ton of other features. So far SA is neither about survival nor about PvP, so I'm just waiting and waiting for a patch that will show the devs have chosen one of those directions.

    ArmA 3 in alpha stage was working better than current SA. Event ArmA 2 engine is smoother than what we have now. Even though, they had working ArmA 3 engine, they choose to not pick it, so now we're stuck with shitload of engine related problems.

    So is there any way how I can improve my fps in current version of SA? With everything on minimum and 1920x1080 resolution I get around 45 fps in small towns, slightly better in villages and just barely over 30 in big towns. I used to think that it's the fault of buggy ArmA engines. I know that devs don't want to call what we have now an ArmA engine, because they either "improved it" or replaced with "something better". I haven't really played ArmA games since my PC upgrade, but yesterday I decided to check out Chernarus Wasteland in ArmA 3 and... Holy Shit! Running on high settings, game looks beautiful and delivers stable 60+ fps. Why can't we have ArmA 3 engine in SA? Seriously, grab ArmA 3, add zeds and you allready have something better than current SA. I guess it's time to check how Breaking Point is doing...
  16. Recently I've realised that my approach towards playing 1st person view in DayZ has changed. Previously I used to play both modes even though I've spent most of my time in DayZ (SA and the mod) using 3pp. I think that it begun with recent release of GTA 5 on PC, where I mostly played using 1pp. In the past I've witnessed many threads about 1pp vs 3pp, and not a single one could convince me that 1pp is more fun. Usually 1pp enthusiasts would just brag that their setting requires more skill, 3pp is cheating etc. Then they would suggest removal of 3pp or something similar. Basically, those guys were massive d*cks. No wonder, I wasn't convinced. One more thing I want to mention before I start: Play whatever mode you want, it's YOUR choice. Why I think 1pp can be more fun: 1. Paranoia. You see what your character sees. Nothing more. You might meet your death behind the corner of the house, but you won't see it untill it stares right in your face. Hopefully, as the time passes, our character's lives will become more precious. Tougher survival, more rare items and guns and the paranoia will grow back to the mod's levels. Imagine running around military area. You've just found you favourite, rare gun in the barracks. About to run out but suddenly you hear unusuall noise. Footsteps? Was it a zombie? Nothing after that. Will you stay in the corner and wait? Will you peek out, knowing that someone might shoot you in the face? 2. Driving So far we have limited options for vehicles, but it should change in the future. Driving in 3pp is easy. You can easily stick to the road and look around in the same time. If someone shoots you, you can probably spot them while still driving. 1pp changes it drastically. If you're the driver, you better focus on the road or you'll risk crashing into debris. Is that a dude on my left? Hmm, lets see. *Boom* You crashed into a tree. Wanna know if someone's chasing you? Use the mirrors or risk looking back. Going offroad? Better watch CAREFULLY for rocks. One more thing. Lets say we can put some extra protection for the front windscreen (like in Origins). Big piece of scrap metal, with small hole to look through. Congrats. You're protected from the front, but suddenly you can't see shit. Fair trade. 3. Flying It might be comming, and if it is I wouldn't mind seeing it only on 1pp servers. You WILL need a lot of practice for your dedicated pilots. Average bambi might be able to slowly land with auto hover on, with a lot of space and on a flat ground. That's it. We don't need bullshit "flying manuals" to find and read before giving players flying vehicles. Just limit camera to 1pp in vehicles, spawn some Antonovs and enjoy the lulz when people try to land. No parachutes this time, force them to land if they want to fly somewhere. 4. Sneaking. Oh look, a guy camping in the bushes with a sniper rifle. If you can get behing him and he doesn't hear you, you can probably even empty his backpack. 3pp camera won't give away your position anymore. To sum up. Give 1pp a shot. Don't test it just for running around and looting, but try driving, fighting from that perspective. You can get back to 3pp servers any time you want, but maybe, just maybe there's a whole lot of excitement just waiting there for you. Feel free to share your thoughts but keep it civilized.

    There are servers that spawn almost no loot, yet I found multiple places where loot just spawned on top of each other. Definitely not working as intended.

    There are no mushrooms in Chernarus :/ I know my myshrooms. I've been mushroom picking every summer/atumn for ages now. My first time was when I was 3 years old. I want mushrooms. Uh, rl skills? Does holding your pee for long time, count?

    Come on, it isn't even remotely close to what some mods were offering in terms of survival. And it's not hardcore either, unless you're one of the guys that hasn't figured out yet to check car wrecks and deer stands. I like sneaking past zombies and the fact that they are tougher now. I don't like zombies teleporting around me and hitting 3 times in a single animation. I like finding camo clothing and vests in civilian areas. I don't like how useless military zones are right now. It's ok. Some people whine that it's too hard, others grab loot and survive no prob, so it's kinda balanced?

    Cooking in .55

    It's overly complicated at this point. Last week I was doing some yard work. Cutting some branches, raking some old leaves etc. Eventually I've made a fire to get rid of all that crap. First of all, I didn't need any paper/rags (kindling) to start the fire. Leaves and dry grass were good enough. Eventually I decided to roast some sausage. All I needed was a stick and a knife to sharpen it. Omnomnom, nice and easy. I could have done the same if I had a piece of raw meat. So why do I need so much stuff in DayZ? Cooking tripods, pots etc. You want people to hunt and gather and then you complicate it for no reason.

    It's quite broken atm. You can get some loot to survive, but don't expect anything fancy.
