    Chernarus must evolve

It's a hell of a lot more "balanced" and rewarding than vanilla DayZ, that's for damn sure. Where the hell is the "balance" in zombies that can't harm you? 😆

    Chernarus must evolve

There's more to the DayZIntenz server than just the various meds. The infected are also something to be wary of. At the moment in vanilla, they're absolute shite. They're practically pointless and might as well not be in there at all. As to the meds and illnesses, it enhances the game brilliantly. An infected person can give you concussion, for instance. You also need to sleep. That's a great addition to the survival aspect of the game. At the moment, the vanilla game is waaaay too easy. Food is plentiful, zombies don't mean shit, haven't had to worry about illness for (literally) years. If I avoid other players, my toon can last for months and months. Also, people can't be "walking armouries" on DayZIntenz because you can't carry an arsenal of weapons as the amount of space available to the player is greatly limited compared to the vanilla game. Maybe play the server before just going "plz no".

    Chernarus must evolve

It would great for regular gameplay. The DayzIntenz server isn't some wanky RP nonsense. It's essentially a vanilla server with the enhancements I mentioned. There's no clowns going around pretending their someone else or putting on silly accents. It's players playing the game like they would on a vanilla server, but with some mods that make the experience much harder. It's DayZ as it should be. It's harsh, tough and unforgiving with infected that can seriously fuck up your day.

PC - No one listens to me on voice chat

The game needs to go back to the old way of doing voice chat. The old way meant the player was able to double click caps lock and you would have a hot mic, meaning that the mic was always on. In the last patch they changed this. So when you double click caps lock now, it means that you switch to "voice activation", which is different to always on. Supposedly the player's voice activates the mic but it doesn't work satisfactorily, because I find that player's chat gets clipped and you end up not hearing the whole sentence that the player has said. And sometimes you hear nothing at all. At the moment the best way to chat is to use the button press. But that means you have to devote a finger to holding down a button and that can get you killed in certain circumstances.

    Chernarus must evolve

As far as gameplay is concerned, the official game could take a leaf out of the DayZIntenz book. DayIntenz is a "hardcore" server set in Chernarus. It has infected that are a very real threat. They can hear you better, see you better and fuck you up really bad if they get hold of you. More than three and your going to find yourself in hot water. It heightens the game experience immensely. There's also a wide range of diseases that the player needs to be careful of, too, and the infected have a chance of infecting you, making them even more of a danger. My only gripe about how the infected are handled in DayZIntenz is that they still cannot actually kill the player which is, frankly, bloody stupid. However, as opposed to the official game where the infected are literally pointless, in DayZIntenz they actually make sense and they're not to be trifled with. DayZIntenz also features a great skill tree that allows players to build up stats so their character can survive better. For instance, your hunting skills are next to 0. Lighting a fire ain't so simple. Sneaking and stealth have to be practiced to be truly effective, etc. And medicine is something that needs careful attention. If you get shot, you cannot just bandage and then bugger off like nothing happened. You need to stem the flow of blood with a hemostatic bandage and at some point remove the bullet. Picking up medical equipment is an absolute must. Over all, it makes traveling through Charnarus much more difficult, but also much more rewarding and satisfying too. Unfortunately, once you've played DayZIntentz the official game becomes a little dull. I'd really love it if the makers of the DayZIntenz map applied their mods to other maps, like Deer Isle, Namalsk, Banov or Barrington.

    Zombie Damage

Nerfing the zeds was probably the dumbest move the devs have made to date. They should be your primary antagonist in the game and they should kill you if they overwhelm you. Otherwise what the fuck is the point in them? I play on the DayzIntenz server at the moment and that server in bloody hard. There's been a number of great improvements made to the game on the server, with an overhauled medical mod, a skill tree and infected that are very dangerous. For instance they're much more alert to your presence and can deal out heavier damage than in vanilla. They can give you concussion, or serious bruising and can cut you easily. They can even give you sepsis, which you'll need to deal with fast using an antibiotic. Dealing with one infected person is usually fine, if you have a melee weapon of some sort (even a long stick will do). But three or four of them and you're probably going down. I was at the mil base in Zelenogorsk the other day and one of those captain zombie bastards saw me and screamed. I shot him with the Mark II, but it was too late. From out of nowhere, about 15 to 20 military zombies came running and I had to leg it to one of those green towers. I didn't make it and was beaten black and blue by them. When I woke up I had 10 hematomas, concussion, 5 cuts and was in pain. I had to crawl into a container and patch myself up. I still ended up with sepsis and had to slowly make my way to the medical building in town to see if I could get an antibiotic to cure the blood poisoning which, luckily, I did. Wolves are a serious threat too and bears are to be avoided. No more messing about with them. DayzIntenz also has seasons. Right now it's Summer. But I started playing on the server during Winter and it was the hardest DayZ experience I've ever had. In fact, it was almost like an entirely new game. The only issues I have with the DayzIntenz server is that the zeds still don't kill you, even if they are more dangerous, and the weapon raise bug happens far, far, too often. But neither issue is the fault of the server. They're built in game issues. But, yeah, anyway I'd really like it if the zeds could kill players again. Why they were nerfed in the first place is a mystery to me.

    The Hand Glitch.

If you mean the weapon raise bug, that's been a plague on the game for years. I'm on a German server at the moment and nearly every single time I go to raise my weapon I get bugged. It costs me kills and lives.

