    Zombies ruin PVP

They're stupid which makes for some unpredictability. They may get aggro'd by the shot, then get distracted by you, which can be annoying, but it's just part of the game and it kinda adds to things that zombies "don't make sense". They're aren't rational, thinking, beings. They're infected people that are prone to attack things and sometimes they can focus on the sound of a gunshot and sometimes they'll focus on the impact of the round...and sometimes they'll just see you and come at you and not give a shit about anything else. Their pathfinding isn't very good, it never really has been. But, TBH, it's a million times better than it was 5 or 6 years ago.

    Zombies ruin PVP

I've just been shot by some cunt in the middle of a town in Livonia. I had a hoe and some rags. This geared guy shot me with a loud automatic weapon, so I reckon an assault rifle of some sort. There were zeds all over the place. Was he shooting me for my hoe? I've no doubt that every zombie that heard him shoot flocked to him and he was already being chased by several. But, frankly, there's not enough zombies. If someone does that in the middle of a zed infested place they should be overwhelmed by them. People in this game should be afraid to even speak, never mind shoot.

    Zombies ruin PVP

Nothing vague about it at all. It's good that zombies "ruin" PVP. In fact, I'd have them spawn in much greater numbers and be able to respond to gunshot at a much greater distance too. So if some popped off their little gun into some players back they'd be absolutely swamped by zombies. Too many people's first instinct in this game is merely to start blasting at the first person they see. There should be penalties for that.

    Where to find 7.62 x 39?

Since the buff in 7.62x39 the SKS has become a prized weapon. It used to be shit. But now every Tom Dick and Harry likes it. So the ammo has become rarer too unfortunately.

Why block the NVG completely ?

You never need NVGs on official. The nights are so bright it negaties them. On the private servers I play nights are so short, you can literally wait them out. Have to say, I like playing with them though.

is favoring of donors ethic ?

If you don't like priority access, just skip the server? Any server I try out that has crap on it I don't like, I move on. It's simple. Played on an Esseker server a couple of weeks ago because it had a high pop. But it was shite. There was a permanent compass at the top of the screen, the names of sites all over the place and a chat stream in the lower left. After about 20 minutes, I knew it wasn't for me. The same thing would happen in this case. People paying for priority access? Nope, I'm probably out. But even then it wouldn't really be that big a deal. Server restarts are announced way in advance, so there's plenty of time to get to somewhere safe if you're afraid that the off chance of being killed as you log back in might occur. Which is something that in over 8 years of playing has never happened to me.
  9. There are players that, literally, camp at spawn sites just to shoot new spawns coming in. The saddest type of player that DayZ has to offer.
  10. I've had more friendly interaction on Esseker, a purely PvP map, than I have ever had on Chernarus. As for PvE, the only way to make that challenging would be to make survival very, very, difficult and something that the player would need to focus on completely. So, you have to get rid of most of the animal spawns and eliminate most of the food spawns too. Also you'd have to cut down on the warm clothing spawns. Otherwise it's all just too easy and gets boring after a while.

    Am I deaf?

I've noticed, too, that the sound in the game can be a bit "enigmatic" at times. Sometimes I can hear the sounds of other player footsteps. But at other times players can literally run up to me and I hear bugger all. Yesterday I was on Esseker and looking at a lad running out of a police station. I didn't shoot him I just watched where he was going. I could hear HIS footsteps as he ran across the road to one of those little shops. But I COULDN'T hear the footsteps of the player that ran up behind me an knocked me out with a pick axe. I heard him grunt as he did his power attack though. Very weird.

    What sickness?

I know. It's a bugger isn't it. I thought I would never get rid of it when I had it a couple of weeks ago.

    Zombies ruin PVP

    Good.
  14. These types are the absolute worst kind of DayZ player. They're just a useless element entirely and the hurr durr of their "play style" is monumentally cretinous. However, one of the problems with that particular map is that once you have discovered the entirety of it you realise that there's no a lot one can do there. Building a base is pointless cos it's so small and wandering can get boring. But hanging around on a rooftop sniping freshies is probably the lowest type of gameplay I can imagine.
  15. Think I've just experienced my first cheater. Just been shot in a rail carriage. Couldn't possibly have been seen and was killed with one shot. Fishy as fuck.

    What sickness?

You'll only puke if you stuff yourself.
  17. Tonyeh

    What sickness?

