@DoctorRayRay It's very possible for this to be a hoax. I experienced it personally, but it was on the server that's been name dropped several times. Someone could know people would check it out and likely on that server. He even mentioned the TIME he had heard it. It sounds like the perfect bait to get people there, and pull off the hoax. You CAN broadcast with a transmitter, I tried it. Nobody has ever experienced it on any other servers. The grid location is very easy to find. Maybe the person behind this is Russian. Maybe a woman? It's very possible it's a hoax. Until I catch it on my stream on a random server with no other people in the server (or only friends) I'm leaning towards hoax

Until I hear a signal on a server that wasn't name dropped here or reddit, I'm leaning towards player generated

I found my pristine transmitter on a shelf in a small shack. Eats batteries up KINDA quick, but it's not too bad.

A good friend of mine IRL is part of a mod team for a pretty popular dayz mod. He's got connections with a few people who are either on the dev team for SA, or can get in touch with them. I told him about all this a few mins ago. He's gonna ask around and see if he can find anything.

I didn't know you could broadcast with the transmitters. So lets look at this logically. The person who claimed to find this originally has claimed to have heard it on other servers. He name dropped servers. He even mentioned the TIME he "heard" them. Those servers are where other recordings have come from. It COULD be a hoax. The person who originally "discovered" it could know people would go to the servers named, and he could be broadcasting knowing people would be there listening. On the other hand, prior to the last update the transmitter was still known as a walkie talkie, I don't believe it had multiple channels or anything either. There were a lot of new things added in the last update that werent in the patch notes. The transmitter was clearly updated. Why would they update the item so early in the alpha if there was no real use?

I don't see how it could be a hoax. I played around with my transmitter and I couldn't find a way to "use" it besides turning it on/off and switching channels. As far as I know you can't broadcast with it (yet).

I started watching it again as well in my steam overlay. Thats what you are hearing initially. The signal starts to come in for real which is where you hear me sound surprised since I was watching the video of it as it started to happen. You see me turn the radio on/off and change channels to start/stop the transmission and confirm its authenticity. We were on the Civil Warriors server, and the server time was around 21:00 We were in the Elektro industrial area near the docks. We moved NW heading to green mountain when the signal came in the 2nd time. We could still see the city but were far away, and the signal wasnt as strong.

I picked up the transmission in elektro TWICE while on the civil warriors server. Was by the docks at first, it was pretty clear. We left for green mountain as soon as we heard it. We were pretty far outside of the city when it started again, but it was mostly static the second time. You could hear the message, but it seemed to be weaker the further we were from the city. Before we could get to GM the server restarted and it was daytime. We are in a different server now, at GM, waiting for a signal to come in. Oh yeah, and i was streaming the whole thing ;) Im still streaming, ill post a vod later.

actually i have, and nothing was done about it besides them getting banned from ONE server.

1.) thats what I wanted 2.) when I kill someone who has an AS50 thermal and then the server gets NUKED a minute later... yeah, im pretty sure its a hacker. 3.) I am so smart, S-M-R-T, I mean S-M-A-R-T (homer quote) 4.) its happening everywhere, every server I go to. If you play like a noob and dont have vehicles, camps anywhere and just run around in cherno all day then you prolly wont see it, but when you setup a camp in a random ass spot in the wilderness and all of a sudden get ambushed by the only other 3 people on the server 5 minutes after you setup a camp im pretty sure its a hacker.

I understand this is an alpha, but nobody is going to want to continue testing it if you dont do something about the insane numbers of hackers these days. It was never this bad before. I cant go to ANY server without finding some retard with an AS50 thermal on them who teleports right back to you and kills you after you kill him. You cant go to any server and setup a camp because these pricks all have radar hacks and find you and your camps wherever you are. This game WAS fun but ive really had enough of these hackers. Battleeye is a fucking joke, please implement some REAL form of protection to stop these assholes from ruining the game for everyone else. kthx </rant>

Oh btw are there any other confirmed heli spawns besides the island? Flew all over the map and didn't see any other helis on my server.

Helis should have a loud speaker on them so you can call out to people on the ground. Talking in direct chat isnt loud enough for anyone to hear you on the ground. If the crew chief had a loud speaker it would be really fun, could also play music through it Vietnam style lol

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE FUCKING HACKERS! This shit is getting out of hand to the point that its no longer fun to play.