    Seasons

The Intenz server has seasons. Although at the moment it's limited to just three. Summer, Autumn and Winter. Winter is an absolute nightmare. The problem is that in order to change the season there needs to be a complete wipe. That means your character, and you have to carefully nurse a toon on this server, gets whacked. Some people aren't going to like that, because the server is very difficult. At the moment on Intenz, it's Summer.

    Am I Wrong?

Haven't had a disease in the vanilla game in nearly half a year or more. Now, if someone wants to play DayZ on a real hardcore server, I can recommend Intenz. That's a server where disease is really something to be afraid of.
  11. Maybe if you stifle it too hard you end up farting instead. 😆

1.19 Stable Release / Wipe News

Well, the guy I had was mainly living in the wild and I stashed all my loot in wooden boxes on the ground in the very far North. I was on a Dutch server with a massive clan who were competing for resources with me. This was also back in the days when hoarded weapons stopped them from spawning. So I had to make do with lower tier stuff. I spent most of my time using a Winchester and a Deagle (when the Deagle was a one shot beauty, before the nerf!) Often I'd sit atop a hill and look over Cherno, watching this clan build their walls and stuff and I'd pick off a few. I'd sometimes try a little raid on their massive base too. I managed to steal a couple of AK's that way. I killed a few of them in their cars as well by haunting the road blocks. But I suppose that they just respawned and headed back to their base to tool up again. The closest I came to getting killed was when I once logged in north of Cherno and heard several voices chatting. I was in some bushes and they didn't see me. But they've must have been searching for the guy who was knocking them off. That was really tense because it became a bit of a cat and mouse game until a fire fight broke out. I managed to get away with 4 bleeds, red flashing blood and health, and nearly all my clothing ruined. That was a long walk home. When I logged out I was shaking. 😅

1.19 Stable Release / Wipe News

Wipes are a pain in the hole for sure and I've lost characters that have been months in the making. One guy was on the go for nearly six months and on the server I was on, there was a huge clan that had basically walled off the entirety of Cherno. I'd watch them from afar toiling away, occasionally taking one or two of them out. Imagine how they felt when the wipe happened. But these days, I just consider them the end game of DayZ. If I make it to a wipe then I've "won" the game. My character made it out alive (let's say he was rescued) and it's time for a new guy to try and survive til the next wipe.

    Stab Vest OP

Very little in the game makes sense. You can make rope from people's guts for god's sake. You can make a "bone knife" by presumably rubbing two pieces of bone together.

    Running power attack range

Yeh. Needs to be seriously nerfed. Although the way to dodge it is to simply run toward the guy doing the power attack. They'll miss every time. You end up having to do this silly dance with all the dickheads in the game though.

    Eden Map What happened?

Well, fuckin hell, I was enjoying that map.
  17. There's always been people that played the game as a shooter only. Mostly because they have no idea how to play any other type of game. I've been playing this thing since 2014 and there was always the crowd that were only interested in getting a gun and heading down to Cherno or Electro. On the other hand, my original interest in DayZ was nearly as a single player game. I loved the sandbox apocalypse atmosphere and the survival aspect of it. But over the years that has become less and less because on "normal" DayZ, survival is simple. In fact, it's easier (and much cheaper) than my real life! LOL. Things go so easy in the game that I had to make things artificially harder for myself by not picking up canned food and the like and only living off the land. Even with that, I found that my toons were living quite comfortably within a pretty short time frame and the only thing I had to combat was boredom. These days the highest pops are in the likes of Esseker, where there's nothing else but PvP, and it's telling that that map has become my most played map over the last year or so. This is mostly because the PvE element of DayZ is pretty much dead and it will probably stay that way.

Is Zagoria a new map on console?

It won't be on console. But the guy who made the Deer Isle map is working on the Zagoria map I think.

Any community vanilla 1PP servers? (PC)

If you can't do Spaggies or Zero servers then try DayOne. They're based in New Jersey I think. Their Esseker map is hopping every night of the week.

    Stealth kills bug

They'd probably hear you before you got near enough. Seriously, they'd want to be the absolute worst DayZ players ever to fall prey to a "stealth kill" in this game. It's a nice idea, but it wouldn't work...unless players could be made absolutely silent and that's not going to happen because it would impact elsewhere.

    Stealth kills bug

The only human players that the stealth kill would work on are those that are AFK or asleep.

    Ban Russian Servers

I'd say that there's a sizeable portion, if not an outright majority, of Russians who are against the war in the Ukraine. I can't imagine any of them, except the most base level knuckle draggers and brain washed idiots who would be in favour of this conflict. A needless conflict dreamt up on the whim of a thoroughly reckless leader, with no clear and definable goals, that has served them no real purpose at all and has seen the country become a global pariah. The problem is that the Russians have no agency to act on any opposition that they might feel. People, right now, are being arrested for merely saying that they don't support the war. Just imagine what would happen if there were actual efforts to "put pressure on the situation internally"? Putin has no qualms, whatsoever, about coming down hard on any dissent in the country with regards to his war and has made it very clear and the bottom line is that the average Russian has no actual realistic line of opposition to engage in here. However, banning a load of DayZ'ers who just want to play a computer game would do absolutely nothing in that regard. All it will do is piss off the people who enjoy playing the same game as we all do.

    DayZ Movie

Yeh, +1 for Black Summer. Probably the best thing zombie that I've seen in ages. Even if they are the run around types and not Romero ones. But there were times that it did feel quite like DayZ. As to an actual DayZ movie, you're correct. The writers have everywhere to go with it because there is no story. What will happen, though, is what happened with WWZ. It'll just be a name rape. A popular title used to sell something that will absolutely nothing to do with the original item.
