Hey people! I'm not sure if this issue is local or worldwide but for the last 2 weeks my server list has been only showing the same 20 odd servers and when increased the filter settings to upto 400 ping, only around 40 servers loaded. If anyone has any suggestions onto how to fix or what might be up, please reply Thanks

Resolved... To inform you incase your issue is the same, I found my IP flood detection was on as my housemate recently changed our router security options. This caused the servers to load slowly and only load a small amount, turned it off, perfection!

How to play DayZ when there are no servers within 170 ping?

What I meant was that you're not going to get thrown in the slammer for it :-p At worst case your steam account will be get a global ban from playing dayz -

Err well it's not "illegal" but it would break the game's terms and conditions. -
Err...question... so what is it? Donate (aka pay for) or is it "on the house"?
-
Fully agree! I meant that having zeds was a good thing to have! My 200+hrs has involved killing a whopping 2 people! lol
-
Hahaha! I can only laugh now because it's in the past, but I did have to shoot someone a couple weeks ago who decided to run at me and the amount of zeds that overwhelmed me reeallllyyyy sucked. Ended up with a damaged weapon, ruined pants, then a broken leg, bleeding like a ***** All of that because I fired 3 bullets (yes i missed one :-p) But in hindsight, still a good thing to have as who really wants a pvp assigned area...

Why is Dayz Mod considered "Alpha"
benji_milo replied to Uncle Zed's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The most likely reason that dayz mod is labelled as "alpha" is the fact they coded it as that when the team first made it and simply haven't bothered going through the time to remove it. All things aside is that it isn't an alpha now nor do I believe it ever was an alpha that was opening available to play. By all means Dean would have made an alpha, but kept it to themselves until completion. -

Well it's the Dayz Standalone that is in Alpha. Dayz Mod is not in alpha... it's only a mod... Also my mistake for skipping over the word mod... (maybe bed time) -

Well there is an awful lot that is needed to be done before release. They're over 50% to release, progress wise, yet the loot system isn't even ready yet. The zeds are not working to how they want it Persistence is still not right Weapons are not done Sounds aren't really working that great Cars, boats and aircraft are nowhere near completion Etc. Etc. Etc. Think of it as, say, a battlefield beta. Wouldn't you be pissed off if half the guns weren't done yet? or half the map cut off and just blank? At the present, in my opinion, they are only now starting the fine tuning to turn it into a beta -
Oh..... it's not YOUR video... it's like the video.... sorry.... rookie mistake on my part :-p Have you tried the solution on the video caption? And yes you can have multiple directx installed. I recommend doing 9 and 11
-
Good to see it's fixed! have fun ingame!!!
-
Hey, i've also been asked to ask you if you have Directx 9 installed as Dayz does not use 11. Do try this as in the past my directx didnt work and spent days trying to play a game that was a couple years old and wouldnt on 11
-
Unfortunately for me though, if I found one, i'd be sacrifcing my own backpack... such a loner! lol
-
At present the MP-133 with pistol grip is a police car spawn.
-
Of course yeah! the idea of it is awesome.. when it's implemented!
-
okay. 3 questions. 1. When you launch from desktop, do you have atleast one "dayz logo" appear in your taskbar? 2. Is your directx upto date? 3. What operating system are you running?
-
Err no it sucks a little, loot isn't respawning, not where it should be, like 50 guns in 20 square metres.. it's awful. I also hate tents. Tried them once, then a random persistence wipe ruined it all and WILL keep happening all the way until launch
-
Very odd indeed. I have tried a multiplay and vilayer server and have noticed that multiplay ones have less loot splosions and in less places. So I guess there is a chance that other providers have had issues flicking back to 0.54 loot tables or maybe they are being guinea pigs for the return of the loot economy
-
Well if you have a really good firewall it can stop a lot it shouldnt. It won't hurt to try it without it on, if it doesn't work, just slap it back on
-
Hmm definately an isolated situation... are you on public or private?
-
Hi there! I'm no expert at dayz launch issues but this may have something to do with an anti-virus or firewall you have on. I know that the battleye anti hack software that Dayz uses can sometimes cause clashes with firewalls. I also know you have it turned off, but do make sure no other program is running a firewall. Also from my limited knowledge of modems and networking, there is a chance that you may not have the correct ports open
-
Well I cannot speak for that specific server or the specific location for it to be stolen but what I can say is that your mines and bear traps would have vanished after every server restart as they are not persistant. Your tents may have vanished due to the central economy respawning system. I'm still unsure if it's is still in place but it may be down to someone else joined that server and erected two more mill tents which placed the server over limit and made yours vanish.
-
That's some pretty awesome luck! I would simply be happy to find a random empty tent to use, but with the loot system not yet at its full potential, persistence wipes will still be a common occurance and is almost usless to bother hoarding like that

This is a little random but I just want to quickly contrast living in the north for weeks then heading down to electro. The north; peaceful, tranquil and beautiful landscape with loot to be found, not much death. The city; big, scary, zombies everywhere, still plenty of loot yet stumble across a pile of human bones and remains, a landmine and a chainsaw all in one structure... a little terrifying... Any thoughts?