It's salmonella probably. Had it on experimental and it was a pain in the arse to get rid of. If you can't find pills, get your stats up and it should go in a while. Don't eat/drink too much at any one time.
  18. My experience is different. I've had plenty of players say to me that they are friendly and then turn out to be...you know...friendly. I've had fully geared players give me guns and ammo, or med gear etc. Those players are out there, even if they are in a definite minority. The flipside is also true, however, where the "I'm friendly" guys turn a gun on you. It's difficult to know what to do, which makes meeting other players what it is. However, as I said, I had a shit gun, one bullet and not that much to lose, so c'est la vie. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  19. But you see, sometimes people are friendly and into the bargain, I only had a BK18 with a single round. So either way I was probably buggered anyway. I wasn't about to lose much so it wasn't too much bother. In normal circumstances things would, more than likely, work out different.
  20. For me, it's the high alert that makes the game exciting though and without it, DayZ is a very poor single player experience. But like you I became pretty expert at not being seen. I'd be able to hide behind walls, doors, sheds etc and other players would waltz right by me never even knowing I was there. Once I hid amongst a load of dead zombie bodies and several players that killed them stopped by and were yapping about what they were going to do next. They hadn't a clue that I was about 2 feet away from them. As to the overmodded servers, some of them are pretty awful. DayZ is fine with a few tweaks here and there and there are some good mods around. But some hosts go too far. I was on one last night and it was practically unplayable with all the shit on the screen. There was a permanent compass, a steam of shite from other players typing and the names of locations and their distances floating around. I lasted about 20 minutes.
  21. And to prove the point, I've just been shot by some cunt who came up saying he was friendly. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he shot me.
  22. Let's be honest, the vast majority of DayZ players are cunts. Just like the vast majority of any online game. Most are just there to kill other players, because that's all they know. That's the only way to play a game for them. I've had newspawns spawn in at the same time as me and immediately try and attack me...and for what? I don't have anything for them. Then there's the sniper twats who sit on hills for hours shooting at folk for no reason other than to kill another player. They don't take their stuff, they're not interested in that. They just want to shoot other players from the safety of distance. They're the absolute worst kind of DayZ player. Then there's the trap merchants, the pricks that leave bear traps, mines and now this tripwire shite lying around to fuck up another player. They're not even around to see anyone walk into the trap so they can take their stuff. What's the point? The KOS in a face to face situation everybody has done and that's down to sheer panic most of the time and I'll admit, I've done it. I've also shot people as they've run into a house I'm hiding in and I've shot people from afar too (which is different to sniping). But, TBH, without the PvP killing DayZ would be a rather dull experience, don't you think? It's the threat of constant death and having to start everything again that makes the game exciting. Even if getting killed is a trying experience, depending on the level of "geared" your toon is at. However, the survival aspect of the game is just far too easy and that's a real problem for people who want to be PvE. There's simply no challenge as there's food everywhere. The two main aspects of rural survival in DayZ are warmth and food and both are in abundance. Loot a few places and you've got all the winter clothing you need. Find a knife, a rifle and a few rounds and you're all set for hunting the abundant game that roams around the map. So, in the end, the only real threat to a toon's survival is the other players. As to the RP servers, I only played on one once and it was ok. There was a safe town where there was no shooting allowed and I was tasked with gathering food for the town. Other players were tasked with gathering different supplies, like lumber etc. So I head off with my scoped Winchester and In a few hours I had gathered more food than could have been eaten in a month of playing and it quickly got boring. But that was just one server, there might be other RP servers out there with a different set up. As an aside, I will say that's it's incredibly ironic that on the pure PvP maps, like Esseker and Takistan, I've had more players willing to talk and team up than I have ever had on Chernarus.

    Experimental servers

I read "Don Sibley", but the only thing that popped into my head was this guy...
  24. Tonyeh

    Explosion sounds.

It depends. The helicopter explosions don't have the heli crashing visually. But if you follow the direction of the sound you might find the downed chopper. The artillery sounds are followed by a visual shell exploding above the target and green toxic gas being released.

The "Pew Pew Pew" players have over win.

Survival in DayZ has always been in need of being much more difficult. I've said it often, but once the player is over that initial panic at the start of a toon's life, they never have to worry about food and water again. And besides warmth, which is easy to achieve, food and water are the only essentials to surviving in the wilderness of Chernarus. If I had my way, a toon would start on better hydration and energy, but obtaining food would be much more difficult than it is presently. The toon that wants to hide in the wilderness and play Grizzly Adams would have to spend a lot of time hunting and also they'd need to be adept at storing dried food too. Because they would never be sure of where the next meal is coming from and may have to rely on it, if a hunting mission ends with no kill. As things stand, a player can't go a 1000 yards without hearing an animal of some sort, so food is literally everywhere making survival in DayZ supremely easy. Which means the only real threat to a toon's survival is other humans. Of course a toon could die to bears and wolves if they're unlucky, but 99% of player deaths are to other players. These gas bombardments notwithstanding, DayZ has always been pew pew, which is annoying to some players I'll admit. Especially when it comes in the form of sniper twats, who think they're playing 'Call of Duty' and who's only interest is in sitting on a hill waiting around for another player to come into their scope. However danger in the form of other players who will kill you for what you have is an essential part of the game. Just as it would be if the shit hit the fan and society did collapse. You'd be surprised at how quickly people would descend into animals if there were no restrictions or consequences placed upon them. Even genuinely good people would turn to their nasty side if the desperation to survive was high enough. And in that respect I suppose my vision for DayZ where food and drink is much harder to come by would, in fact, lead to more pew pew.
